  1. If I could only have one I would use the 7“. I didn’t fish it enough last season. The 7” will get you better bites. Try the Gambler version
  2. I don't know about all this but forcing someone to pick one spinnerbait to throw should be illegal
  3. Pat and Alex carry. The rest of us just do doughnuts around the lake and sip on sweet tea whenever someone asks if we are catching. Disco likes to catch a 7lber every so often to keep us on our feet.
  4. I haven’t fished a “floating worm” setup in a long time. It’s difficult to find a reason to throw it.
  5. Good finish @Bluebasser86! I really enjoyed following this
  6. Hey for real, what is this gif? I just found it, lol. Cracks me up
  7. Hey, I know I’m not the man in the arena right now, but you are still in this! Who cares about what everybody else is doing? Do your thing! We believe in you and we got your back.
  8. That’s an interesting take I think I agree
  9. I think it just changed. The “home” page on Bassmaster says lines out at 3:15 CT. I think they are still fishing
  10. @Bluebasser86 currently in 11th!! GET EM BLUE!!!
  11. *Caveman noises of approval*
  12. Do stuff that makes sense
  13. On a chartreuse and white spinnerbait tossed on a whim. That is just too awesome
  14. Some things I’ve found, in no particular order: - A shorter distance from line tie to head hangs less. - A hook that is too large pulls the spinnerbait down; I don’t like this. - While other spacing combinations work, my “go to” for two blades is to space out the two blades so that when you let the two blades hang vertically, the end of the front blade just barely does not overlap the second. - Using flatter blades can be very effective at times since they turn in a wider arc and start quicker. The wider arc creates an illusion that the spinnerbait is larger. - Compact spinnerbaits work better in the “extremes” of the year. This is heat of the summer and dead of winter. - I also have less misses on compact spinnerbaits. I think this is because on a bait with a long arm, the attracting blades are farther away from the hook. - A bait with a wide head will actually wobble a little on the retrieve. Think Zorro. I agree that ball bearing swivels are a must and that you should use look for blade combinations not on store-bought baits. When you find something that is a little different that works, you will know it. Lastly, I think we already had this discussion once but I usually use silver blades in clear water and gold/copper in murky/muddy. There are exceptions to the rule. Trophy Bass Co Ozark Flash spinnerbait is a unicorn and a good one, at that. The blades are half and half - white and hammered gold. That spinnerbait can get some bites in clear or dirty water.
  15. Thank you for sharing. Good looking bait
  16. What spinnerbait did he win with?
  17. I also agree with five and a half pounds But do any of us really know for sure? Bring a scale, you knucklehead Great fish and congrats!! 😃
  18. I have made up many as well. Best way to get exactly what you want. I don’t really feel like contributing to a long conversation about spinnerbait design since that’s not what this thread is about and the OP did not ask for it, but for anyone curious, there are plenty of spinnerbait threads over the past few years where we went very far down this rabbit hole. There is a lot that goes into spinnerbait design and every detail matters.
  19. Oh we’re getting deep into this huh?
  20. That’s what I don’t like about Stillhouse sometimes, being that it is so clear. The fish will relate very loosely to cover sometimes. It’s like this: ”Fish, you are not relating to anything” ”Yes I am” ”Prove it. What are you relating to?” ”That tree over there” ”That tree?” (Points 50 yards away) ”No, that tree” (Points with a fin to a tree 1 mile away”
  21. Tried the Yamamoto Ichi worm bank fishing quick after work today. I pitched it into trees. Found it difficult to keep from hanging. Lost three rigs and had two bites that felt like massive fish but must’ve not hooked them good. Felt head shakes on one before shook me off. Back to the drawing board on the proper setup with this worm. Probably need to use a different hook and rod.
