Bass are soft plastic picky?
Not sure if I’m going to make myself clear here but I will try… Usually when and try 2,3 different soft plastics changing colors type etc and if I see that they don’t bite I will try something else, like a lipless crank etc… in my mind if they don’t get those soft plastics is because they don’t want soft plastic at all. Today I faced a situation like that in my neighborhood pond tried Senkos, Ol Monster, different Yum Dinger colors etc and nothing instead moving out from soft plastics decided to use some Creme Scoundrel that was forgotten in my tackle bag, to my surprise 3 casts = 3 catches. My question is Bass can be picky like that regarding soft plastics? Maybe I should try different kinds of soft plastics before trying another bait? Is that possible that they can notice difference on worms that look almost the same but have a preference for a specific worm like that?

Introducing fishing to a kid
My only concern targeting panfish here in Florida with small hooks and gulp worms is gut hooking a bass or getting a turtle , those turtles here run after any bait we throw on lakes

Introducing fishing to a kid
My friend kids wants to learn fishing, and i want to introduce them to the art, now i really want them to catch some fish so they don't get too annoyed, i know that bass could be hard for them at the beginning specially now (summer), I'm thinking about panshish or catching anything on the lake, what kind of bait i can use to achieve that? (we do not want to use live bait)

Issues with Daiwa Fuego
Thank you for the excellent posts here, im using silvermax and Daiwa on similar equipment , medium heavy rods (Bionic Blade) and using texas rigs with weight, and sometimes flukes (no weight) with flukes the situation is much worse, silvermax cast without any issues

Issues with Daiwa Fuego
Just got a Daiwa Fuego baitcaster saw good reviews on this one, and I only have issues with it can't cast far enough and no matter how i put the brakes this thing wants to backlash all the time tried to put on max and happened too, have 2 Abu Garcia Silvermax that i love it way less expensive than the Daiwa, and can cast far with them than with the Fuego, got a defective reel on this one is complicated like that?

Shaky Head X Texas Rig action
It's not that clear to me the difference between the 2 rigs, and the action, tried both and noticed that on both cases the worm stays up underwater What exactly is the advantage to use one or another rig? they look and feel the same to me

Fish activity during heatwave.
Here in South Florida looks like Bass completely shut down with the heat, they are hard to catch nowadays, and they stopped biting any kind of worm, got 2 on a Rat L Trap trying for peacock and that was it for the day

South Florida Bass Shutdown
Do bass shutdown in Florida in July? Went to 2 different lakes and 3 different ponds in 3 days and no bites at all, was shocked.. don’t remember this happening last year on summertime, what happens in summer that bass act like that here?

Heavy Wire Hook for Fluke?
Always saw recommendations to use heavy wire hooks with zoom flukes that is what I'm using for a long time a 4/0 EWG, until I decided to change to a light wire 2 days ago, the number of bites was higher, I assume is because the bait is lighter with a light wire hook and takes more time to reach the bottom? Also notices that I need to work the bait less with a light wire hook, now this makes sense? its a good a idea to switch to light wire hook after all?

Changing hook size
Thank you for the great advice, yes that is my idea on upsizing the hook too, to avoid this... my hook for general use is 3/0 I will change to 4/0 now

Changing hook size
This video is really good, and trust me I tried that to remove the hook, the problem is the fish already came to the shore bleeding, and I started to freak out I know that we have little time out of the water to do the "surgery" and the fact that he came already bleeding and I took some time to try to remove the hook caused the inevitable, like I said I blame the wind entirely for that, that is the first bass that died with me... and I'm the kind of guy that remove all the barbs from the hooks

Zoom, done?
Zoom is a strong brand in fishing universe I don't think they will go away

Changing hook size
Thanks for the advice , checking the line according to a stationary object is a good idea So getting a bigger hook makes no difference them or maybe using a heavy wire? (sometimes a believe heavy wire hooks damages the fish more than regular hooks)
-
Changing hook size
That is what I usually do, and without any issues, the problem here is the wind just too much, as soon as you reel to have a straight line , a huge belly on the line shows up again, and that is exactly what happened with this fish, reeled to make the line straight a wind gust came and at the exact time the fish got the bait, felt anything, just started to feel something when I tried to adjust the line again.

Changing hook size
Here in South Florida we are having an annoying wind, kind of wind that mess with fishing, went to my local pond yesterday and due to the wind I was unable to feel the bite, and sadly the bass was gut hooked tried everything to save him with no success, this ruined my day, first time that this happens to me and I blame the wind entirely, was using braid with Fluro leader Now I was using a 3/0 on a texas rigged Senko, going bigger like 4/0 or 5/0 - (maybe heavy wire) to avoid gut hooking is a good idea?
