@gimruis just wait until I break out my sunglasses. I have a feeling the fashion police is going to…. Have an issue with them. Y’all were spared from them my last trip because the sun never showed itself. Absolutely nasty weather. There’s a reason I picked spinnerbaits.

Help-Mental Block about muddy Water!’
Newly muddy water is tough water for me, particularly if the water is normally a lot clearer. After the water has time to stabilize, I have a much easier time fishing it. Muddy water regardless of whether it is newly muddy or it has been for a while… make multiple casts to the same target from different angles. Accuracy is very important. Don’t be afraid to try a senko fished slow. I can’t make sense of it but it works sometimes. Your other lure suggestions are on point. As far as encouraging stories go, I got two 6 lbers in super muddy water in NC shortly after rain. I just had to switch to plastics and fish slow (on those particular days, could always be different). Give it a try! You may wind up having a great day.

Is Stanley being discontinued? I went looking to check availability of them and TW has them on clearance with the Stanley website saying they are temporarily not taking orders.

I believe it is good practice to make the weedguard and skirt a little longer than personal preference just in case the user likes them to be longer. It’s difficult for me to quantify how long I Iike skirts, but the weedguard I always want to just reach the barb of the hook when I fold it down - no longer

Favorite spinnerbait rod recommendations
While not necessary, a rod that is sensitive is helpful for spinnerbaits. It becomes more difficult to feel a spinnerbait when it is moving slower or deeper. Some people may prefer a fast action for spinnerbaits. I prefer a moderate fast and heavy monofilament with a tight drag. When I feel a fish bite, I tend to be very fast on the hookset with spinnerbaits. A moderate fast with elastic monofilament slows me down. The tight drag is to provide enough force to force down the wire, if necessary, and to get the fish’s head moving in my direction. Finally, a shorter rod helps with accuracy. All of the above are reasons why the Head Turner is such a fantastic spinnerbait rod. It balances best with a 1/2oz spinnerbait, but can throw 3/8 or 3/4. I would not go heavier or lighter.

Today I set out with the goal to catch at least 15lbs of bass throwing only spinnerbaits. BLUF: mission accomplished with 19.2lbs, best five weighing 15.6lbs. I threw 7 different spinnerbaits and 3 of them produced. I launched the kayak twice and dodged a thunderstorm, beaching the kayak and waiting it out. My strategy was to try and pinpoint where on the lake I thought a fish on a spinnerbait was darn near guaranteed. In order to go to all of these places, I had to launch twice. Strategy worked pretty good. I’ve refrained from showing the spinnerbaits in the fish’s mouth because some of them I very much want to keep private. Here’s best 5: (last one loading)

High end spinnerbaits
I like to buy quality spinnerbaits. They do not need to be overly expensive. A lot of my favorites are in the $9-12 range. Spinnerbaits are a summation of their components. A better swivel will ensure that the back blade turns at slower speeds and start up quicker. Better blades will keep their shine longer and provide a crisper feel. A good hook can save you some heartache trying to land a lunker. There are absolutely some spinnerbaits on the market that are expensive for no reason. There are also spinnerbaits that are expensive for a reason. To me, those are one of the best options under $8, currently. They aren't perfect for what they want to be but they are close.

This. This is the kind of contribution to this thread that the world needs I was looking back through older posts on here, and yeah I musta not been kidding, I really am crazy- Z hog jig
At the very least you’ll have opened the pack and given them a shot! @Catt is right anything works on the back of a jig. But I certainly have favorites- Z hog jig
@Fishin Dad first and foremost they get bit. I played around for a while with various “do nothing” beaver-style trailers. This is my favorite I’ve found. Stays on a hook well, skips great, good gliding fall, works fine hopping bottom too, gives good bulk to the jig. As @N Florida Mike mentioned, they are a good t-rig bait too. Caleb Kuphall won Guntersville years back punching mats with this bait.- Extra fast vs. Fast
