  1. Looking good. Making me want to run by and see it. I need to build myself a tackle box on the boat this year and was contemplating just using wood since it is easy...but I like what you are doing better. Planning dry boxes or just flat lids?
  2. Anything with a skirt I hang from my locker lids on the TH Marine Cooks storage bars. Let's them dry and all plano boxes and the like are awful IMO for spinnerbaits & chatterbaits. I do put jigs in a 3700, but I dry them on the locker lid holders after use.
  3. You can never have enough frog rods Seriously.
  4. I'm of a different school of thought. My moving bait reels are all 6's. Reason being I don't have to think when I pick them up. For a non moving bait lure I use 7/8 or faster reels. ie, jig fishing so I can get it back to the boat fast, frog fishing to pick up line quickly, etc.
  5. Have my first etec. Made me so nervous to thread the hose into the fitting instead of using muffs. Almost makes me want to pre-emptively change the impeller, lol
  6. I'd vote for a used Green Curado.
  7. Scheels did this past Sunday. Thorne Bros did a 90 days ago, but as you know they seasonally change from soft to hard water and it wasn't their summer stuff that was out. The Muskie stuff never goes away but the rest dwindles. I expect they are getting it all out now though.
  8. They have a lot of stock now. I stopped in on Sunday to check out the Nerka mounts. Great looking mount btw. My large store bias is Scheels, but I grew up with their kids. I've gotten better deals at Thorne than FF...
  9. Sad you referenced those. Thorne Brothers by a landslide here locally.
  10. Congrats, nice picking!! Managed to finally join the group thanks to MN Fishers help. Now you can all witness my arbitrary picks!
  11. Ah, got it. Thanks. I have 2 12's in the back and 2 9's up front. Moving is just for trailering and the occasionally walleye/lake trout trolling run. Appreciate your input. Down to balzout or the Nerka I think based on how they move and adjust. Going to Scheels to peak at the Nerka early next week as it is the cheapest option
  12. What do you mean by harder from location to location? Mine will be in one of two positions basically and I assumed that is a two knob per graph adjustment
  13. How can you tell what you are in. I signed up for the one on here and make valiant guessing efforts but figure if I am not in the right league you all can't laugh at my ineptitude.
  14. Let's go fishing together, I will laugh for you ?
  15. I have 20lb PP on 2 BC'ers and never have the problem. 30 or heavier on another 10 with zero problems digging in and I never pinch reel. I can't remember the last time I have had dig in problems.
  16. Ha, we do the same. Then taunt each other on the loss of the lure. That being said, I did catch a 6 lber on a jig on Lake Independence and managed to land it without any damage to the jig. I got to bark back on that one.
  17. If I could only have one line type it would definitely be braid. Sensitivity, handling, weed capability are the best out of all lines and over ride it's weaknesses. That being said, conveniently I don't have to have only one line type so a few of my rods have mono / fc as well.
  18. If you hunt for food, wall hang hunters will be like:
  19. Right, forgot to include that one. $400 and not much motion, but looks tough! That is a necessity to get them tight. On top of the wrench, I lined mine with skateboard grip tape. If you tighten them and then retighten 20min later they won't drift...but it is a serious pain in the butt and I'd like more adjustment range. This is a great help though for those that are close. The front mounts with only 9's on them and the wrench/grip tape are totally fine.
  20. The whole grass fed push is idiotic. Takes all the flavor out of the meat to make them scrawny spindly and fatless . Give me corn fed/finished whether it is wild or farmed.
  21. Stop shooting old animals and treating your meat like crap and it won't be gamey. Rancid fat always tastes gamey....
  22. If it were me I would go up to the 80. Easy to try down, but can't turn it up past max.
  23. I'd have a 6'8 MXF SC V kicked out to 7 or 7'2". Works great both as casting and spinning.
  24. I had thought about direct mount....but I want up and down. Good to hear you've heard good things on the balzout as that one is currently high on my list. As for the hotels, it will all come off anyways which is super unfun, but better than losing 4 modern graphs.
