  1. I wouldn't spend $5 fixing that and it will be WAY more.
  2. I had a cooler drying off outside when the rain came. There is nearly 5" of water in it. Not an exact rain gauge, but WOW.
  3. I hate using those for bass. SO MUCH easier to just grab the fish with your hand. That being said, I have one so that I can weigh fish and use on any fish that isn't lipable that needs to come in the boat.
  4. Single hook baits right, trebles left. Don't want to screw up my good hand More seriously it is because I hold the net with my right hand otherwise I like the left. When fishing in a canoe it would be whatever side the fish is on I use, but the boat based on the hook. ...nothing is better than two completely rashed out thumbs!!
  5. When it is working I don't get tired, when it isn't all sorts of baits either fatigue me physically or mentally. Not sure which is worse
  6. I just looked for your listing to scam you but couldn't find it. ...more seriously, I flippin' hate people. Sorry that you had to deal with that.
  7. If I have my druthers it is a frog. If it is on Tonka usually a chatter/spinner/jerk bait depending on the time of year.
  8. Exactly why I use a cart, a mobile tool box or a tool basket. I just bring everything I could ever need the first time. ....which limits me to 20 more runs back for something else
  9. Lol, wherever you read that....stop reading there.
  10. They were added because you can't get your hand around a big round reel. Modern reels are little so any cast can be done without moving your hand defeating the need for a pistol grip.
  11. No need for the pistol grip though, just a shorter butt section is fine. The days of needing the grip to be how you hold the rod are long gone. Reels aren't big huge round things anymore.
  12. That's because modern reels enable you to hold the reel and rod making the old ackward pistol grip obsolete. When bank fishing the number one thing that frustrates me is being 5' short of the spot on my maximum cast distance. Best cure for that is a longer rod. Might have to roll cast instead of overhead or side...but that is better anyways.
  13. Works well for that too
  14. I have beat the living snot out of my Harbor freight $19.99 angle grinder combo pack with cut off and sanding wheels. MANY sets more of other cutting wheels later it still rips through crap. Metal blade on the sawzall can get whatever it can't...unless the cutting torch needs to come out. Project looks fun. Can't wait to see updates.
  15. The F9 Rapala was the reason that sent me into the world of custom rods. Throw mine on a 6'3" SC XF blank kicked out to 6'9" with a Japanese Shimano BC'er. I HATE throwing floating Rapalas on a spinning rod. So much easier and more fun to work on a casting reel.
  16. Ok, should be required. The dumb * that do it here are insane. Highest volume Malibu dealer in the country is 3mi from my house. I am totally fine with people doing it, but when 99.9% are idiots it is hard to swallow.
  17. If I fill our surf boat up with ballast and lean it to one side you better turn away from the wave otherwise you get a few hundred gallons in the boat. If you are close to a shallower hulled boat it is even worse. Driving etiquette is required when troughing water like that. Morons is an understatement. I was surfing with a 6 year old between my legs and another boat not even pulling someone almost ran us over. Not sure how they can get that close to another boat and not notice in particular when someone is riding behind it at a whopping 11mph. The amount of times I see dipshit manuvers on Tonka is insane.
  18. I am pretty backwoods, but not toggle bolt backwoods.
  19. Awesome on the boat and project!
  20. The most logical time to get a backlash for me is when I am teaching someone and "show" them. Serious bad moments. Got a monster earlier this year. Went to cast a chatterbait further than I should and the new boat syndrome and me being alone had me in a weird spot in the boat so I hit the motor on release. That reel was done. Been a while since I've had one THAT good. Yes about everything but the golf swing. Golfing is for those who don't have a fishing boat. Perhaps a diet change would help, you'd need less "line" As established above, you aren't trying hard enough. Actually 15 is okay as long as it is on the last cast.
  21. Indeed, but the owner has no choice if you push it. There is some acreage requirement on that though.
  22. All lakes in MN are required to have access. Some may be across homeowner land but available for entry.
  23. If you are sliding back your trailer is in too deep
  24. A med sc avid blank custom built to 7'6"
