Must. Resist. Temptation.
Thanks for the perspective @Motoboss. Dont got it so I don’t got the full picture. As someone who doesn’t own a motor on my yak, I anchor quite a bit. Especially for deep water fishing

Advantages and Disadvantages
Yeah we all got our own situation in this hobby. I think we spend too much time worrying about how our situation compares to someone else’s

Must. Resist. Temptation.
I don’t think I would trade off spot lock. I don’t gots it, so I don’t have the full picture, but spot locking seems like a rather large advantage in a yak

How do “you” retrieve a lipless crank?
I’ve stuck my rod in the water while reeling crankbaits a good bit since it’s easy to do in a yak. The problem is, I lose a lot of sensitivity and feel

Bourbon (Whiskey) For Beginners?
@Koz I always enjoy a Knob Creek. I’ve not had Four Roses Single but Four Roses Small Batch is an easy reach. I always go looking for this bottle. It is $30

Fishing jigs in grass?
Yeah I figured, no problem. When I said a jig wasn’t amazing for grass and there are better options, I was saying there are better options than the Coda Apex jig, not the Siebert grass

Fishing jigs in grass?
Siebert grass, or Oldham jigs, or anything else Catt stated will work great

Anybody watching college football today?
2 interceptions to us and 2 missed FGs. One FG from 34yd. Idk Buckeyes you’re starting to concern me. Starting to think we actually have a chance over here….

Wow! What a nice job by hall staying inbounds after that interception, though!

Soft plastic colors
I’m the same as Pat. I don’t like green pumpkin by itself but spike-it or used with a jig that has some other color to it 👍🏻 Green pumpkin purple, green pumpkin red, green pumpkin blue are all highly productive

Fishing the same lures
A couple years ago, I was outfished by someone fishing a near identical shaky head 3:1 on a boat! I could not figure it out! Looking back, I believe the difference maker was casting accuracy and noise. He would make a soft flip cast with his spinning rod tight to docks and water willow. There would barely be a sound when his worm hit the water. I know better than to fish a shaky head behind that man!

2025 plans
I’m planning on a couple of kayak tournaments next year, but I’m likely heading overseas in the summer. If I haven’t met my goal for a DD this year, I’ll roll that over into next year when I’m not tournament fishing / prefishing. I don’t expect to be doing much fishing overall next year. I expect to be doing a lot of fishing next month

Fishing jigs in grass?
Too light a hook IMO

Fishing jigs in grass?
The Siebert grass jig lives up to its namesake. It’s a good grass jig. I mostly adhere to the Catt / Greg Hackney school of thinking when selecting a jig to use. I want the gap between the hook point and eye to be large. The Coda Apex jig is one of my favorites because that owner jungle hook is stout but sticky sharp and not super wide. Combined with the head design, this jig hooks fish really well. I rarely miss a fish on those. There are better options for grass, though Agree!!

Midway has clearance on it right now. It probably has been going on for a bit. Not eligible for current sales. Stocked on a 1000yd spool of 20lb. My go-to is Sunline Sniper but I’ll take Tatsu on sale, thank you very much. It is better line

Fishing jigs in grass?
Oldham's trailer hitch and oldham's eyemax are two jigs that fare well in grass. There are many others, but those are my preference. The type of grass matters! Some grass is not very conducive to fishing jigs. You better believe hydrilla and jigs go together like PB and J! Regarding technique, ripping a jig out of grass can produce bites, but it is usually better to ease it through the grass. @Catt explains it best. Please help out here Catt.
