Yeah one of my….. maybe not pet peeves but just things I don’t understand….. is when people respond to the question “what did you do this weekend?” with “Absolutely nothing. I just chilled!” Like they are proud of it or something. And then they may ask somebody like me what I did, and I might respond for four weeks straight with “I went fishing.” And then they just get this look on their face like “Dude, you should get a life.” What do you mean? I actually have a hobby. Something that I enjoy. So much so that I can do it every weekend. Course I work a job now and I may come home tired but I try to do everything I can to make time for the weekend. Take care of chores during the week. Not the weekend Rant over

Sure I’ll debate with you too, lol. I think if someone is looking for one spinnerbait reel for largemouth, and they choose anything other than a 5 speed, they are doing themself a disservice. That gear ratio, speaking in the most general terms, gives you the best ability to slow way way down, and to operate comfortably in the slow to moderate-slow retrieve speeds that allow most, but not all, of spinnerbaits on the market today to operate at their ideal cadence, what Captain Phil talks about. Jason Christie is considered by quite a few folks to be the best spinnerbait angler as far as touring pros go, and he prefers a 5 speed himself

Effective for punching and fishing deep hydrilla in warm water. Cbump may have comments besides these Living in Texas here for a while, I can say that everything here is bigger, including the tackle. Big jigs, big swimbaits, big worms, monster flukes. All very popular here. These Texans don’t screw around

When I was looking for a spinnerbait reel, I looked at the WhiteMax too No there isn’t So a thumper spinnerbait is a 2oz spinnerbait to you? I didn’t know weight had anything to do with it 20 or 25% difference in speed is significant, especially when the speed is already so slow

There’s not a lot of ground. Keep reeling, set hook. You don’t throw thumpers? True slow roll is a total crawl on a 5 speed. You likely cannot reach that with a high speed reel

It’s alright. I’ll try to get outside quite a bit now. Get myself acclimated to the heat before July and August hit. I did the same thing in Missouri when we had five straight days in triple digits and got myself very comfortable with the heat

Totally subjective the way I see it I think my preferred "big" worm is actually on the extreme small side of "big worms." Especially because of how thin it is. So to me, a worm 9" or larger, or 7" or larger with a lot of thickness... like a 7" senko
