  1. hahahahah...I know for a fact that BEN at the Hookup views the Dirty Jig football (full size) as his all time MVP jig. it is all he uses for full-sized jigs. well done!!!
  2. I have a Curado 150MGL and it wasn't getting it done for me. user error for sure. the line (braid) would eventually get loose in the spool and I would need to face towards the wide open and wing my bait out to tighten the line by cranking it in tight. again..user error. I am just not that great at the technique. enter my Daiwa Tatula SV 103(?)...it is day/night difference. way easier. I can control the line way easier and it mitigated my issue completely.
  3. true... but you can get way more veggies into a Frittata which oddly taste EXACTLY like an omelette to me. I had an obscene amount of veg in mine..nothing I could successfully fold into an omelette. not with my skillset.
  4. dont do it. its like having a beer budget and staring at Champagne wishes. DANG IT!! I want MegaBass rods galore, and odd baits I dont find a BassPro. (more like Bass-No). I've been in that store for a quick in and out to buy one rod. I should have walked around taking it in. oh well...next time.
  5. I am trending...Daiwa or Shimano get equal billing. I like how they are kinda making new innovations. are they the only two still inventing or improving?
  6. .......and the best way to use up leftover veggies??? easily a FRITATTA! I find them most delicious cold or room temp, so I make it the night before to eat as an office desk breakfast. super easy.
  7. i've been eating way more veggies these days. i did sear a small steak to share with the wife. i used the hotass pan to char some broccolini, and the prerequesite sauted mushrooms.
  8. no problems moving along at approximate "highway speeds". ? i always like that one, since you could pull it by hand if need be.
  9. i see this all the time. its either bungeed in the back or nonexistent. so obvious. i saw one guy way out in the boonies on a SUP and he was just doing his regular "lap" no PFD. he wasnt worried. this was in the CA Delta and that place can be a wild landscape in some areas.
  10. i use 10 flouro leaders pretty much all the time now. i like it simple.
  11. i am a kayaker. is there training in the crossover, beyond "wear a PFD"? i am glacial slow compared to a bassboat. i wear my PFD 100% and i see guys in bassboats only put them on when they are moving high speed to/fro. i've never taken a boater safety course... some of the stuff can crossover to my kayak passion? i might take one to see for myself.
  12. BFS is kinda delicate. my Shimano has such a gentle drag. i dont think i have ever locked down the drag that tight. the only reel i can skip is the Daiwa SV spooled ones. the rest, i gave up on. i dont have the skillset.
  13. jerkbait? crankbait? squarebill.
  14. i like this one. fish on!!! how about putting a ferrous nut on the rope handle and picking it up with a stick with a magnet on the end? nah..get the motorized deploy one. safety first?
  15. i am no expert. i still have the occasional Backlash adventures. but i bet dollars to donuts even my BIL could cast my Daiwa Tatula SV. just a garden variety reel that is easy...you should see my BIL shoot a handgun...he would backlash a DC reel beyond hope.
  16. I have a hard time ice soaking a sore hand or ankle. Full body would be difficult
  17. both. i think a jerkbait really benefits from a longass cast. at least in my waters. they always seem to smash it way the heck out there. but both. i can cast a V110 pretty well with my BC rigs.
  18. i find wild boar to taste like pork with the flavor volume turned up. its good.
  19. Love love this. A Cuban is my second favorite sando
  20. my Cudas are still rocking it. my boat pair of Pitbulls are getting dull.
  21. i cover up like i am a vampire. best i can.
  22. i have been pretty isolated from such encounters. i do feel a bit sad for anyone named those names...yeesh. ruined a pretty name.
  23. #4 hook is fairly tiny!! well done hooking a big bass. getting the fish to commit is the biggest part of the equation in my opinion. go with a bigger hook, thinner wire hook and you just gotta lean back to drive the point past the barb. sooo...you can just walk out to any golf course pond? asking for a friend.
  24. i heard simply flexing the pinkie finger will move the rod enough to walk a frog. i dont know what i do, while i am sitting at my desk. i just kinda do it.
