  1. come on..there are no fish in Lafayette Resevior. (i need to take my kayak there someday)
  2. i have used TWO. Digitaka and now Japan Tackle. the item from Japan Tackle just cleared customs and i should get it today.
  3. i think the instructions on my BC reels say to do so.
  4. I rig those on a Texas rig. 1/8 bullet. Kills.
  5. Lipless thru the grass, deeper grass. Crankbait time here.
  6. Indeed. Best wishes to the other side of the country friends.
  7. I actually had a good time. The guys circled the wagons. Food was great, and I’m a cornhole natural. ( cornjoke is a yard game)
  8. i throw a weightless T-rig Senko.."the yamamoto flavor" on my Defender p5 X-bites all the time.
  9. @TnRiver46 agreed. @Bankc is like the oracle sometimes. a new boat is so far out of the picture for me, d**n near forever. i can afford it now, but at the cost of my financial security? nope. no way. one roadbump and i would be doomed.
  10. if i'm being honest, you put my feet to the fire and i couldnt tell you what material my drags are made of. as i get things serviced, i assume i will upgrade. as of now, i dont stop for any winter, i fish almost weekly, i dont have any issues. some reels sit for weeks unused. like i dont punch fish thru the winter.
  11. I don’t. Never knew it was a thing. I’m so tired when I get home.
  12. Ahhh. Got it. I dint CB often, hence the question. Grass as well, I forgot grass.
  13. Daiwa’ s on the two Shimano rods for sure, just to poke a stick into the eye of conventional wisdom. I’ll let you know about the Bantam when it gets to my house. I’m putting it on a FMJ, which I hope works.
  14. Not me. The giver wanted me to have something nice. Not use it to pay electric bill. id honor their wishes. I would like to change my answer. I don’t think a rat would pull a big bass in my area. I need a swimbait. I’d go with a Tiny Klash or something that closely resembles a Hitch Minnow.
  15. (I was always told to keep things balanced - as a teen). I was lubing and wiping it down. I looked at the old reels braking. I have two weights (?) out, two in. Can I run just one out? To get more distance? I can’t remember the instructions. Need a reminder.
  16. PB rat as well. I wouldn’t have to buy a new rod, like some of those glidebaits require.
  17. Feel more what? A bass hitting a crankbait isn’t subtle.
  18. I’m using an App to try to pick up some Portuguese!
  19. My exact dropshot setup is. Phenix Maxim 7-2 med 2500 reel. 20lb braid 10lb sniper leader 3/16th sinker. Usually tungsten, but I have fist-loads of the cheap stuff as well. hook. Is the owner Downshot. 1/0 usually. Rigged weedless. 2/0 even on Clearlake bait 80% of the time is a GP Zoom Z-drop worm. (I am zero% on the hit-worm) I like a 8-12 sinker line length
  20. Without doubt, I’ve caught more fish on my Phenix Maxim 7-2 med than the rest of my rods combined. It’s super sensitive. Punches way above its weight class. It’s a touch heavy, but casts like a dream. I’ve been daydreaming and imagined I felt a tick. I set the hook just in case. Well I reel into the hook, not so much set the hook…and there has always been a fish. I seem to feel everything. I now wonder what a high end rod would be like if the Maxim transmits so much info to me. rod isn’t the best looking either.
  21. Consulate just emailed. Grace period until beginning of next year. They were not ready and won’t be for awhile.
  22. Haha. My wants me to go for her. With her. sorry I started this thread. This thread was just a humorous attempt. I’m fishing Sunday instead. I’m not bummed by any of it. I just tried to crack a joke about it. and the party is on a ranch/farm. I’m gonna ask for permission to hunt turkeys!
  23. 100%. I think the hook;s weight drags a SENKO down perfectly. Just slightly nosed down. Tiny tail waggle. I don’t wacky often anymore. Not in my usual lakes.
