Talk me into fishing tomorrow

Featured Replies

103° today and a high of 105° tomorrow. Had to drop my wife off at the airport this morning so tomorrow morning is do or die. I feel it may be die lol. I just respooled a Black Max with 10 lb. Big Game and tied on a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG and want to fish, but weeks on end of this insane heat is making it hard to pull the trigger on getting the boat in the water.

I need encouragement! Or therapy! ?

Too hot here this week. Around 100* everyday with heat index +/- 110.

It's cooled off a little here, with lower humidity but it's still hot.  I'm considering going around midnight tonight instead of waiting until morning.   It's 89 right not but the humidity is only 41%.  This is at my house.

Its about 94 today and the heat index here is over 100 too.  Looks pretty hot here through about Wednesday and then relief is in sight again.  Anything over about 85 is too much for this guy.

NWS is saying 93 still for Thursday...which is my normal boating day...looks like another week that Bass Trek stays dry.

I’d dance a jig for a high of 93° lol.

It was 111 officially here yesterday and I was out until 10am, over 100 by the time I left the lake. You can do it! But don't stay nearly as late as I did and bring twice as much water as you think you need. Gallon jug is a good plan. I'd be on the water at 6 and off by 9 if you can swing it. Or go in the evening if that can happen. But be inside between 10am and 630pm. Gonna be real humid where you're at

Wife and I leave in the morning to spend a week on a lake in WV, 90's all week.

Fish early, swim in the afternoon and fish late..... there you have it. ?

I can't help you buddy, it's too hot for me to go fishing here. Been over 100 for a few days.

You guys need to pull it together and fish when you can fish. Bring water. Wade. Swim. Take a legal amount of clothes off. Whatever you gotta do to git-r-dun!

I'd have to go further than that...then of course I'd turn into a lobster.

Ok, so @thediscochef supplied the impetus for me to get up and hit the water early. 89° when I hit the water at 6:45 and 97° when I got out at 11:00. Forecasted high today is 107°. Ugh.

I just fished the local pond as I figured full sun and little shade at the lake and I’d be done by 9:00 lol. Caught three and missed two. Only took soft plastics as the water is down 2’ and too much algae for treble baits. Caught the first one early on a weightless Neko Macho. The second (and biggest) was on a TR with a Rage Tail Craw. The last one was in a weightless Zoom Mag 2. It was gut-hooked, so I got the hook out and put it back in the water w/out pics. About 1.5 lbs.

I haven’t used my Daiwa Aird-X MF and the Garcia Black Max in a while, but I spooled new line on it yesterday and wanted to give it a go. I realize it’s an inexpensive baitcasting reel that is not in the same class as my Fuegos and Tatula. But…that reel casts like a dream. I almost cast a 5” Senko completely across the pond. It’s a bit geary (not bad) and the drag does not have a click adjustment, but it fished pretty darn well for $49.99!

Good job getting on them man, I know it was hotter than heck out there but you did it!

The bigger one was 3 lbs. It smashed that Rage Tail Craw. I’ve been using that bait in green pumpkin a lot on a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG and a 3/16 oz. tungsten bullet weight. I rarely caught fish on craws. It’s becoming a confidence bait!

you look great in that temp.  i would look like a frumpled partially melted wax figure.  i have gotten soft to heat.

i whined yesterday and it was 89.  sorry.

I’m contemplating tomorrow. It’s 104° now and high Saturday is 103°. Have to fish somewhere else that’s not as low. With shaded banks!
