  1. No question . . . spinnerbait.
  2. I thought everyone needed a Popeils Pocket Fisherman. ?
  3. Castaway 6'3" Spinnerbait Special Rod Quantum KVD 7.3:1 Ratio Reel Stanley Wedge 3/8 oz. Tandem Willow Leaf Spinnerbait in Baby Bass Color Un fortunately they don't make that spinnerbait in that color anymore. Caught a ton of fish on that bait over the years. You can burn it, slow roll it . . .
  4. Welcome. Watch out fer them gators when you's in Florida. ?
  5. Well there is the saying "Up the creek without a paddle" so I'm assuming that some creeks can be paddled. ?
  6. There's a 2001 21SS Extreme with a 200HP Evinrude on Craigslist just south of Clarksville TN. The longer boat would be nice on KY/Barkley. Don't know how far you're willing to drive but there is a 2003 Stratos ASX in Glasgow that looks pretty good. I'm in E'town so I'll keep my eyes open and PM you if I see anything that I think might interest you. Good luck in your search. P.S. If you want to PM me how much you're looking to spend.
  7. Like Way2 I think your motor might be a bit low. Also, as previously pointed out aluminum boats generally have a different hull design and aren't designed to run on a pad like a fiberglass hull. You want your motor to run most efficiently as it reaches close to it's maximum recommended RPM range. However, the ability to control the boat is the most important thing so everything you do should make it safer to operate. If your max RPM is 5200 then a lower pitch prop will give you an increase in RPM's. What I wouldn't do is change everything at once because if things don't get better you won't know what to change. I would: 1) Check the trim tab (it's right above the propeller). It may be angled and that is contributing to your steering torque problem. 2) Try a 20 or 21 pitch prop. This is going to get your RPM's up. It might not help the handling but at least your motor will be running closer to it's recommended RPM range. 3) Move the engine up one hole, or add a jackplate. Part of the problem with the increasing steering torque is that too much of the engine may be in the water and that's what's making it harder to steer. Do each of these one at a time. That way you'll know the effect each change has and whether to keep that setup or go back to your baseline.
  8. Towing wise I think you would be OK. Comparing the two boats, even though I know the Tracker has already sold, . . . 1) The Tracker was 1' longer than the Lund, which gives you more room in the boat and it would probably be a little bit smoother ride in choppy water. 2) The Tracker had console steering, the Lund tiller steering. 3) The Tracker had front and rear casting decks, the Lund doesn't. 4) The Tracker had some electronics (Garmin), the Lund doesn't. 5) The Lund has a slightly larger (50 HP vs. 40 HP) motor than the Tracker did. 6) The Tracker was a 1995 model, the Lund is a 1992 model, so it's a few years older. Priced the same but older boat with bigger motor. You didn't say what type of fishing your were going to be doing the majority of the time. If your main type of fishing is going to be bass then the raised casting platforms are going to serve you better. However, with two small kids the Lund, without the casting platforms is probably going to be a bit safer (harder for them to fall out of the boat). If it was me, because I bass fish mostly, I would pass on the Lund and keep looking.
  9. Hey, you were fishing. Even if you hadn't caught anything it would have been a good evening, because, hey you were fishing. ?
  10. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Questions to ask: 1) How many hours on the motor. 2) Does he have service records for the motor. 3) Are there any hull leaks. 4) How old are the batteries. 5) When was the last time the bearings on the trailer were serviced. 6) Any electrical issues. 7) Does it need new tires. I'm sure others will chime in with additional things to look for and ask about, but this will get you started. Also, I would never buy a used boat without first taking it out on the water and running it through it's paces.
  11. Don't know about you 813, but I usually add a hook to that setup. For some odd reason I've found that I catch more fish that way. ?
  12. Kentucky has the most miles of navigable waterways of any state. Everything from small lakes to Kentucky Lake. Small mouth, KY Spotted Bass, Largemouth. I live in the middle of the state and within 2 hours I can be at over 10 lakes. They are man made reservoirs so all of them have rivers that can also be fished.
  13. Welcome to the forum.
  14. Thanks. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I put a volt meter to the connections and it's getting power. All connections are snug but, still nothing.
  15. Installed a PS 22 Panoptix transducer on my ECHOMAP Plus 73sv. Went to the lake and it worked fine. Messing around with the bow panel and blew a fuse. At that time nothing worked on the unit. Put in a new fuse. Unit works properly but Panoptix is no longer shown as on option on the unit. Checked all the fuses again. Nothing blown. Checked the wiring on the Panopitx and it's fine. Connected to the back of the unit securely. Did two resets to factory settings, still no Panoptix. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? ? ? ?
  16. The recommended mount is the D-115-C. The larger the unit the bigger ball they recommend. I used a 111 for my ECHOMAP Plus 63cv.
  17. Get out of my picture of me and my bass you little twerp! ?
  18. You wear underwear! Commando or you're a wimp! ?
  19. After a storm you usually end up with blue bird skies and higher barometric pressure. I usually do better before a front goes through.
  20. Welcome to the forum.
  21. Pictures or it didn't happen. LOL! ? Post some when you get her home.
  22. Good luck. Let us know how it went.
