I here ya, I just checked the local Saltwater forum and the Captain said that nothing was taken off the boat, not even the beer in fridge. However when they ran it aground they left the engine running for around 30 minutes. Port side engine was blown and they Starboard engine had some damage. I agree with trick on delaing with a boat theif.
  2. Thank dude, I am going out Thursday anyway I have a couple of spots way up the NE Cape Fear that I think could produce nice fish. I may just leave the boat at home and go wading around the flats behind Fort Fisher. The funny thing about here is if you do not like the weather hang around for an hour it usually changes.
  3. Wilmington only has one big box sporting goods store and that is Dick's . And our Dick's sporting goods store sucks, it is always a mess, nothing is ever marked and theyare always out of stock. We have Wlly world but they have stopped carrying as much tackle as they use too. Everything esle around here is local tackle shops. Big T
  4. That would be one huge Bull Shark, I was thinking of either a Great White or a Tiger Shark. Hard to tell buy just its shadow.
  5. Look like a huge Ribbonfish.

Just wanted to share this because I find it little amusing and I will explain why. Last night two boats wer stolen from Bradley Creek marina. The boat's owners said thathe htough the thiefs knew what they were doing because these boats were docked in tight quarters. The were not little boats either, the were big sportfishing boats, as a matter of fact I beleive one of them was 38 ft Bertram. The boats were recovered this morning because the idiots who stole them ran them a ground at the entrance of Bradley Creek where it meet the Intercoastal Waterway causing extensive damage. The reason I find this amusing is because the clowns were able to sneek on the docks, unhook the lines , get the boat out of the slip and down the creek which is full of oyster bars and then when they were in the clear they ran on a oyster bar. How stupid can you get. Plus where they were at was a good swim back to shore. Anyway sorry for such a long post I just wanted to share this. By the way if they catch the clowns they ought make shark chum out of them, I can't stand a theif Big T
  7. The only problem that I have with Bass Pro's stuff, like their rods is that they only have a 1 year warranty. I did not know this when I bought mine and after the year was up the ceramic insert came out of the tip. I am rough on my stuff and probably caused it but if I am going to spend a $100 dollars or more on a rod, I expect a longer warranty. My Clarus was only $69 and it comes with a lifetime over the counter warranty. Just my $.02 worth. Big T
  8. It is warm here for this time of the year, highs for this week are the upper 60's and low 70's. Prime weather to go fishing and I have plenty of time to do that right now, however this freaking wind keeps blowing just enough to screw things up. If I go saltwater fishing the water is going to be stirred up and muddy, plus my 16ft john boat will get beat up in the lower Cape Fear river and the lake where I usually Bass fish will probably be just as rough. I like to swamped my boat the ramp last week in the same conditions. Wind picked up while I out there and made it hard to get my boat on the trailer as it was blowing waves directly into the ramp. I may try to get out Thursday anyway, but if the wind is going to blow, I would just as rahter have it cold, at least then I would not want to go fishing as bad. Big T
  9. I think the reason tackle shops do not have sales like that, is because they are seaonally driven. For intstance, Tex's Tackle here in Wilmington has a huge sale every spring. They have big sales on all their tackle such as mirrolures offshore rigs, rods, reels and Gulp baits which is very popular here in the salt, they also put all their bulk line on sale and have drawings for door prizes. 10. That's why I do not get in the water anymore. I use go to the beach all the time in when I was in college the first time, however when I started offshore fishing and saw the size of the Sharks and what a Barracuda would do to a King Mackeral. I quite bodyboarding and swimming at the Beach. Big T
  11. The Citica 100 is only manufactured in righty, fine for us righty bc guys, but if you prefer leftys ....... you are scrwd. Raul, The funny thing about that is when I learned to throw baitcasters I learn on a Abu Garcia 4600 and the 3600 Black Max that I was talking about. I cast with my right arm and switch, when I use a spiining reel I cast with my right arm and reel with my left. I tried a left hand Baicaster and it seemed unnatural. I think it comes from using Penn Conventional reels when I was doing the offshore thing 5 or 10 years ago.
  12. Yea your right the 200D does have the drilled spool, and the 100 and the 200 DSV are the deep spool version. I am not sure what would make them saltwater versions. If I get one I mayget the 200 DSV just in case I decide to use it for Redfish, I am not sure. I may not even get one now I just found out that I can have my old Abu Garcia 3600 Black Max fixed reasonably cheap. Les than a dollar for parts plus the cleaning fee from Abu. It is an older reel but I love its size.
  13. Thanks Guys, I am thinking of getting one for my Birthday. T
  14. I was looking at the Shimano Citca's and noticed that they had a 100 series, and the regular 200 D. What would be the advantage of getting the 200 over the 100 other than line capacity which looked to be around 10 -15 yards more? Would a 100 series work on a 7ft MH rod for T-Rig plastics and Spinnebaits?
  15. My Grandfather introduced me to fishing when I was 4 or 5, we mostly surf fished on Masonboro Island and fished a little in the sound behind the island. I quit fishing around the time I was 15 or 16 and got back into fishing around my mid 20's mainly King Mackeral and offshore. I got burnt out on the saltwater scene and have been freshwater fishing the last 2 summers. I have learned most of what I know from trial and error and from Bass Resource.com. My goal for next year is become a better angler period, in both the fresh and saltwater, however I will focus more time on Bass fishing, than saltwater Big T
  16. Welcome Aboard!
  17. I would not be so sure of that, with speed and toughness Mizzou showed last night in the cold, they are going to be hard to beat. They are definately peaking at the right time. If they beat OU next week, the only thing that might stop them is the half month layoff waiting for the BCS game.
  18. LBH, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. Big T
  19. I think Mizzou should be ranked #1 they beat an undefeated, top 5 team.
  20. Those reels are always on sale. I believe they are made by Quantum excusively for Dick's. I bought one of those Quantum Shaw Grigsby combos one time and the reel cramped out only after four or five outings. Personally I would stay away from it. For $20 more you can get a Pflueger President or a Shimano Sahara and have a much better reel. Hope this helps Big T
  21. I like Green Bay, growing up as a Redskins fan I always despised Dallas. Plus I cannot stand Terell Owens.

Did anyone see the highlight of the guard dog reaching up and biting the Auburn player's hand after he caught a Td pass. I guess the dog was a Bama fan.
  23. You could also take and get the Sahara reel I suggeted and take the extra $20 and buy a Shimano Compre rod which is a step up from the Clarus. Or if you could find a St. Croix Avid on sale for around a 100 you would have great multipurpose setup. Big T
  24. Shimano Clarus $59- Great rod for the money, I have one that I use for light inshore fishing Shimano Sahara $59, or get the Shimano Symtre for $79. I have both of these reels, I like the Symtre a little better. I use 4000 series but they serve dual purpose salt and freshwater. 2500 is about the right size for Bass. As Pfluemis stated the Supreme is a nice reel too. If fished more freshwater I would buy one, however it has been my experience that my Pfluegers did not hold up as well as my Shimano's in the environment that I use them in. Big T

"Wild Hog" or whatever they call it, it is hard to defend, when the RB has that many options like McFadden did tonight. That guy has some serious speed for his size.
