Shingles Vaccine
I remember when I had an EPIC gout attack (in my left foot and right knee), I was at the doc and I said something stupid like, "wow, doc! this is the most pain any Male can get!" he replied, "oh..wait until you get shingles!". and he mumbled something about kidney stones. my sister had it on her face and after it cleared there was a waiting period before she could get the vaccine. she did it on the day. hahah. if shingles trump Gout. no thanks.

it's unfortunate: my dog is afraid of fishing rods
so odd. and funny. I carry rods into the house all the time to rig and respool. every time my dog (HANK) heads for his hiding spots. gone! we adopted him and despite the fact that I have never spanked him EVER ( I rarely raise my voice) , I believe his last owner may have used "tools" to beat him. I can't swat at fly without him running away. I roll up a magazine and my dog is gone. fishing rods. If I lean them against the couch he is fine. I pick one up. gone!! poor Hank. no big deal, since he comes out after I am done and acts normal, but it is sad he is hiding somewhere waiting for the foot to drop. my hobby should be tennis because he loves a tennis ball..but the racket might scare him I would buy a Hobie ProAngler 14 to bring him fishing, but he would jump overboard if I picked up a fishing rod. hahahahaha

Have you quit fishing before?
I did. when I first moved to CA, I simply missed my brother and his bass boat. I think I quit for 20 years. gave away my rods and stuff. I would dabble, but nothing like before (or now). then. the most boring pandemic happened and I asked and looked for a solo fun event. I bought my kayak and went nuts.

Dropshot Technique Casting and Retrieving
I cast gently as far as I can. Let it soak. I might twitch a few times but I imagine it’s moving enough down there. Then s few cranks and repeat. When it gets closer I reel it all back in a smooth upward slow sweep. I sometimes get bit when the baits swims up.

Shingles Vaccine
my friend was writhing in pain with Shingles when i talked to him. i immediately called for a vaccine. very little side effect on me. my doc almost forgot the second dose, but snuck it in right under the wire on another routine visit. i kinda remember her giving me the pnumonia vaccine at the same time. either way..whatever keeps me upright, i am all over it.

how are the norCAL people doing?
hows the fishing? i am grabbing my raingear and headed to Clearlake (saturday) . see if there is any interest in some of my moving baits. i had fun with a deep diver crank this time last year. but this year thusfar has been entirely different and not in good way.

shimano sienna bail wire
reminds me of the time i made the decision to take off my waterproof hunting pants without taking off my boots (didnt want to stand on wet ground). my efforts to find a shortcut cause me a lot of "fun". i was like a trapped animal. the spool..next time, the spool. haha. i cannot envison the parst that must have sprung out of there!!! good luck.

I have a St. Croix Mojo Bass Spinning Rod 7' 1" Med Hvy; I'm a newb concerned about my rigging.
i'm close. i use 20 suffix, and my performance hasnt suffered because of my line. i tell my line, "its not you, its me..." all the time. i used 10lb flouro leader. mostly dropshotting.

Does Anyone have a MegaBass Triza Stym Palides and Ageha? questions
these the the two travel rods I am interested in. two BIG missing pieces of info. how long are the packages with the rods broken down? do they fit in a duffel? I think this is good info to know. do they come with a tube case? or is it only that sock-bag thing? I am close to choosing an Amazon Peacock trip and I am leaning towards an outfit that requires us to use our own gear. plus if fly to OK to hammer stripers annually. thanks in advance. this is a big painful purchase for me, and I dont want to screw it up..

Getting back into Bass fishing
What bait? Is it twisting as you reel it in? I find it also helps to close the bail manually and tug the line tight on the spool before I do any cranking.

Am I the only bass fishing diehard that doesn't care about the pro tournaments?
i've never watched a bass tournement in my life. i have follow one youtuber, and he occasionally puts up a tournament video, but that is about it. the only way i know the name of a few pros is that they are yammering on youtube. if you forced me to watch something, i'm watching women's pro golf. hahahhaa...or the ladies beach volleyball. jus sayin.

Those pesky waterfalls…,,,,:D

Nice spinning reel rod
this is my 90% rod. it is always with me. drop shot is the main duty, therefore i consider the bait keeper tab to be in the perfect place on this rod. i is easily my ugliest rod i paired it with the Tatula another lightweight contender and it balances well.

The drawbacks of a canoe.
what is it like getting caught in a wake boat wave?

hypothetical FIRST-DATE question.
i like my burgers cooked thru. i've been food poisoned twice and i thought i was gonna die. at one point, i think i wished for the peace of death. it is awful.

Jerkbait ( Vision 110 ) hookup fail
i feel the fish hook themselves when they slam the Vision 110. almost all my bites have come on the long pause, and i just feel them pull into it. all i do is say.."oh!" and start reeling.

If a top-shelf bass fishing celebrity could join BassResource...
I'd like to hear from a barely sponsored person that fishes professionally. I can stomach that.. but some paid spokesperson for a big company? nah..I am good. even the youtube guys sponsored by say...Berkeley will hawk mostly Berkeley gear. I like hearing mostly from people that fish the same waters I do. I does me little good when some guy that fishes Table Rock tells me his favorite Berkeley Stunna colors that work for him 90% of the time. hahah
