  1. Good for them! I hope it has some impact.
  2. Very nice, all. Sigh, I used to do this stuff too, until I turned the hobby into a business. Now I don't do photography as a hobby anymore. B&W was my true passion.
  3. Might as well throw the gun AT 'em. Where's Barney Fife when we need him? ;D

I never noticed my computer running slower, except when i have several memory intense programs like Photoshop running at once. Right now firefox is using about 74,000K of memory. I have a lot of other stuff running in the background but I'm not sure what I can close to free up resources. Once I started using Firefox, I never looked back at IE
  5. I have "golfer's" elbow in my left arm, but not from golf. Mine is from holding and locking my camera rig all these years. According to my chiropractor, "tennis" elbow is on the outside of the joint, "golfers" is on the inside. He suggested a wrap that goes on the forearm and takes some of the stress off the elbow. Supposedly they can be found at Wal Mart, though I haven't purchased or tried one yet. I also have pain in my left hand in the pad underneath my thumb.
  6. You should be up here in PA. 19 degrees the other morning. Everything still iced over. Upper fortys and rain for the next few days, should start melting, I hope. Next person that says there is global warming, i think I'm gonna bust 'em. ;D
  7. Right, focus on the target, don't aim. We used to tell kids in baseball, don't aim the ball, focus on the catchers glove.
  8. Anyone know why rods aren't shown on the Abu website? http://www.abu-garcia.com/
  9. For years I had a recurring dream that I was getting ready to take a college final exam and I couldn't remember where the room was. I then remembered that I had forgotten about the course and hadn't attended any classes.
  10. The depressing part is that we, as the consumers, don't seem to be able to do anything about it. We ought to have some power somewhere.
  11. I think these stunts would get you arrested, shot or worse.
  12. Catt highlighted this in his response and the question still remains. If the knot was still on the line, where did the line break?????
  13. some of those will probably get you arrested, shot, or worse. ;D #69 is a classic.
  14. I have one, in a spinning rod. 6'6' M. I like the rod a lot. It was my upgrade from the ugly sticks and Rino rod I started with. Nice weight, balance, action. Not comparable to some higher end rods but for $40. I think its great.
  15. Ours just jumped 10 cents today. 3.299 for reg, and unfortunately, the end is not in sight. That's ok, I didn't want to eat this week anyway.
  16. I found this map very interesting. http://www.californiagasprices.com/price_by_county.aspx
  17. Makes ya wonder, don't it.
  18. Dickies
  19. You probably needed a BIGGER hammer ;D
  20. Be very careful buying from some of the NY stores. Very low prices often mean gray market products, those not meant for sale in the US. Manufacturers will not honor warranties on those products. I used to have some issues with film that was manufactured in the US, shipped overseas, then shipped back again. No control over temperature or conditions and often the color had shifted to the point where it was not correctable. Obviously we don't have that problem any more with digital but I did once unknowingly buy a gray market camera. It was defective and I had no end to the problems trying to get it repaired. For good deals on used equipment, try www.KEH.com. I purchased a lot of used pro equipment from them, never had a problem.
  21. I have the 6'6" Clarus, M MF like you are considering. I purchased it late last year, so I really haven't had the opportunity to fish it a lot. I compared many other rods, including Gander Mtns. The Shimano won out for weight, balance, action, in the store. I had my Revo SC on it last year and, the little bit I fished it, it threw cranks a mile and handled nicely. I didn't like the real high speed of the Revo so I have since put a Cabela's Prodigy on it, but haven't fished it yet. Winter hangs on.
  22. I read this. Only confirms what I've always known, and I'm no scientist, there's no man made global warming. Period. Doesn't it seem strange that most everyone you talk to agrees, except for some scientists and a lot of our elected politicians, who are trying to ram the global warming theory down our throats, for some unknown reason. We're being led around like lambs to the slaughter. Hopefully the tide is beginning to turn on this hoax and it will be shown for what it is. Goes for oil prices too.
  23. Fence or no fence, their cable was too short (and so were their brains) I'm amazed at all of the people standing around and no one saw this coming. Duhhhhhhhh.
