  1. If its windy go Whopper Plopper, if calm go with a spook
  2. Rocks create ideal habitat fer craaws (Gman accent implied) because its ample cover. But they can use anything in the water for cover. Quick note - watching Gman on youtube can be a great drinking game. You drink whenever he says feller, critter, varmint, etc...
  3. Its wacky, but they just hit it.
  4. Spinning vs Baitcaster
  5. A spinning rod and a 6" robo
  6. The ever versatile senko!
  7. Soft plastic craws and tubes are favorites of the smallmouth bass
  8. I am bound to the bank or my canoe.
  9. Something under 6-3 would be phenomenal for me.
  10. I drift this in current. The deer hair head moves laterally. Is dynomite
  11. Yes I would recommend a Medium or Medium Light rod between 5-10" and 6'-3" long. I prefer a fast tip rather than an extra fast. And if you find it let me know. I want one too.
  12. Time for an official creek fishing update. In a 30 ft stretch of rocky shore dropoff to 7 ft depth on a city creek i caught a #2.68 smallie and lost 2 bigger ones on jumps. d**n. I like this 6' mlf HMG but the tip is slower and i ****** it up. I also landed a 27" pike there too. Im seriously thinking of a short StC LTB (spinning)
  13. All spinning rigs I like the line pick up and control better and i believe its easier to use in a wind. But i would like to learn the BC soon. Seems like the better gear for cranks, frogging and "walk the dog" though i have no personal experience.
  14. In a run along the Crowsnest River (near Calgary) my brother and i hooked 5ish trout. And to their credit every last one of them popped our mepps spinners by driving head first into a gravel bar.
  15. Ive never fished a bed with intent but i have taken a few while bank fishing the local creeks. The resident bass can get over 5# and they spawn in these smaller backwaters.
  16. In my opinion StC spinning rods historically run tip heavy and plain old heavier than other manufacturers. But they made a big deal about 'listening to customer feedback' when they launched the Victory series. Im assuming my MLF St C triumph would feel heavier than the Victory MLF
  17. BPS Hellgramite Hula grub 3" tube Senko/ Yum dinger Pit boss jr Swamp crawler Jackal archelon Berkley Flat worm Xzone slammer Kietech fat impact
  18. Mono is stiff and it floats so it doesnt foul up in the treble hooks like any limp line would as a lure tumbles thru the air. A loop knot allows the lure freedom to move.
  19. Mono with a loop knot for topwater
