Bass fishing is getting harder?
Yes sir he has Seeing different regions and lakes is very educational. Also expensive because bait monkey tells you you need to entirely reoutfit

Ned Rigs Anonymous
Could be a regional thing. Shaky head in NC is a big fish bait, to my knowledge. I can’t speak for TX yet
-
Ned Rigs Anonymous
Ah yes. The Ned rig is a fantastic gateway drug. When you’re ready for something more… exciting… boy, you wouldn’t believe the rod bending action that a shaky head possesses. You may never go back to your ned rigs.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I did the same thing during the Black Friday sale last year, that I recall. I may keep my big restocks on this kinda half-year schedule Yeah, not the most fun, but I’ll be happy having plenty of hooks Of note, I am trying the super line version of Gamakatsu round bend offset hooks

what is happening to lakes where all the catches are dinks?
My PB is from an overpopulated lake. My previous biggest fish from the lake was no more than 2.5lbs. Seriously. 2.5. However, there were and still are rumors of near-DD and DD bass that hang around there.

Hydrilla
So do you know what bottom composition/hardness best facilitates hydrilla growth?
-
Hydrilla
Well I didn’t know that that is considered structure. Learned something new today
-
Hydrilla
I follow what you’re saying Varying height of the grass, perhaps?
-
Hydrilla
You know, I gotta say. For me, and the way I like to fish, cover and bottom composition is the cake, and structure is the icing. That still puts my focus on cover on structure. Just slightly different priorities Why do I feel this way? Because people still catch the crap outta em fishing grass with no structure

Hydrilla
Never saw that coming ? Seriously, thank you

Hydrilla
They’ve been turning their noses up at my spinnerbaits and I’m triggered I want to keep this focused on what to look for in the grass, not on techniques

Hydrilla
Hey y’all, Recently started fishing a hydrilla lake. It is not yet heavily matted, but grows out very deep. In some place out to 19ft. The water is very clear. I would say about 7-8ft visibility. I am asking for tips on fishing hydrilla. What to look for. This grass is new to me, but I love fishing it. I can pull and rip through it cleanly. I’ve been concentrating on the grasslines, but I also want to know what to look for in the shallower, thicker hydrilla. I believe there are a lot of fish that hide in the thick stuff during the day and then come out to the edges during darker periods.

If I wanted to fish with a live bluegill...
TRY IT Use a large circle hook just behind the dorsal fin. There’s a specific spot to punch the hook through there that still allows the bluegill to swim freely Ive tried with only a slip bobber (the ones Ive used were actually pretty small and only served to cause the bluegill to struggle a little more) and on a rig called the Santee Cooper rig. It is commonly used for catfish. Snell your circle hook, set drag a little tighter, and just post your rod up with some slack and wait for the bass to engulf it. Once you see the bass has it in her mouth, feed line to her and let her get the bluegill swallowed better. Make sure the bass has the bluegill fully inhaled before you start pulling. Do not wait too long though or you risk her swallowing the hook. A hookset is not necessary

Bass fishing is getting harder?
We're talking about respect for the environment. One doesn't need a mentor to teach them that. That's done through upbringing and other external and internal factors which are too broad for me to want to delve into. Has nothing to do with COVID
-
Bass fishing is getting harder?
Right but nothing separates the people who got into fishing during the COVID period and anglers who fished before COVID. Littering and keeping tiny fish probably seems more prevalent simply because there are more people
-
Bass fishing is getting harder?
Yeah I just don't see your logic behind this at all Edit: Actually, let me be as clear as possible. I think you have a bad attitude to people getting into fishing. We've presented lots of solutions to increased fishing pressure in this thread.
