  1. summer is coming...(fingers crossed). hot days fishing, dehydrating myself. I once went on a 10 day backpack trip. I put 6 big cans of coconut water into an ice chest and parked the truck. when we came out, I pulled the chest out and I could still hear some ice sloshing around. I handed out the cans to the fellas and PHOOSH! everyone belted one back. there were five of us, so I drank two. it was refreshing, but it actually rehydrated us. well, it got us started on the process quick. now that is the first thing I do when I come back from fishing. slam a glass. plecebo? maybe. but it tastes great. now it seems to be everywhere. I bet some phillipine coconut farmer is driving around in a Ferrari. it has taken off and gotten very popular.
  2. i think my charcoal and propane grill both take 20 minutes to warm up.
  3. i had a very vanilla 2022. what i did realize was that i am okay with not catching a fish..i used to get totally butt-hurt, but now..i just shrug it off. it happens. my friend flipped his kayak, which caused me to bolster my own safety issues.
  4. I visited a friend in San Diego. Huntingest, fishingest person I know. He got done spiny lobster and gave me several. I stuffed them into my computer bag in a soft cooler and flew them home. Even the TSA guy was impressed. I grilled them. chive butter
  5. Yea. My biggest dink-fest was on the Delta. Nursery fish. So many dinks. But I agree, my biggest keeper limit is Clearlake by a long shot.
  6. i like the O hooks. simple and thin enough to pierce with a lighter touch. i have been using the new Haymakers from Owner, but it might be my imagination, but they seem to snag more often.
  7. i love Italian food. what i learned from my travels in Italy is that they never over sauce pasta. the pasta is celebrated equally. but there is so much IF that is not even pasta centric. so good.. all of it.
  8. Fish the Moment guy really covers areas and how he uses his side scan to get him there. he is like a fishing science guy.
  9. IPClinch. if i punch, i am with the sheep herd, and i use a Uni Snell.
  10. i'd keep both, but if you put my feet to the fire, i think i would keep the Rebellion. i borrowed one, and my first impression was that it was punching way above it's weight class.
  11. I feel the same about the Delta. More real estate for bass elbow room. in my opinion only. but WRB’s insight is spot on. I think Clearlake bass are easier to pattern
  12. i fully stocked up from Siebert. nothing will get me to buy anymore..nothing!! i oddly lost VERY few of them last year. it was like magic was happening. i dropped a few thru the scupper hole, but i dont remember losing one to a snag.
  13. at what point is this non-transmissable. negative test results? there was a dude in my class in San Diego, i wanted to slip a covid test. he was clearly not feeling well. he will wipe out CA supervisors if we all catch it. whatever. if i get it, i passed it to a fully jammed airplane flight already. the plane left for phoenix. haha..
  14. shut it down. shut down this thread... you win.
  15. Can’t even keep ants out of my house. The trick is to make them a valuable commodity. Like if they were delicious or they pooped pearls. Dunno.
  16. There are some very good looking rods and reels out there. It seems to be directly proportional to cost, but I’m relatively new, so I cannot be sure. I fondle dine MegaBass rods and they have that ohhhh! factor for sure. The Steez AGS are almost too good looking. my stuff gets kinda beaten on my kayak so I can’t put too much into how they look. Plus I’m a poor public servant. that’s my excuse anyways. you?
  17. I think I’ll pitch i into grass and see what happens.
  18. I have guns. I don’t want to CC any of them. I am almost fanatical about my surroundings. if you’ve seen me shoot, my method is better. I ran a tiny portion of my brothers gun course at his job and “me sucking” was an understatement. I imagine (100’s of) hours of practice to get proficient. I’d hit something I wouldn’t want to hit, or hesitate.
  19. Dang. I’m masking up for San Diego. Probably futile, but any measure of anything resembling protection is fine by me. ‘’if I get sick, I’m staying home. No way I drag it anywhere.. i elk hunted with the flu two seasons ago. It was physically the toughest thing I ever tried to do. My bow felt like it was made of lead. But drawing a NM non-res tag is like getting hit by lightning. I had to go.
  20. My friend went twice and skunked. He was on his kayak. He has never been so perplexed. His words.
  21. Haha. Never a good idea, really. but I once did this as a joke with my wife when I was a few Benjamin’s short for a guided fishing trip. She did laugh. Cat is still here. There were zero offers. She will chew every iPhone charge cord within eyesight.
  22. I received a great FISHMAS holiday gift this winter. (Plus other awesome stuff!). But this one stood out immediately. I looked at it with a child-like wonder. I think pitching it into the weeds on the California Delta will be so much potential for a good bass. I put it away on top of my surplus baits , and my first trip out to the delta? It will ride shotgun. the SLEEPER gill. What a gift! Cant wait to post up a a fish pic. I’ll even throw it with a Megabass rod so the stars can align. Go away Winter. Be gone!
  23. I love this! I met a senior citizen on the lake. I was getting into the smaller bass. He said, he is still trying to get his first bass….screech. I stopped and tied on a worm setup for him. He had tied-dyed shorts, socks, shirt…. And I did rib him about his outfit scaring the fish. His problem was he couldn’t cast to save his life. I stayed with him hoping and praying a bass would grab his bait. It never happened. I hope he didn’t quit. I look for him all the time.
  24. i spent half the day with "the barn doors flung open" at work. nobody said a thing. i went to pee and @#!@#$!@#$!%#@!! face red. nobody noticed your shirt.
  25. My friends are in a debate. They want a PB and they are torn at the place with the best potential. I say the Delta, but every one seems to think Clearlake holds the better bass. NorCal guys, thoughts? my 7 lb cane from the Delta. My 2nd place fish is fromClearlake. Hmmmm.
