  1. Exactly didn’t know the name googled it and found a picture similar to what this pond has the pond is covered with that next to the bank need to cast above this tall grass
  2. Had a Daiwa fuego before and recently got a new fuego baitcaster, brand new but realized the clutch lever ( where you press to release the line) a little loose swinging up and down, my old fuego never had this issue, is not affecting the use at all just noticed that is loose on this one , is that normal on some fuegos? Or something i should keep my eyes on?
  3. Yeah its crazy i will try to take a picture of the place
  4. What to do in a situation like that? was exploring around today with no luck, until I found this small pond behind a shopping plaza the place looked like abandoned, the pond had a thick grass on the edge rooted on water very tall grass grass was so tall that looked like a wall around the pond I knew was going to be complicated to fish there but tried anyway, first cast a bite and big bass on the line.. when reeling back in was impossible to remove the bass from the water the fish went straight the the top of the thick grass and he did something that my line got stuck there and he was stuck with the line with a hook on his mouth, tried everything, even went inside the water to get the bass, knowing alligators could be there went to the water anyway wanted to save the bass and release him, was impossible ..was unable to reach, totally frustrated watched the bass trying to jump on the grass don't know if he was able to return to water or not… frustrated with the situation tried another spots around the lake every single cast with a frog or worm got a bite, but was so afraid to lose another bass that I started reeling fast and lost them.. the pond was incredible looks like the bass there never saw and artificial before, they are extremely aggressive… but was totally unable to land the fish. Want to go there again, but not sure what to do to land those fish.

  7. I’m in South Florida location has a lot to do with my choice Best 3: Plastic Worms, Lipless Crankbait (peacock bass love them) and Fluke Worst 3: Chatterbait, Spinnerbait , Whopper Plopper (im trying hard all those baits no luck so far)
  8. Wow now makes sense sense but still not sure what exactly is a JDM style rod
  9. Sorry the ignorance but what is JDM?
  10. Interesting topic, have some expensive reels but keep coming back to my old cheap Abu Silver Max, for some reason is the reel i feel more comfortable
  11. What exactly is a JDM style rod and what is the application for this type of rod? Saw on the Daiwa Fuego rod description informing the rod is JDM style what does that mean?
  12. Im extremely OCD regarding saving the environment, I also pick up other people trash, hate to think that something left behind can hurt a bird or other animal… I’m so concerned about that when I lose a bait I blame myself so much to the point that the fishing is over for me
  13. I’m starting to spend some time fish with spinnerbait, so far it was a waste of time lol but i have high hopes, basically im fishing in ponds and canals here in South Florida, my question is how the blades affect the places I’m fishing here in Florida, Colorado blades makes more sense? Why?
  14. Living in Florida don’t have much choice but prefer around 70-75 right now the water must be around 200 ?
  15. Mike and Zona are too loud for me to enjoy but still respect their work
  16. Living in South Florida i throw my baits wherever I see some water lol
  17. Actually just received an email that they shipped day after I made the order, good experience
  18. Anybody had any experience buying lures directly from the website rat-l-trap.com (Bill Lewis website)? made a purchase a few days ago and I can't see nowhere on the website to check the order, they take how long to ship?
  19. I imagine that the possibility of a bass get gut hooked is higher with live baits
  20. He is all about live shiners now
  21. Here in Florida the lake of the moment is headwaters is where everybody is going to catch big bass, at the same lake there is a live bait (shiners) fever, all the guides and occasional fishermen are using live shiners. Have some friends who like me prefer artificially baits that left the lake disappointed, not even senkos worked for them. It looks like the excess of live bait use are making the bass very selective regarding artificial lures.. for those who don’t like to use live baits what to do in situations like that? In a lake that bass sees a lot of shiners is that possible they reject any kind of artificial lure?
  22. I guess that is one of the topics that is very divisive in fishing world like leader on braid, I can see that im not alone not changing the hooks except when needed like rust hooks etc… and I can’t say i lost a fish due to the hooks that came with the bait Just got this peacock bass today with a lipless cordell cranckbait with original disgusting hooks
  23. Do you have pictures of one of your baits with single hooks… this is interesting .., i try as much as i can to minimize fish trauma too, remove the barbs and all that but i know treble hooks can cause more damage but not so sure if a single hook will affect a lipless crank work
  24. This is interesting was talking to a friend that works at BPS the other day, about the real necessity of changing hooks on hard baits, on his point of view he says is totally unnecessary, we both never lost a fish because the hooks that comes with the baits are bad, he said this is just a way for hook manufacture companies make more profit and push the need to change hooks, initially this was just in case a hook got rusted or broken, but nowadays with youtubers pushing that all the time he said that BPS is selling a lot of treble hooks for people to change them on brand new baits. No sure about you guys but never ever lost a fish due to a hook that comes with the bait out of the package and this includes cotton cordells, rattle l traps etc..
  25. Jerkbait is a lure that i still need to learn how to work properly saw some videos that is totally possible that bass can hit a jerkbait if you just reel the jerkbait back to you like a crankbait, is that true? or it will depend on the jerkbait type/ body?
