For frame building pop rivets are just fine If airplanes can be built with rivets, so can’t your frame lol.

I ordered a frog order on a Sunday couple weeks ago. 5 days later it was still sitting ready to ship. I called and canceled after being put on hold 30 minutes , went to spro and had my order the day after next. Tackle warehouse is still having some pretty heavy issues. Hope they get resolved one day, they used to be my go-to.

I’ve had both experiences where nothing has happened and I’ve also had the elaztech warp my planos. Just a very PITA material

Tried searching but haven’t turned up anything. Anyone have any experience with elaztech and the Flambeau Z rust cups? I got the crank bank to store frogs and have a couple spro flapping frogs that use that elaztech crap you’re not supposed to mix with other frogs. 1). Will the elaztech eat the cup? 2). If no, think the cup is adequate separation?

I detest anything with a treble hook. I don’t get why standard LH reels aren’t the standard for right handed fisherman. I really don’t like how much electronics and tournament fishing drives this sport. I like black and blue 10” worms. I like the way a 1/4 oz weight casts I’d rather fish for bream than drop shot.

I simplified quite a bit. I got two speed bags for my plastics. One is for the go-to’s and the other for secondary stuff. I have a plastic ammo can for second bags of stuff I really like. I got one 3600 for tackle and a frog box and spinner bait box. If I can’t catch them on a Texas right, fluke, frog, or spinner bait I’ll catch a buzz in the cooler.

I’ve caught the majority of my fish over 4 lbs on a black Ol monster. but I’ve caught most of my fish over 6 on a frog. ‘dunno

So all told, turns out my wife was less than thrilled me and her daddy stuck a Abu Garcia pro max on her rod in place of her push button. So she’s getting her push button back and her daddy is getting the pro max. Everybody is happy now.

I may just get a Daiwa Fuego. Those are my go to for my own fishing.

Trying to find a cheap (50ish or below) frog reel for my father in law to frog fish with. He isn’t one to spend much on freshwater, but he liked fishing frogs last fall but I told him his zebco 33 combos won’t get the job done. Im giving an Abu pro max 7’ MH that was gathering dust. Hoping to find a cheap real that’ll get the job done.

GA DNR shocked a bass two years ago that was 8lbs and shocked it again last year at 13. 5 lbs of growth in one year, granted that place is completely set up for bass growth.

That’s crazy, but can see where super line hooks need more force. I stick with the standard Gama hooks, and embedded the point into the jaw bone with mono. But those standard hooks don’t require nearly the same force.

I misworded that, sorry if it offended any. I am interested in how the line didn’t have enough hooksetting power though? Was it breaking on hookset? Hook not burying?

Care to elaborate? Unless the line broke on hookset, I don’t think the line would keep the hook from burying.

I think another thing lost here is what kind of line you use makes a difference. I’ve tested 12 lb big game against 15 lb tatsu and the tatsu broke first every time. What a lot of people use 20 lb fluoro for I’d venture to bet 12 lb big game and definitely 15 lb big game would hold up just as well.

Ive seen bass teeth abrade line that could cause a break on a future hook set, but never any that plain cut it.

Unless it’s punching or frogging I don’t really see the point in high test lines. You get bit far more on lighter lines and with well set drag and decent skill playing the fish you should be able to land them no problem. I don’t have an impressive list of DD fish, or even one for that matter. 12 lb big game hasn’t had any issues fighting any of the fish I’ve caught, even around vegetation
