  1. A 20' tiller is a great option for 4. Not sure what else would really allow all to cast. Even that is a bit cramped depending.
  2. If I have to be limited I don't need a box. A few frogs in my pocket and a bag of worms and tubes with the appropriate terminal tackle and I am fine. It all can fit in a jacket pocket. Adding a spinner bait would be my next grab but again when limited I would rather just frog fish.
  3. Even if you don't go custom you owe it to yourself to make the drive to TB.
  4. Holy S#$*Q&(*&*(@#$(*(*@#$(*&! Quite some talent there.
  5. Since you are in MN the other option is a custom built rod from Thorne Bros. My 844's are not stock, but Loomis won't sell the blanks to them anymore. Great store and you can feel all sorts of blanks there. I have about 30 customs they've done for me and they are all better than their stock counterparts for how I use them.
  6. That is the most versatile Loomis bass rod there is. 1/2 jig is a sweet spot for it.
  7. Why would you assume she wears panties?
  8. Darn it, I thought the title of the thread was how do you carry cash. That is in the bra portion of my wives swimming suit.
  9. Ok, j/k. Great job although when all else is new looking those stood out . Hey, I was kidding. Trailer looks great!
  10. OMG, how can you drive around with that and the rusty leaf springs.
  11. I have at least another two weeks of way too much to do, but please post if it lights back up as I have to get out some more!
  12. I haven't been out in a month. My fathers health has been all over and they are moving. Focused on that now, but living vicariously through the rest of you.
  13. Awesome work. Smart too. I know myself. If I did the boat first I would never get around to the trailer. That'd be sad. Going to be great!
  14. Playing with my latest toy with a reverse sear on some 1/2lb burgers on the firepit After the meal the grates come off and you can just relax. Gives me some over flow cooking space too now that I am down to just a couple Kamados to go with it.
  15. Best for me is my current rig It isn't as fast as my previous bass boats, but being a tiller it is about as fun to drive. It handles rough water better than my old wheeled boats, fishes more people (including my 2 boys) better, and doesn't give up the ease of manuvering that made my other boats fun. The tiller/vantage in the back also make boat positioning super easy while keeping all the little ones in front of me. At the moment, even if I didn't have kids I wouldn't be going back to a normal bass boat....but for me this is a bass boat.
  16. The Ranger reatta includes cushions. It is definitely deeper than a bass boat, but still not particularly deep. I let people sit on the rod lockers on my boat, but there is a great railing to hold onto and feels safer than sitting in the seats.
  17. That is quite the stretch of years...including ones with model changes. All of what you listed have good build quality, but the year you buy will determine the interior layout, electronics, motors and such. All that is key. I bought a layout that happened to be a Ranger and I am super happy with it, but was not opposed to other brands.
  18. I keep trying other braids based on reactions here and prefer PowerPro to them all so far. Perhaps I should stop trying because if it isn't broken I am not sure what I am trying to fix.
  19. I have a 7'4" 844C, a 7'10" MH SC VI, and a 7'10" 904 that I have thrown frogs on. The 904 is a BEAST and overkill for most situations, the 844 too short for most frogging and the MH St Croix has as much back bone as the 844 nearly. I wouldn't hesitate to use a MH, but be careful which brand. No way I would choose an 843 for frogging....
  20. Frogs yes, bring the beef. Walking baits I use a jerkbait stick.
  21. Casting Frog: Loomis 904 kicked out to 7'10", 50lb PP Jerk/Top: St Croix SC5 XF spinning blank made into a 6'8" casting rod, 20lb PP Spinner/chatterbait: SC5 MH/F made to 7'10", 30lb PP Skipping/Jig: GLX 844 kicked out to 7'3", 15lb Big game Texas: SC5 M/F built to 7'6", 30lb PP And if I have to spinning Finesse: SC5 M/F 7' , 10lb PP ...although I carry more than 6 rods always those would be the "big five"
  22. This is exactly how you add a rod extension only in the case of the extension the overlap doesn't need to be very far. Seeing the damage can narrow down the repair, but I also think Loomis will help.
  23. 1) If I am buying ultra high end I will never sell that rod IF it fits the needs I have 2) No way I would ever buy an ultra high end rod without feeling many. In my case I felt the stock rods with the blanks I would then use for custom and fixed what I didn't like about them. I was also able to compare the empty blanks as well. 3) This is true and we are lucky in MN to have a great place to work with
  24. There is no stock rod I've picked up that has the reel seat, grips, and length the way I would make the stick. Customizing those really kicks the blank up a notch. I have a bunch of GLX and SC5 sticks and none are stock and their stock counterparts would not satisfy me.
