  1. Actually whatever reel is filling the well at the time.... Low Profile : Tuned Shimano Curado Round : Tuned Garcia Ambassadeur Spinning : Stock Shimano Stradic Tight Lines All!
  2. E-mail me I know were there is 3 cans....
  3. Packard,That is such a foolish statement..... The AR Pawl is very important as a back up to the OneWay (AR) bearing pack. If the OneWay fails the Pawl is to keep the crank assembly from rotating backwards (on hookset, hard fighting, etc.) and possibly damageing the unternal parts of the reel or anglers cranking hand. The two parts when serviced correctly actually work in conjunction with each other (smoothly), making an AR system that is actually eons better than the other mfgs that you all keep measuring the need for on their reels. Shimano created the redundant backup for AR' that other mfgs wish they had come up with. Tight Lines! The AR Pawl has nothing to do with a reels ability to cast better, it is the industry standard assist to the oneway bearing.
  4. They never intended on the end user to remove the pin for servicing that spool support bushing/bearing.Shimano uses a punch press with a spool jig.............. Tight Lines All!
  5. Have service 100's of both. IMO............... They are basically the same reels inside, differance is bearing count and placement. Tight Lines All!
  6. Reason it is a little rougher with a clicking noise is because it is adjusted/lubricated WRONG when serviced. Yes it is needed.. I have pictures I have posted here that show the AR innersleave cracked causing AR failure, just from over adjusting Drags, and hooksetting on hard structure. I have pics of blown out AR bearing packs were the pins literally fall out of the bearing causing AR failures, from tight drags, super hooksets, etc.. So adjusted and lubricated the right way and you don't even know it is there....... So yes Shimano wouldn't put one there if it wasn't needed...
  7. Why????????? You do know it is the backup to the AR (Anti-Reverse) oneway bearing pack. If the oneway bearing fails on the reel, that dog prevents free release of the crank in backward rotation. Don't leave anything out of your reel, it is there for a reason.....
  8. Nope acetone soak @ 5min intervals, in a glass baby food sized jar.Blue tool removes engagement pin in spool shaft. Red tool Bearing Blaster
  9. No it's not normal The drags are sticking.............
  10. Sounds like you need to send it into Mike (DVT). Sounds to me like you have had the drags cranked down at one time and they have stuck. Mike (DVT) needs to brake the reel down and clean up the main gear.Send it in! Tight Lines!
  11. Found a schematic from a old Zebco/Quantum schematic book of mine. The 94 Brunswick Quantum SS1 was discontinued. It also isn't a schematic showing a long stroke spool. Usually on a discontinued reel after 6 yrs, the only parts you will find will be parts that actually crossed over to different series reels over time. This will also be when a part number is changed. Don't know the reels issue.... Tight Lines!
  12. Post the designator (SS) and model number and I can check my schematics (just a few thousand).... Tight Lines!
  13. Use this link...........http://www.quantumfi...ementparts.aspx scroll to the drop down list on the page and pick the model Snap Shot your looking for..... Tight Lines!
  14. X2In reel lubrication "Less is best" "Grease on gears oil on bearing ONLY" Tight Lines All!
  15. Which bearing is giving you the issue (noise). Is it the bearing under the cast control cap, bearing behind the spool engagement pin, or, the palming plate spool bearing?
  16. Check out this site he has all the info on this reel..http://www.scottsbt....pecs/penn67.htm Good Luck & Tight Lines
  17. What make are these reels ???
  18. Before you start your project. Look into getting a copy of Rod-Building Guide by Tom Kirkman. I don't know a Custom Rod Builder that didn't start with this guide, and doesn't have a copy of it in their library. It will get you started in rod building the right way! Good Luck & Tight Wraps!
  19. Yup and Mojo is made in Mexico, my point........

  21. I'm assuming this reel is a Quantum if it is a PT series reel I would advise the use of the Hot Sauce brand for it. They are built with a Teflon coated Hybrid bearings. They respond better to the Quantum lubrication, than Shimano or Daiwa' lubes as I have found. Watch how you disassemble the reels as they don't brake down like the Japanese reels do ... Any way you look at it your going to need the schematic for the reel and really well lighted work area. Good Luck.. Tight Lines All!
  22. When you make up your mind as to whether or not the reel did/didn't get wet. I stand by my remarks if you have never broken one down (especially Quantum) then send that Quantum in. You probably don't have any of the grease or oils that were originally used at time of manufacturing. Don't take the chance contact DVT and get it done properly............ Mike (DVT) if you are down south get your butt back into the shop and take care of these folks....
  23. If you have never taken one down then IMPO get it done properly, don't take the chance of losing/breaking any parts, you should send it in.........Contact Mike (DVT) Tight Lines
  24. CU101B series circa 1992-94 Discontinued Probably still has the very old Shimano grease in it. It needs a complete brake down and deep cleaned. The only fix is send it in and have some magic done to it.............. Good Luck & Tight Lines!
  25. All of the 200B series gear sets were running the $30.00 mark. But you cannot find them any longer, unless you have one of each in the gear ratios. All of my green Cu 201B' (5) are LH crank reels and I know you cannot find gear sets for them any longer... Good Luck & Tight Lines!
