  1. i have hired a good guide. both Clearlake and the Delta. sadly, neither guide took me to an area i could reach on a kayak. not without risking more than i want to. i did get into the next class of bass. Maybe if i bought an electric motor for my kayak. maybe.
  2. Think there is open water under the weeds? I think I would prove the depths w a punch bait.
  3. i like the 4" dingers okay. but in general, they tear the same yet i catch few fish than when i use the OG worm. (5")
  4. ahhhh.. I was wondering where the grass went. I'll never eat a fish out of there. nope.
  5. we should collective get onto a football field and let it rip. my eyeball tape-measure/range finder is probably blowing my own accomplishments way out of proportions. everyone tie on a 1/2 oz bullet weight. hahahhaha.. sorry, i dont think i know where a football field is.
  6. EL Whopper doesnt have the same ring as EL CHOPPO!
  7. @MN Fisher dude, I love your boat and what you have done to it. one day, I will copy you. but: you need a new pic of your boat :D. lets see a new pic!!
  8. there is a shallow kid lake near my house that is stocked with small trout for the kids successful fishing trip. I hear there are giants in there as far as bass. I will hit it next post spawn. I could float in there on a giant inflatable flamingo and fit right in. I am not telling my friends. I'll bring my kayak. shhhhhh..
  9. are we sure Kent isnt holding the same fish? they both look the same. either way, that fish is gonna be in tonight's dream.
  10. the LV50 is 1/4oz if my memory is right. we know the bigger LV500 catches fish.
  11. I would like to add that the Daiwa Kage, is very nice. I borrowed my friends, and it is a really nice reel. I didnt catch anything, so there is that.
  12. there is a private lake here with 10lb fish. lots of them. I think it is $400 a day to fish there.
  13. my friend put a pulley up a tree and draped it all the way over to another tree. he would lower the feeder, and then fill it. then pull it back up. it was on a thin Stainless steel cable. I think a squirrel could tight rope to it, but it was a hummingbird fountain thing. but yea. raccoons are awesome.
  14. a raccoon couldn't get to one if I put my mind to it. but I would need a manlift to set up the pulley system.
  15. hahhaha..I like Scotch plenty, but I wouldn't call it much better. different, smoky and wet grassy..okay. peaty. I have limited mileage left on my liver, so I choose to douse it with Rye Whiskey. I love the caramel notes and how it tastes so American. I once took a great Rye to my family in Taiwan. a country that turns it's nose to anything not Macallan in it's teen years. it took them running out of scotch to finally crack open my gift. I didnt convince everyone, but I did blow up a few skirts.
  16. Vanford 2500. I have done so much harassment to fish in general with that reel. from very big fish, to little ones. its a good good reel to me.
  17. my personal record has been a 3/4 oz Teckle Kicknocker with a garden variety Shimano SLX DC reel. the rod is a MegaBass Triza Dragoon, so not a whippy catapult by any means. It is crazy watching the spool empty on a bomb cast. I can only imagine what a Curado 150 DC could do. the DC allows me to play "chicken" with the spool. I still thumb it at the ragged end. I'll own the Curado 150 DC by the time I visit OK for stripers next year.
  18. can you just get more creative with hanging a hummingbird feeder?
  19. Break? does this mean you are going to see other forums? just kidding. take time, we won't judge. unless you start golfing or something instead.
  20. Sorry. I never closed this thread. Ate good food, had great laughs that left my face sore, and. Oh. Got my PB striper. 18lbs. She swam free right after a quick pic. My 2500 reel was screaming!
  21. i think it is anyone's bet once a fish goes airborne. unless it is in bone, they can fling it. i would love to see the fish i lose. the ones that pull hard underwater and break free, haunt me. in my mind, they are all 10 pounders. so for me, losing at the jump is more palatable. kinda.
  22. i only have two. early wee morning hours and way late loosing sunlight evenings. i dont wake up early enough or stay out late enough..in general. other than that, i always have my ear and eyes on the wide open waters. there is no rhyme or reason for the fish that herd and eat fish out in the deep. but a popper sent into the foray, is such a good time. be ready. thankfully i have a fast kayak. i can join in fairly quickly if it isnt that far away.
  23. i've been reading about the hitch minnow. back in the day they were an important food source for the Pomo tribes. today, only a few thousand fish migrate into TWO creeks to spawn. back in the day, i figured not only did they provide sustenance for the local people, the big bass probably grubbed them as well. what a bummer!! that hitch minnow doesnt look delicious. i wonder if this is affecting the BIGger bass?
  24. but yea. total truth. i have never held a rod like that before. yup. handle aside. how is the rod blank? any good?
  25. it's why i dont own any. i have a difficult time enough with Keitech.
