Keep getting snagged in rocks
You may try pegging the weight. I think bullet weights that slide freely can fall down between rocks more easily.

Favorite Senko / Stick Worm Colors ?
It’s a lot easier to type (and remember) #956 vs watermelon with copper flake/orange with red flake! ?

Favorite Senko / Stick Worm Colors ?
lol. No. #956 is watermelon with copper flake/orange with red flake; and #904 (not #906) is black/blue laminate.

Favorite Senko / Stick Worm Colors ?
#956. But #906 is coming on strong. #297 is good, but I catch more on the other two by far.

How to target plus sized bass under docks
It’s a great bait. Rig it tentacles forward or in the rear. If no bites one way, re-rig it on the spot. It’s compact, has good weight to cast, easy as pie to skip and catches bass.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Titans vs Ravens tonight. Going for 21st consecutive preseason victory in a row. Not a huge deal, as they already have the record with 20. Haven’t lost a preseason game since 2015.

Jerkbaits from kayak?
I twitch to the side out of my inflatable. I also will will reel it in 6-7 cranks while twitching it slightly at times.

Bite detection with texas rigs
I use a variety of retrieves. But by far, I have more success slowly dragging a worm or stickbait on the bottom than hopping or swimming it.

Bite detection with texas rigs
My primary Texas rig rod is a Falcon Lowrider All ‘Round Fast (medium-heavy/fast). That’s the rig I use when casting soft plastics with 3/16 thru 3/8 oz weights (mostly 3/16 or 1/4 oz depending on the bait). For finesse applications I prefer a MF or MLXF spinning rig. But I don’t fish many places with heavy weeds or pads like you are, so I rarely need to horse them in. If you can afford a new rig, I think you would enjoy using a nice MH/F baitcaster for the TR’s you are fishing.

Bite detection with texas rigs
I went back and reread this thread. If I were you, and I had to pick between that Sierra and the Star Stellar for fishing soft plastics in shallow water, I’d pick the M spinning rig every day and twice on Sundays. A medium should cast weightless plastics (especially Senkos, Fat IKA’s, Neko Machos) reasonably well, or with a 3/16”-1/4” bullet weight. I’ve caught many bass up to 5 lbs on both M and ML spinning rigs. The ML makes for a good fight but not to horse in fish but the M is normally sufficient. I have a HF for frogs and I would not want to fish a Senko or Jelly Worm TR with it. Unless you spring for a new rig, I’d use your spinning rig for Texas rigs.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
I’m waiting for the Gunnar Henderson call-up from AAA. And I agree 100% with your take on Elias. Here’s hoping he can do it again!

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
I’m starting to get less laughs and a lot more ?? wearing my Orioles gear. 1/2 game out of the final WC spot and hoping to sweep the Blue Jays this evening. The farm system is loaded, the ballclub is playing clutch and the bullpen is reliable. They have turned the page.

Bite detection with texas rigs
It runs the gamut. You can feel and see hard strikes that are unmistakable. You can get the tap-tap that may be a panfish or a nice bass. You can feel nothing but see your line move left/right/towards/away from you. I think this is one of the reasons working a TR is my favorite presentation. I think some anglers find it tedious and boring. I do not. Unlike a lot of other lures, unless a bass sucks it in on the cast, it’s how the angler works the bait that gets strikes. And you have to maintain awareness at all times. If I, under pain of death, had to pick one bait and presentation that I would fish exclusively above all others, it would be a Texas rig.

Do you have an all time favorite fishing reel?
Favorite? That’s hard to say. What’s one combo I’ll never part with? Easy. A ‘60s vintage Garcia Mitchell 300 and a ‘70s vintage Eagle Claw fiberglass rod with ceramic guides. Do I have better rigs? Oh my, yes. But that’s the rig I learned to fish with and I still have it. I’ll part with it when I leave this veil of tears.

How much do you spend a month on tackle?
It comes and goes in waves. I haven’t bought any tackle in quite some time (sorry BM), but yesterday I placed an order with TW. I finally bought some black, white and Junebug Senkos, and some new 3/0 EWG hooks. I wanted to try some new colors.

My Second Combo
Loaded question lol. For bass, I prefer M or ML spinning rods. If I need a MH or higher, that’s baitcasting territory IMO.

Recommend my next fishing rod
My Falcon Lowrider All ‘Round Fast is my primary Texas rig rod. For use in shallow ponds (no deeper than 8’), I normally use a 3/16 to 1/4 oz weight. It’s a great rod for that application. I don’t use braid for that. I spool 10 lb. Big Game on my Daiwa Fuego for Texas rigs.
