Coming from growing up in north dakota and joining the military then being sent to Gulfport Miss for combat training and war games in the swampy back 40 was really a shock to my system. I felt so greasy and sticky that i kept pouring my canteen water over my head and shirt to feel better. When we finally finished up the wargames and got to take a real shower the water was i think soft water so it felt like the soap wasnt washing off my skin and when i did step out of the shower the humidity hit so hard it felt like i did before the shower, miserable.

i stole my wifes fingernail polish and she ended up helping me paint gills and eyes on my swimbaits and trailers. unpainted berkley grass pigs caught me 5 pounders on a ewg keel weighted #5/0. Now painted up will see what happens.

i have never been stuck with a trebble, just poked good but i may now buy one of those fish grabbers as my luck may run out in 2021. My biggest problem with trebbles is always getting them stuck in my fishing gloves and have to cut the glove to get it out. Also today i was putting a feathered treble hook on a large spook and i dropped the lure onto the carpet floor and had to fight with it to pull it out. cool, i may just do that to a lipless and give it a try. Maybe do it to a square bill also.

the days i dont drive to my favorite lake which is 50 minutes away i plan on putting some effort to fish my towns Red River as its only 8 minute city drive away. There are unlimited spots i can bank fish from through out town as i just have to park my car on a street and walk down or fish from a park it runs through. But again it will really be determined on how many lures i lose in the mighty red compared to the amount of fish i catch and the fun factor.

Breaking Bad is a great show in my opinion, i never watched it when it ran on tv but heard so much about it that i binged watched it for the first time in 2016 after the series ended its run in 2013.

not a fan of new tv shows for the past 5 years, i get all my tv watching of of pirate sites. But when i workout and do yoga every morning i do watch the 1960s Tombstone Territory, Bat Masterson, Hazel, I dream of Genie and Bewitched.

i keep my spinning reel drag with #30 braid tight and then loosen it as my senses tell me.

grew up myself fishing the red and all i caught were bullheads, carp, goldeneye, catfish and sheepshead. But i was a kid who used a rusted lug nut for a weight and strictly worms. I joined the military out of high school and said goodbye to the red river and now i have returned 40 years later and i tried to fish it last fall but other than a couple northerns following my spinner to shore i caught nothing. I tried jerkbaits and square bills rubbing the concrete slabs placed below the south dam while reeling in, then plastic craws because i always caught craws on my worms as a kid. I threw alot of baits out ther but no luck but again this was late fall and where the pike are holed up i dont know as thats what i was wanting to catch. Yes i did get snagged and lost a couple lures. Many serious walleye guys are out in the evening into the dark by the north and south d**n trying for walleyes even last week before the cold spell the water was still open below the damns and a couple guys were fishin and the one guy claims he caught a 13 lb walleye in october. I watched a guy catching golden eye this summer one after the other on a small tiny hook using worms and he had a 5 gallon bucket half full of them and according to the internet they are eatin by many people and taste good. This spring i will try the river for pike after the spawn and maybe have some fun. 7 minute drive to the red river. 35 minutes to closet lake and 55 minutes to favorite lake which is surrounded by 5 other lakes 10 minutes away in all directions. Minnesota has lots of lakes not even developed that are a great escape from boats and crowds and they dont have boat ramps and are great for wader fishing.

i put my phone in the car or if its in the tackle box its on airplane mode, i am out to enjoy fishing and not worried about phone calls.

go to your local gym and get on a treadmill, this was my gym in the philippines and the new treadmills worked great.

when wading i am only carrying 1 spinning rod reel setup a 6-6 mf. My tackle pouch is full of all different size lures. I put on the heaviest lure and let her rip and if rod breaks than i learned a lesson but so far the ugly stick Carbon with the solid core tip has survived throwing the big spinners with trailers.

here it was 10 below zero today at 2pm, windchill brought it down to -30 and my car battery failed me. Car was plugged in but battery of course was ice cold and sits outside and hasnt been started in 3 days. Jumped battery with a portable booster and went to wallmart and bought an Everstart Maxx for $129.00. Watch this battery comparison video for good info.

turned it on minutes before kickoff and after hearing the message i turned it off. Not my superbowl and not the first or last one i purposely walked away from.

i fished my senkos rigged using the keel weighted hook and works fantastic. Also put a big berkley grass pig on the keel hook and caught bass pulling it through the weeds.

i write with a black marker on the bottom for example 0-6 for depth, flot for floats, and sus for suspend.

wife wants me to tell ya all to grow a pair.
