  1. I'v been reading Roadwarrior's posts on Yozuri Hybrid for awhile now. I finally broke down and spooled a reel up with it yesterday. I got 8# test on a cheap Diawa reel, but so far I love this stuff. I may switch all my spinning reels over to it. I mean this line made even a cheap reel and when I mean cheap like less than $20 work better than I expected. Thanks Roadwarrior Big T
  2. I use the 4000 series Symtre's for redfish, your 2500 Stradic would also work. It would actually tbe better trowing gulps on a jig head. For Trout a lighter action rod would be better. Trout have delicate mouths and it is easy to rip a bait form their lips Big T
  3. I have three Labs, 1 of which is a Chocolate male named Jasper. He turned two years old in March. My other two Labs are black Females, the oldest is Belle, she turns two in October. Her and my male mated a little earlier than my wife and I had hoped so they had a litter of pups in November. One of those pups I kept for myself, her name is Alleigh. Not brag too much but these dogs are the smartest animals I have ever seen. We had to put child locks on the China Cabinet because they figured out how to open the doors and get my snacks fo work out. Plus I have a habit of leaving snacks in my lunch box which they destroy getting into after the snacks. So far in two years they have gone through 6 soft sided lunch boxes and I am on the 4th little igloo cooler since November when I went back to work after back surgery.
  4. Ha, I almost forgot about Mike Vick, I never liked him or his brother ever sense they were at VA Tech. The problem with pro sports starts at the college level though. These big time football and basketball programs recruit kids for the wrong reasons. They recruit them as athletes first and students second, instead of vice versa. If truth be known over half of them do not even have the grades to get into these schools. It is all about the money, championships and making the Alumni happy, where as it should be about getting an education, becoming a productive citzen instead of being an overpaid pro-athelete/hoodalum. 5. I work second shift M-F as batchmaker for a chemical company that makes coatings for the printing and packaging companies. To clarify it a little, next time someone buys a carton of Pespi or Coors Beer look at the way the cardboard shines and is little slick. The company I work for makes that coating. We ship all over the country and Hong Kong too. Not bad from a company of around 100 to 150 people. Big T
  6. I agree with Raul and alhuff, In most states it is illegal to transplant fish from one body of water to another, also buy doing this you could also transplant micro-organisms or desease that might be attached to the fish, which could be dissaterous to the new lake. Big T
  7. I tried posting on this topic last night, but had computer problems. Anyway I think Pacman Jones is like alot of other pro football and basketball players. They are overpaid street thugs. They are no better than a common street criminal, with the exception that they are rich. Because of this all of sudden America seems to care about what happens to them. The sad part of it all is alot that kids and teenager see these clowns as role models Big T
  8. The electric blue is used for saltwater trolling around here. Big T
  9. Great intervue, I have been inspired to not let myself be sucked into buying alot of higher end equipment that is a little out of my budget. I have also been insipred to go fishing more and just relax and have fun, something that I have not been doing. I have taken things out of perspective lately. Thanks LBH Big T
