Mounted up in the garage. Garage is obviously not sheetrocked yet, but at least my rods are up and out of the way. Easy to reach from the boat in the summer when it is parked underneath.

I know. That part sucks but the more white the better. Hate that the lake isn't solid, but ice fishing is boring as snot so I focus on other winter sports.

I have just over a foot of beautiful white stuff in my yard. We need some cold so the lakes freeze and we can play in the snow.

Glued yesterday. Going to cleanup with the router later today/tomorrow and contemplate hanging.

I have some nice wood from there. Just don't care about nice wood for a rack that is in 11.5' off the ground in my garage. Yep. That's the plan. Will blast some brads in it to help the glue set.

$4 pine boards. I know. There was an obvious split...but I started on the wrong end. Had I just flipped the boards and used the other one for the tips this wouldn't have happened. I can redo the whole board probably in 20 minutes, but I want it done and mounted as I have other stuff I need done too.

Finally made time to get something done today and grrrrr. Of course there was a crack i the end of the board. I didn't see it until I had cut with the jig saw. Router shook the pieces off. A few days ago I brought my wood glue over to my parents house as well. Figure some glue and brad nails and it will be fine, but frustrating nonetheless.

That would make sense I assumed the opposite by comparing to his current setup but that is 24v so not comparable anyways. 36v 100ah will be enough for using it all day. Unless you are using it for lots of full speed long runs....but even then it may be fine.

I use an 844 that is kicked out to 7'2". Love that combo for skipping.

Except you shouldn't drain a non-Lipo as far down requiring nearly 2x the capacity if you want to get any life out of them. I would prefer to see the ratings based on charge cycles and usage. That would make it easier to compare.

My collection keeps reducing every year. The days of buying a bait that looks interesting are over and I focus on what I actually use. As for rods, I am also okay unless I start throwing a new bait that will force me to grab another.

I hope it stays cold. Worst part about winter is snow/thaw/snow/thaw. Just ******* snow and stay.

I had a bag like that but kept laying it on its side to get things out...so I changed to the vertical. As for the softbaits, keep them in their bags and put the bags in a plano without dividers and your problem will go away.

Bummer...although that isn't all that long and here we are already making ice.

When I built my rods for those weights I also picked the SC. The 7 MF is a killer rod.

My method is simple. If it had a split ring, I take if off and use a snap. Otherwise no snap.

I've never met a battery that was too big or an engine with too much power. I have seen some I won't pay for though. As for lithium or not that depends on how many charge cycles you want over how many years.

To be fair I should add that I do all my own work on the trailer/cars and such. Because I do I am particularly observant at preventative work. If you blindly trust your stuff then different behavior is in order. Also IMO then an opportunity to learn. I feel a great amount of satisfaction making sure things are done right.

I am not as proactive as the rest of the guys, but mine are always stored inside. I also have duals. If one blows, I am not all that worried. That being said ANY sign of cracks, extreme wear, bubbles or the like and I'd send them down the road. I check mine all the time before any sort of trip. As you know for me, the primary mileage is less than 2000' and if it is further it is less than 10mi. Age wears my tires, not use sadly. This in particular holds true for your spare. If it has had no load on it and hasn't been in the sun, 10 years is fine. Anything that shortens life though and I'd watch it more closely.

I think the interference concern is over blown. Sure it will happen, but when you realize that universal sonar is included in many trolling motors it would be terrible if it always happened. Ferrite bead/choke should also solve those concerns. Sure it is easier and bombproof to have a separate power source, but just like in car audio tracking down your grounds and making sure they are bulletproof to prevent leakage and alternator noise is the key. As for mounting the transducer, I would put it where I fish. ie, the front of the boat if that is where you stand. Getting it parallel to the surface of the water is critical but outside of that rather straightforward. I also think the estimations for life on the lithium are conservative. Somehow they last longer than they should in every application I've seen them used.

One of my favorite baits, but I typically throw it in lakes that could have smallies as well. ie, shallow metro weed filled lakes it isn't my jam, but I get up North and I will always have one tied on. I like to fish them "like" a jig, but when I have more patience for a slower fall. In general things that stay on the bottom a long time I like to avoid though.

I don't throw light stuff on mine. The M is better for that. The MH is closer to a 4 power Loomis than a 3. In fact, seems to have about as much backbone but a softer tip and more sensitivity comparing 844 GLX with it. To be fair, my longest 844 is 7'4 and the MH SC is 7'10" so that may explain the backbone as well, but they are robust for their rating.

Interesting. As far as I know here you can fillet away, but you better keep enough skin/fin so that they can confirm the species.
