  1. @bp_fowler I totally forgot the floating worm exists. Definitely a great thing to be throwing right now, thanks. Great day!
  2. @ol'crickety I fished for about 3 years in NY. I understand how it goes up North. I fished unpressured ponds with phenomenal bass growth, and it was still difficult to catch a bass over 6lbs. I managed 2.
  3. BFS what?
  4. One with cologne applied for scent One without cologne applied
  5. @ol'crickety absolutely Do not shy away from the larger worms though. Listen to T-Billy. I actually misread the water temps. I thought it was colder for some reason. I may have thrown huge worms in those temps. I can’t really remember
  6. @ol'crickety I really have no idea. Never tried the really huge worms in water that cold. I see no reason why they shouldn’t work, but I don’t have experience or knowledge to back it up, so I’m silent on this one.
  7. Alright that’s a wrap folks 🤓 Good work, Tim
  8. So much for telling myself to never order big swimbaits. Ordered 3 3:16 8” mission fish swimbaits - Hitch - Dark Hitch - Clear Lake Ghost
  9. While this wasn’t meant to be a thread to sing the praises of the Zorro short arm, I do love them. My night spinnerbait of choice. They are effective while BOB is still out, too.
  10. Rather expensive weekend. I lost 3 spinnerbaits, 2 texas rigs, and a jig in total I don’t even know how three spinnerbait in a single weekend is possible but here we are
  11. Gents (and ol’ crickety), A Zorro short arm spinnerbait with a power worm cut down as a trailer skips. I did not know this was possible. Happy dock fishing, Shad
  12. Oh yeah! I like a good bass caught with my feet firmly planted on the ground
  13. Generally if I can get a t-rig through it, I can get a jig through it. I love a jig in heavy cover. If it is really thick cover, treat it like heavy vegetation. Do not drag your bait across that stuff. Drop it in, work a little, pull it out. If you feel your jig start to hang, gently pull the jig over. You can also drop it and shake it on the far side of the obstruction, then do the same on the near side. The type of jig matters. Over time you will get a sense for how stiff weedguards need to be for working in timber. I do not fan mine out and leave them just reaching the barb when I pull it down.
  14. One lake I fish has crawfish that look like this. Yours may or may not look the same. For example, on a pond in NC that I frequently fished, some crawfish could be described by the color “green pumpkin red” while others looked similar to “blue craw” or “green pumpkin blue.”
  15. Well done @Woody B!!
  16. @thediscochef is feeling the same pains. Worse for him actually, since he bank fishes
  17. Water level fluctuations. My local lake rose 14ft. 10ft in one day.
  18. Ok A couple of examples
  19. I’ve tested this extensively and the bass prefer Dior
  20. And chiggers
  21. @ardeact yes, use a craw style jig trailer. I never had much luck with the worm trailers. Not to say this doesn’t work, but it doesn’t for me. Z craw is a good starting point. Rage craw is good. Zoom ultravibe speed craw is good. Berkeley chigger craw is good. Try one of those.
