I have BPS Extreme rod that I bought at the spring classice a few years ago. I have not used it in awhile but it seems that I have manged to knock out the insert on the tip. I only paid $59 for it so my question is would it be worht the money to replace the tip or buy another rod in that price range.

Muddy, I have used some of Okuma's lower end reels. It was the Avenger 50 series as matter of fact- $39. I used it for two seasons and sold it to my buddy and he is on his third summer using it. He has caught several King Mackeral in the 20# range and it has held up fine. If I were going to buy another I would get the Epixor which is the next level up. I belive you can score them for around $59 to $.69 Big T

I am not positve but I believe that the 2500 Stradic took the 2000 series place, the Stradic Fg's were from 2001 because because that was the reel I originally was going to get when I bought my Symtre. Too bad you could've scored on of the Fh series reels I have seen them for as low $95. However if the one you won is good shape it will last you awhile more. I would send to ReelMech for a good cleaning just to be on the safe side.

I grew up watching and rooting for the Redskins, I still watch them but I am more of Panthers guy now, gotta root for the home team. But I must say though that Brett Farve has been one of my favorite QB's for awhile. His toughness is somthing you do not see out of pro-athletes these days. This guy has played through alot. Big T

Hey your store sounds like the Walmart my wife works at. This past week management was chasing a shop lifter in the parking lot, when the guy pulls out knife a precides to stab him in the leg and shoulder. Poor guy had to have 21 stiches. Then the shoplifter jumps in to a cop car, slams the door on the cop's hand, drags him through parking lot and speeds away. Wilmington PD caught him later that day, he is now facing attempted murder on police officer, assault and battery with a deadly weapon for stabbing the manager and on top that shoplifting charges. I do not work retail anymore, I am considering returning to Walmart while returniing to college. But if I do I will never chase a shoplifter again. A $15 CD or Dvd is not worth loosing you life over.

My polarized sunglasses. I have been fishing a section of my home lake that is 3 to 4 feet deep and clear. I can actually see everthing on the bottom, I even saw a small snake moving on the bottom near my boat last month.

I had that samething earlier this year in the lower Cape Fear river near the ocean. I was anchored on a section that dropped from 10 to 35 ft deep. This drop off ran a good ways under water because I had fished in futher down the river. These idiots in a Deckboat kept pulling up right beside me a drifting down the ledge, must have been drifting for Flounder, anyways the last time they did it they got so close that I could have literally smacked them in the head with my 7ft pole. It aggrevatd me to no end. I mean this part of the river is close 2-3 miles across include the flats. Rather than get confrontational and get my wife upset I just moved. Besides I had been there an hour only caught a few small croakers, so it was not even a hot spot. Big T

I hate Snakes, followed by Lizards and rats. Oh yea I forgot Seagulls, especially when you are at the beach and some idiot thinks that it might be fun to show their kids how to feed one, then you are swamped by poop dumping flying rats. It looks like a scene from the Alfred Hitchcock movie.

I do not think we have Tautogs this far down in SE North Carolina. And LBH is right we do use Shrimp for bait around here. I make the analogy that we pay $6 to $7 for a pound of shrimp to go catch a $2 Spot or a Croaker.

North Carolina has seen an influx of Lionfish being caught on artificial reef and wrecks that are scattered offshore.

Take a look at Shimano's Clarus and Compre model rods. I have a 7 ft MH that is rated 8-17 # line and up to 3/4 oz. lure. The Compre which is a step up come in MH model rated up to 7/8 oz lure. Also I believe the MH St. Croix Premeires are rated up to 3/4 oz. as well

That video reminds me of some of the clowns that frequent the boat ramps at Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach . These people buy the biggest boat that the bank will finance and have never owned nor operated a boat in their life. This is part of the reason I all but stopped Saltwater fishing and started fishing Sutton Lake and the NE Cape Fear river. My wife can do a better job in the dark with no lights that those guys.

I caught a Ramora once while trolling for King Mackeral, I guessing there was big Shark in the area, that's probably why we were not catching Kings in that area.

Thank RW. I am going to Mrytle Beach in a couple weeks I will have to try the BPS and the Dicks Sporting Good down there. The Dick's here does not carry them and the only other tackle shop in town that carries St. Croix, only has Premiers, Tidemaster and those sucky Triumphs which I made the mistake of buying. This town is more geared towards the Saltwater scene. I mean I literally live 5 minutes from the beach. I can also drive 5 miles west and fish the river or Progress Enegy cooling pond/lake. Big T

I have found myself doing alot of Panfishing hear lately, and the cheap Walmart Ultralights just aren't cutting it. I mean they get the job done but I am losing some nice quality fish due to the rod being to whippy. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a good 5 1/2 ft light action rod in the 50 to 75 dollar range. I was looking into getting a second Shimano Clarus but I am open to suggestions, Aslo what size reel would you pair with it. I am currently using Plueger Trions in the 20 series but am considering moving up to a 25 or 30 series President or a Sahara 1500. Any input would greatly be appreciated Sorry for such a long post. Sorry to hear about your terrifying experience and my prayers are with your family. This is why I am firm beleiver that if some creep tries to break in you house you should be allowed to shoot them right on the spot. There are some crazy people running amuck and it gets worse everyday. You can't even send your kids to school without fear of being harmed. Big T

Steve Spurrier is genius when it come sto the college game but he did not do so hot when he was at Washington or in the old USFL. But I must say as a diehard Redskins fan Daniel Scneider is all that either, I mean this guy has the money to put a great footlball team on the field but until this year has put together a team that could easily be whipped buy some college programs.

I am going to end this from my point because I can see that there is alot of jealous USC haters here but when some of these other teams win the games and Natioanal Championships that USC has over the years then they will be on the same level. Oh yea Catt the last BCS championship that LSU won in 2003 I beliive it was,that year the AP gave its National Championship to the evil empire USC and they were not even in the top two the previous week. Therefore it seems to me that they were a better team then and now, and as far as losing to Stanford goes it is smae the deal as when these lower teams play the greatest basketball team out there the mighty UNC Tarheels ,everyone steps it up a noch because they are playing against the mystique and tradition that Carolina's basketball team or USC's football team brings to the table. Let me say that as a Trojan fan I honestly think they deserved to loose. They played soppy at Washington and it carried over this week. However they are still a powerhouse and can beat half the top teams out there, including some so called SEC powers. I not saying that they are a National Championship team, because they lost their top receivers from last. But they are still better than alot of the pretenders. Big T

I like Duplin Winery as well, I live about 45 minutes from the Winery. I really like the Beaufort Bay white wine but I have a bottle of Queen Anne's Revenge that I am ready to open. Big T
