my brother had a SLX rod. I snapped it in half for him using it for Striper. I was horrified and apologetic. he said, "nah..I kinda hated that rod". I was phew, "I didnt want to say anything" I did not jive with that rod. it was stiffer than I imagined. all throughout. it was odd. I sent him a Dobyns and we are good again.

I drove friggen far yesterday for work. drove my work Tesla model 3. which is the cheap model. 270 mile range. I had to stop to refresh. it took 20 minutes and I was on my way. I had some hot soccer mom taking to me and asking me when my job got them. I joked with her and..nevermind. you had to be there. charging is fun, and we chat with total strangers. once you wrap your brain around it is no big deal. my wife's Tesla is the long range versions and it is more enjoyable. it goes 300 miles before we recharge. and that is about EXACTLY how far my tacoma goes before we refuel. our Tesla we just plug in at home and go to sleep. It is ZERO inconvenience. I would argue, going to Costco to buy less expensive gas is the way bigger PITA. by a mile.

I love all the accouterments of fishing. but if I am being frank, it is mostly about catching fish.

physically my 1000 and 2500 are close in size. I think a 1000 will handle a 3lb bass. you can't choose incorrectly here. not in my opinion.

dont worry at all. these guys will tell you exactly what rod you need and maybe 4-5 you dont need but should have, nevertheless. not including the ones way above your price limit. get ready to pull out your Yen to dollar conversion. team...GO!

you my friend are a badass. coffee is more social for me. talking with my wife with a hot mug, or friends and coworkers. well, that is how it started. now I can't seem to commute to work without my travel cup.

I had a "thing" Jan and Feb. part of it was that I couldn't sleep. I quit coffee cold turkey. I cut out anything that resembled caffeine. chocolate, some teas etc. once all that BS was mitigated. I slowly started up. dang it if that first cup after a two month coffee-ban wasn't a total elixir of luxury. it was so delicious! now, I am one cup. maybe a half cup "reheat". but that is it. my office has a hot pot going all day long. I dont visit it ever and stopped contributing to the coffee fund altogether. you? how much?

one of my most magical days of fishing. gin clear water. (it isn't now). I could see stumps underwater. maybe 15 feet deep. I would see a stump, back pedal my kayak away and send in a worm. even tho the stump was visible, the bass was not. but it was almost 100%. I could count down the worm sink and BAM! so much fun. I have never seen the water like that ever again. some stumps were on the bank high and dry. they were like movie prop stumps. big stump, caves underneath formed from the splayed out roots. it was crazy. now I just cast blind. way less luck.

when they were first announced..I think MSRP was $45k. they backpedalled that like a politician caught with a porn star. I dont know what it is now.

I have a tiny tube stuck to the bottom of my kayak box right now. hahah..I should pry it off before the new season.

they make those in my general area. I see lots of them. I like them, but they won't fit my life. I need a longer bed and longer range for my kayak fishing. I dont think ANY of them have caught fire, but I do like the stories. our Tesla has also been flame free. Tesla is still the game to beat for me. ours does 340 miles if needed on a single charge. I am on the waitlist for the Cybertruck. 500 mile range. no lake is out of reach. none. none I want/hope to fish. but in the meantime. I will drive my very old Tacoma. as a matter of fact, I am gonna get gas today.

I want to do one of those airboat Nutria hunts. seems like "country fun" for a city guy like myself. I heard they are delicious. dunno. invasives are a problem. but I heard Snakeheads are not that detrimental? I want to catch one badly.

I should probably start learning some aquatic plants stuff. I think I know what Hydrilla is from my aquarium days. but some of the others....????

annoying grass. with our recent drougts. the water level is low. ( I am no plant biologist). but I think this means the sunlight hits the bottom of the lake easier and the grass grows wild. sadly, the bass LOVE this grass. I punch probe the depths and rip stuff thru. neither technique is my strongest.

I think i was 14. 30.06. I had an old weaver scope. I took a Craftsman screwdriver and installed the thing. I kinda beer canned the scope tube. DUH. my mom drove me to the weaver shop. we lived in El Paso, and that so happened to be the Weaver location. the dude at the shop looked at what I did, and silently removed the scope from my rifle. he told my mom and I he would fix it. I think he found an old tube and swapped it out. he told me to take it to Chuy, a gunsmith. they already talked. Chuy showed me what I did wrong. he lined up the mounts and lapped it a tiny bit and installed everything and asked me if I wanted it bore sighted. and explained what that even meant. I told him I would remove the bolt and stare down the barrel and line it up myself. he grinned and sent me home. I dont know what my mom paid him. but Chuy taught me stuff. that weaver was the dullest darkest scope I have ever seen. even with young eyes. but dang if wasn't a jackrabbit long range sniper. I bet I still have that scope somewhere. it was JANKY.

I will continue to save water for myself. like money we shouldn't spend all our water at once. just this one opinion. I dont think surface water is the thing. how do we get this to restore our underground sources? I can't imagine a few months will do it. but this rain has been epic. my job is heavy highway construction and we are spending MILLIONS fixing crap. my lakes are full. Shasta is up something like 90 feet? where I camped last year is way under water. I finally get to see what is up at the north end of Clearlake. first time I tried it I had to walk my kayak in shin deep water 200 yards to float the thing. and I got skunked hard. I feel bad for the folks flooding out. my friends are eyeballing the approaching water to their home. yikes. I am ready for summer. not wildfire season, but summer.

I find Anejos too aged. like brandy. I came up sipping silvers. but now, Reposados are my Cinderella. and getting drunk on Tequila never works for me. I rarely drink now. my liver sucks. so I really baby it. hahah. so if I do sip a tequila it has to be AWESOME for me. I am not doing any celebrity, or mainstream ones. just because you are handsome/pretty/can play a mean guitar/etc doenst make you a tequila master.

I got some of these for now. 1/16th. trying it with the 4.8 flick worm. I just need the rain to stop!! STOP!! I try to pay attention to the line tie. I want one positioned so it looks like it slips thru obstacles and should be a lever to lift the bait up when I pull the line tight. the owner looks like it would roll the hook up when the line goes tight. I like that. the jackal one his a longer line tie, so more leverage.

all Anejo? i've been sipping Silvers and Reposado. i like the more "in my face" tequila flavors. my Silver of choice has been Tequila Ocho silver. never got the Reposado.

i'm not talking the tequila shots, let's get drunk stuff. i am talking sipping, drink like a civilized adult stuff. i have been reading about tequilas. i like them. there is a gang of tequilas still made in the old traditions. no additives. old school. i seek those. then i read about Fortaleza. i read about it late because it was HARD TO FIND. some article comes out and everyone runs for it. my friend found me one!! $65. i have been occasionally sipping La Gritana. a woman owned, small businees, no additives, no preservatives, no color, tequila. so good!! just a tiny glass to sip by the campfire. i was told it rivals Fortaleza, but there is only one way to tell. BOOM!

dang. i read it. the only upgrade i see is the STENT!! i am glad you had that addressed. the rest are just accessories you had me at "you feel fine". phew.
