  1. Sure would love to know under what circumstances these laws were passed.
  2. What style and size of hook is generally used?
  3. So? ;D Mo' money Mo'money Man what I wouldn't give to have some Musky destroy a Jitterbug. I'd release the Musky and mount the lure on the wall. ;D
  4. For musky...and sure enough it worked. Did you use any kind of a steel leader, or just tie direct? Picked up 9" rainbow trout and alewife today at Dick's, for $4.97 each. I want to try the rainbow in our river for northerns.
  5. After all this, I'll add my .02. I have had MIXED success with RT baits. I, too, balk at the price some because I have found if a fish destroys the nose, it's pretty well shot. I have tried gluing and heating but it seems to make the bait too hard. So, new bait x fish slamming it = $1.00 lost. Now, I was fishing a frog the other day, being sure to rig it as straight as possible and I just couldn't keep that thing from turning over, unless I fished it real slow. I have no idea why I couldn't keep it right side up. I have yet to get even a bite on an anaconda. My most successful RT bait has been the space monkey, but only in green pumpkin. The other colors have not worked for me. I've been wanting to try the rooster but cannot find any in my local stores. I tried the shad and had some success with that after I boiled the baits to soften the tail. Initially he tail flopped to one side, causing it to spin like a corkscrew. This was before the clamshell packaging to keep the action correct. I just picked up another color of the anacondas, on sale, to try, figuring that may be why I haven't gotten a bite. Anyway, like I said, mixed success. I know you have to be where the fish are, and being shore bound, that ain't always the case. I don't get out a lot and I'm sure not in areas where some of the fish shown in this thread are. I don't consider myself an experienced angler when compared to some of the guys on this forum. That may be part of my limited success as well. I'll keep some Rage Tails around, probably just the space monkey, since that's been my best producer. I'll try the Rooster, if I can ever find any.
  6. I get mine at Dick's. They carry a good selection. Not nearly the full Sluggo line though.
  7. I have been using the Texposer hook (also by Lunker City) instead of just a straight offset hook. It is imperative that the sluggo be rigged perfectly straight. I like them because they are slow to sink and I can work them nicely over weeds. The texposer seems to add a little bit of keel. Had a nice Crappie try to eat a 4" sluggo the other day. Anybody ever try the 9" version?
  8. Easy Rider, one of my favorites. Dennis was also excellent in Giant, and Apocalypse Now. Great movies, great actor.
  9. Sluggo, very easy to achieve side to side gliding.
  10. Bought a package of the spade tail worms. I confess I haven't used them much (no time) and so far no luck with them. Kinda pricey, I think.
  11. What do you guys use or reccommend? I looked at the froggtoggs, but didn't like several things. One, the hood is too small. I wear glasses and want something to extend out over my forehead, but not as much as some others I saw that were made for wearing a ball cap under the hood. Another thing I didn't like about the froggtoggs is that there are no pockets in the jacket. Froggtoggs seem mismatched when it came to jacket size v. pant size. Large jacket too small, XL good but XL pants waaaay to large. I'm looking for something light weight, breathable, wind and water proof, generous cut in the jacket for layering if necessary. Pants could come with as a suit or at least I would like to find pants that would match if made by another manufacturer. Reasonably priced, I don't need any $200+ gear, I'm not a pro in frequent wet conditions. Just something to keep me dry on the occasional wet day.
  12. Cute as the dickens. My wife will be over shortly to get 1 or all 4. ;D We had seven cats, we're down to four. (I think you ought to keep them)
  13. Now there's a real lady......................NOT!
  14. Sad how many professionally written articles contain these mistakes.
  15. That could be symbolic.
  16. Actually, flying the American flag upside down signals distress. However, flying ANY flag above ours, in this country, is a big no-no.
  17. 30 days in the slammer and banned from games ought to be about right.

You can do a deduction on your 15% self employment tax. 50% of it. I do that. But remember, I'm only deducting that 50% of the tax from my total income. All I'm really saving is the income tax on 50% of the self employment tax, not 50% of the tax itself. Its a gotcha.
  20. Yep, and I've got every one of those tools, too. They all work exactly as reviewed.

Ideally one should owe a few bucks. Being self employed, I not only owe tax but the whole 15% self employment tax as well. That is a killer. >
  22. That is one big fish.
