Picking up two new rods
I recently picked up a psycho stick 7'2 ML spinning, it is an outstanding choice for finesse presentations.

Smaller Profile Deep Diving Crankbait Rod
I'll be on the lookout for a black Friday deal. If I find the Cara Deep Runner 20% or more, I'm pulling the trigger, thanks.

Smaller Profile Deep Diving Crankbait Rod
Thanks for the recommendation, but I am done with glass for cranking, I have ordered many different glass/composites for cranking and they just don't feel right to me. My personal preference has evolved into graphite or carbon for cranking. If I can find a good black friday deal I'm going to pick up a Falcon, I have never handled one before but have heard pretty good things so far.

Never really considered Alpha Angler, specs look good for what I want it to do, if you decide to keep it , let me know your thoughts on the rod.

Smaller Profile Deep Diving Crankbait Rod
I have been having a good year fishing very small profile deep diving cranks like the Imakatsu deep Impact ,deep wiggle warts and Super-Z Z3 crankbaits, I was looking to drop a set of 5:5:1 gears into a SLX MGL as a reel for these cranks but it started getting a little too complicated to pull off. I have been using the Engestsu pg and the Steez A crazy cranker and have been able to launch the small profile deep divers pretty well, and now I just picked up a Zillion 1000P so I think I'm covered in the reel category. I have been using a Dobyns Champ 764CB, which is a wonderful rod for these types of baits, but the monkey is always looking to get his hands on more toys to play with. Given that black Friday is right around the corner, I was looking to add another rod as a smaller profile deep diving set up. I'm looking at the rods listed below, any input, feedback or recommendations are appreciated. Falcon Cara Casting Rod 7'3" Med Hvy Deep Runner Dobyns Kaden Series Crankbait KD 734CB ALX Zolo Crank 7'4"

The latest sale thread
I have a First Strike 806 crankbait rod and love it, so I ordered a Black Widow 733 due to the sale, the monkey is definitely getting more into Edge rods as he gets his grubby hands on them.

St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Models
I have the 7'10 big cranker, now that the guide size is being mentioned, they may be on the small side, but I have not had any issues with them. Sometimes I use all flouro and others I use braid to copolymer leader and have no issues with the knot going through the guides.

Good baitcaster under $200?
I just picked up a Zillion 1000 5:5 from digitaka and I'm very impressed. I really don't need any more reels, but the monkey is now liking this Zillion so much I may have to get him another one in a higher gear ratio.

Daiwa Zillion SV TW 20 Question
Thanks, I absolutely love that steez A crazy cranker. With the digitaka prices , I think I'll pick one up. Thank you. Yep that's the one, the digitaka price has me itching to try it. Thank you for the feedback.

Daiwa Zillion SV TW 20 Question
Hi All, I find the shimano Bantam, Met and Curado 71 very comfortable to palm/grip. Is the Zillion SV TW considerably bigger, or would you say it's similar in size from an ergonomics perspective. I need another reel like I need a hole in my head, but the monkey keeps reading how amazing this reel is, and now he wants one,if it's comfortable to grip. Thanks in advance.

I may just have to pick one up.Thank you.

Nice spinning reel rod
The Major Craft Nanoace is a great rod. Tatula is awsome as well. Bassfishingsocal is spot on in his assessment of the rods.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
In terms of ergonomics ,palming and overall size, which Shimano reel is comparable to that Zillion? From the pic it looks a little on the wide side, but i'm interested to see what actual owners of the reel have to say. I'm pretty much a Shimano guy, but I am open to adding more Daiwa reels to the line up.

ALX Rods
Will do, thanks.

ALX Rods
Thank you for the feedback. Good to hear, thanks. Thank you for the input. I pulled the trigger on the 7'10 Zolo Grind. It was 30% off from Tackle Trap, it's not full grip but the postive reviews and the discount gave the bait monkey no choice in the matter. Thanks again everyone.

ALX Rods
I would like their crank rod with a full handle grip, I will reach out to see if they can modify it with a full grip. Thanks for the info.

ALX Rods
Anyone use these rods, I am particularly interested in the Zolo Crank and Grind, both full graphite crankbait rods. I am also looking at two rods in the Enox series ,Hutch and Strike. I'm trying to decide if I want to experiment and try something from ALX or pick up another rod from Edge. Any feedback is appreciated.

St croix victory or legend tournament?
I was looking for a graphite crankbait rod, so I ordered the Victory VTC710HM and the Legend Tournament LBTC710HM, after having the opportunity to hold them and inspect them side by side, I returned the the Victory and kept the Legend Tournament. The Legend seemed more refined, the cork handle was of higher quality, it seemed to have better parabolic bend, it clearly shined over the Victory. I ordered from TW knowing that I was going to return one, consider ordering both and returning the one you are less impressed with.

Email Dobyns a picture of it, see what they say.

UPDATE: Rods arrived today in one piece, the 806 is very nice, I can tell from handling and inspecting it, that I have a winner. I will be utilizing the if you don't like it for any reason return policy for the 7104, that composite blank is just not for me,it's very similar to other glass rods as far a blank diameter and parabolic bend. Both rods are very lightweight and workmanship is impeccable and the carbon handle is intriguing, so far it seems very comfortable, I'm looking forward to seeing how it influences sensitivity. For me, once you go graphite for cranking there is no going back. Overall, I would definitely purchase another rod from them.

I may have misunderstood the rep I spoke with, I wanted a crankbait rod that did not have any glass. I called today to confirm, I got the rep on the phone and he was very nice but did tell me the rod I ordered is a composite , but also told me it would be unlike any other glass composite available on the market . Long story short we discussed the 806 cbr and I winded up ordering that one as well, which he had shipped out around 2 hours after the conversation. So far I am very happy with Edge rods in terms of customer service, I just need to do something about the bait monkey wanting crankbait rods, hopefully this is it for a while.

Yikes, it's a good thing the deep crankbait bite where I am doesn't start until June. I emailed them asking for an ETA and a rep did respond pretty quickly stating around first week of December. ?
