Alternative for zman finesse shroomz jigheads
I’ll give that a try. Neve thought of doing that but the trd’s are super durable

Alternative for zman finesse shroomz jigheads
Never even heard of it. I’ll have to give that a try no, the salt is impregnated in the plastic bait I don’t remove the baits because I super glue them to the jighead, otherwise they constantly slide down.

do I need to buy leader
I never use “leader material” my leader material is off a regular spool of mono. Berkley big gam or trilene xl

Alternative for zman finesse shroomz jigheads
What’s comparable out there? I like the zman finesse shroomz heads, but the hook rusts from the salt in the zman trd’s right on the bend of the hook where the hook exits the plastic. This causes snapped hooks and lost fish. Unacceptable

How often to retie braid
If you haven’t fished it since you retied how could it weaken? I’ve left the same frog on my frog rod all season and only retied when the line look frayed.

Sufix 832
Spooled up with 40lb 832 because the local shop was out of power pro. After fishing I noticed the line has a “twisted” look to it. The line was behaving fine and had no issues but the look of it looks strange Never had this issue with power pro. Something to worry about?

Braid with leader no more
I don’t use fluoro, it has poor knot strength and poor manageability on spinning reels. Some guys like it I don’t. But yes I would prefer a single filament line (mono or fluoro) over braid for Texas rigging aslong as I’m not fishing in heavy grass. i fish 15lb berkley big game for Texas rigs and 50lb braid in heavy grass

Braid with leader no more
No more than 8, preferably 6. I personally would be fishing 6-8lb mono if I wasn’t fishing braid

Ned Rig head weights
1/20 and 1/15 is what I use most but my lakes on average are 3-4’ deep

Line size for dobyns fury 735c
I use clear or green doesn’t matter
-
Line size for dobyns fury 735c
I would not use a leader I personally would fish 15lb big game mono or 50lb braid if I’m around a lot of grass

Alternate Uni to Uni
I use the Alberto knot for all of my line to line connections. It’s small, passes through the guides easy and it’s easy to tie. Never had problems with it
-
Alternate Uni to Uni
Improved clinch on all my mono, Palomar for braid. I don’t use fluoro

Baitcast reel wont let line out almost at all
Loosen the spool tension knob. It’s located on the same side of the reel as the handle

Flippin/pitching set up
I think most guys go too heavy with their rods they also fish weights that are too heavy. I also don’t peg nearly as often as most and I believe that’s part of the reason why I get more bites and rarely lose a fish pitching and flipping. I’ve lost fish that I shouldn’t have with a heavy weight pegged to the bait. The only time I peg is when I’m punching grass or flipping nasty wood. As far as line goes I fish 15lb berkley big game mono whenever I can, but by mid June-early July most of the lakes I fish are choked out with grass which forces me to fish 50lb braid.

Ned rod
Yup Dobyns 702 is what you’re looking for. Soft tip but backbone

Rod tip help
Line only rubs the ceramic insert, you will be fine. Many of my rods have scratches and nicks on the guide and tip top frame. This happens from transport and also leaning rods up against things
-
St Croix Bass X Rod
I’ve felt a few they seemed heavy and out of balance. For the same price you could get a Dobyns fury which is a much better rod IMO

Smithwick devils horse
I agree but the devils horse has its time and place, specifically the way captain Phil describes how to fish it