  10. According to the Wildlife officer I spoke to it is legal in North Carolina as well.
  11. These are ok rods, I have one. They are made from the same blank as the Premier, however they are made in China and the quality just is not as good as the American made Premier. I would get the Premeir or look for a Shimano Clarus which retails for $59 to $69. These are pretty good rods for the money plus they have a lifetime over the counter warranty. Just my opinion though, hope this helps. Big T
  12. LBH, I mailed my stickers off this afternoon, they are coming from Wilmington, NC. Big T
  13. Nice fish, I once caught a forty pound Wahoo while on a Yellowfin charter, which is a catually the biggest fish I have ever caught. Those Wahoos are fun to catch. Looks Like you guy had a great trip. Big T
  14. I am glad they threw her butt in jail, I mean here is someone who was driving intoxicated could've killed someone and some sheriff who is very Hollywood star friendly lets her out, and on top of that she spent 3 days in jail and they give her credit for five because they counted the days she checked in and out as complete days. I mean they gave Martha Stewart more time than that and all she did was commit a questionable transaction with her on money which did not harm anyone except her pocketbook. I do not feel sorry for celebraties at all, it that happened to the average person they would lock us up and trow away the key. Big T
  15. LBH, I happen to have a couple of stickers that I got from a local saltwater shop, I will put them in the mail tommorrow, I will also check some of the other shops around here this weekend and see what I can find. Hope this helps Big T
  16. Rolo, I see you like Kunnan rods, they are great rods. A buddy of mine has few live bait rods that we use to use for King Mackeral. Hard to find, I believe that the factory burned down and the company went our of business. As for the question, I can't give a response for the Striper part as we do not get that many Srtipers here in Southeastern North Carolina, but for the Bluefish your Sahara might would work for smaller fish, as long as they do not spool your reel. I have one us those reels and it will hold up 160 yards of 12# test mono. One option would be to spool it with 20 pound power pro braid, I beleive it has the diameter of 6# test line, that would take care of getting spooled. As far as rods go for around a $100 dollars you could get a Shimano Teremar series inshore rod. If you had a level wind reel, such as a old Penn 9 or a bigger Abu Garcia then I would say the a MH would be good as far as heldling heavier baits.. Another option is to go to Bass Pro Shops web site and check out some of their combos. Some of their saltwater spinning outfits are pretty decent.
  17. That is one huge Shark, I use to go to the beach all the time with my friends. That was until I started King Mackeral fishing and saw all the Sharks and Barracudas that came up. Once I was offshore and caught a nice Mahi Mahi, when I got it to the boat I had a ten pound head. You won't get me in the surf again, I'll stay in the boat. ;D Tony
  18. I have both reels. The Sahara is a nice reel but the Symtre is a much better reel at $20 more dollars. I actually have two Symtre 4000's. One is the Fh series and the other is is the Fi series. I use these reels mostly for light inshore saltwater action. The older Symtre is five years old and has never given me a bit of trouble, it is still pretty smooth. It would probably work better if I had it professionally cleaned and lubed. Big T
  19. There are still some fishing shows that I still like but not many. Most have turned into infomercials for the sponsers, which I would like to know how many products these guys actually use. But getting back on topic the shows that I like are Fishing the Keys with Flip Pallot and the Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dalhberg. I am with Avid ,I am also going to miss ole Jerry McKinnis. His show was great. He fished everywhere in everything from a Ranger Bass Boat to a canoe. Big T
  20. Thanks guys, I am deifineitly going to try a shorter rod. I apprrciate everyone's help. Big T
  21. Thanks, I am seriously considering the psitol grip, I can cast the longer rods, but in the river I fish, there is alot of laydowns and overhanging trees, so I need accuracy instead of distance. Big T
  22. Thanks for the input, I guess I am going to have to just keep practicing. I would rather have a little longer rod just because I think it would be more versatile. Thanks, Big T
  23. I posted a thread about the All Star spinnerbait rod, however due to problems casting overhanded(too many backlashes) i have to cast sidearmed. The problem is that longer i.e 6 1/2 ft and 7 ftrods with alonger handle tend to get in the way. I was think about trying either a 6ft rod with a short trigger handle or a psitol grip rod. I do not need a super long cast where I am fishing at, and if I do I have plenty of 7 ft spinnning rods for this. Does anyone still use thses rods. I was looking at the 6ft Bionic Blade. Thanks for any input Big T
  24. It's sad that some people get all stupid over some fishing area. It sounds like the lcoal Sheriff was trying to make excuses for the activity by saying that he was just trying to warn them away from his lines. Big T
  25. I am looking at getting a All Star Classic Spinnerbait rod of of Ebay from Simmons Sporting Goods, it apparently is one of the original classics. My question is even though it says that it is a spinnerbait rod could it be used for other applications, such as worms? Any input would be appreciated, Thanks Tony
