  1. I am all into terminal tackle. This is what works for me
  2. It’s in the beard
  3. @gimruis Okay, sounds cool. I brew at 1 heaping tablespoon grounds per 3oz water in a pour over. YMMV
  4. I know you wanted me to return to night fish on the new moon, but weather did not permit. That lake rose over 10ft as well. I need to look around in daylight again, now. It’s a whole different universe there. How many hard or shell bottom areas can I remember when the water was low? 🤔
  5. Scouting is the deal though Know thy water - Sun Tzu, probably
  6. Are the beans fresh if you got the whole bean? They should be very oily. Make sure it’s a recent batch and that it’s well within the freshest by days. It is super strong coffee But yeah, if you don’t like it, no sweat. We all got different taste buds.
  7. Toasted bagel with an overeasy egg sandwiched in there and some cream cheese mixed in. Two more overeasy eggs on the side.
  8. Indeed. I did not expect the rugged Muskie chaser to indulge in yogurt and almonds. Maybe that’s his secret to fishing prowess. I finally found the Major Dickason’s whole bean coffee in a Walmart of all places. Absolutely bouncing off the walls off that stuff. All that’s missing is the ‘fishing’ part of ‘pre-fishing breakfast’. 😔
  9. I’ve been nothing but impressed with the falcon rods that I have Falcon Expert Head Turner x2 Falcon Expert Amistad
  10. I didn’t know you still exist Hey, why can’t I catch a bass at Somerville? Message me please to avoid hijacking this thread.
  11. @Deleted account you need to stop playing peekaboo with us and just stick around…
  12. If he is at home with family and can’t help but think about how nice it would be to have a fishing trip to himself, how present is he? From reading his post, I got the impression that he at least had some time to spare. One of the largest issues I notice with my peers and even those older than me is that people have issues caring for themself or even clearly articulating what it is they want for themself. Rather, they are guided into a path in life that others choose for them. Sometimes it’s even difficult to realize this is happening. Family is maybe the most important thing in this life. And friends do make experiences better. Just don’t forget about yourself along the way. P.S. I respect your opinion because you are much older than I, and everyone else here should listen to your words the same.
  13. 😂 they work! Super great bait. But holy smokes is it slow fishing. Matter of fact, I was working a Marina on my last trip with a senko on a free rig. I kept telling myself that I should go back through with a weightless one after I was done in case they wanted a slow fall, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I’ve thrown senkos down to 20ft and they will smoke fish
  14. You know, I actually did throw a rather large senko on Senko de Mayo I didn’t catch anything I think the bass were drunk
  15. Be comfortable setting boundaries and telling people no. One idea is to set aside a day in the week where it is ‘me time’ where you can enjoy your long fishing trip. Make sure those who fish with you understand that that is your day to fish alone. They’ll understand. There are other days to fish with them
  16. Dislike: Chatterbait. It’s just weird. Can’t stand using: Weightless senko. Shoot me now. Can’t catch bass on: flukes
  17. Great. Bait monkey is informed now and he won’t be quiet
  18. Oh. Chatterbaits. Yeah those things are weird. Uh, hop them on the bottom or something. On a straight retrieve just use spinnerbaits or something. They’re cooler or something.
  19. As a spinnerbait fanatic who does spend a lot of time analyzing the baits I throw, I am going to recommend Don’t Over Think It
  20. What is fishing, but a game of should I be here or should I be there? I circle back a lot on the same places just to test timing and I don’t feel comfortable in a place unless I feel I know exactly what I am casting at. I never just pull up to a point and say ‘well I’m on a point so now I’ll just cast anywhere’.
  21. I have dropped my phone into the lake as well. Even went swimming for it. Couldn’t see crap. Then told myself I only dropped my phone into the lake to see how hard it was to remount my kayak. Went home. It was a great day.
  22. Actual mats? I punch with 50 or 65lb braid and a heavy rod. Most of the time 65lb. You are a little underpowered there. You can give it a shot, but I think you will run into issues.
  23. Second trip DD hunting, another skunk LOL. My fault for picking Somerville. Weather nasty tomorrow in my usual spots. If I go tomorrow I’ll probably just spend a day graphing some of Lake Brownwood Great fish y’all!
  24. I’m sure there are many who will disagree with me here, but I am going to go out on a limb and say they are not close. In the zoom line, at least. Beyond the flake color, the shade of red is different. Plum is more of a red-purple while red bug is closer to actual red. Red bug is a little brighter, too
