I’m going to pick up a 7’4-7’6” MH glass cranking rod for chatterbait fishing.  Local options are the St. Croix Mojo Glass, Halo Crankin’ Series II, 13 Fishing Meta-G or Lews David Fritts composite crankin’ rod.  
 

Are any of those a stand out for throwing 1/2oz.+ chatterbaits?

I just purchased two of these for my 1/2 oz vibrating jig needs.

I'm with A-Jay on this one. Heavy Moderate or Mod Fast is the way to go for chatterbaits. I like the Ark Invoker Pro 7'4" H MF so well I bought four of them. After fishing chatterbaits on at least a dozen different rods over several years, this one stood out as the clear winner.

And don't need another EXO for it...?

I have the 7’2” heavy Mojo Glass I use for 3/8 -3/4 chatterbaits. 
 

I like it a lot, but it’s the only glass rod I have and the only other one I had was a Shimano SLX glass, and I hated that pig.

While I think I would if they were still available, as I do like those reels.

I decided to hang with the Diawa theme and paired those sticks up with a couple of Elites.

So far I'm pleased.

Personally I don't get glass cranking rods. I use graphite and don't loose fish.i think I catch more be ause I feel more. I've learned not to horse them in and don't let them jump.

I picked up the 7'4MH St Croix Legend Glass a couple years ago and tried it for bladed jigs.  It wasn't great so I picked up the 7'2 H and it's money!  I put a lot of fish in the boat with that thing during the spring.

Feel more what?  A bass hitting a crankbait isn’t subtle. 

When it comes to chatterbaits, I like using the 3/8oz size with a G. Loomis 903C IMX Pro Crankbait rod. It is a Mod-fast with a multi-taper graphite blank. It loads really well and can cast a mile. It's soft but not too soft. It also works great for 3/8oz squarebills. I have tried chatterbaits on multiple rods either made of glass or a glass composite with either a Moderate or even a Fast taper and this one has been a good go between.

 

But for a 1/2oz, I would go with the 845C. 

 

Also, a tip I learned a long time ago > if the fish won't bite a chatterbait, go to a silent crankbait or square bill. I can't explain it but when they won't bite one they will hit the other.

It can be. You've never seen underwater shots of them taking them and spitting them out ? Also you feel the bottom and structure. Both big parts of crankbait fishing.

I like my St croix  mojo  glass alot for cranks, although I don’t use it for chatterbaits
