  1. My favorite sinking jerkbaits float....but somehow they all have an F on them.
  2. I don't like any glass rods. Tried a SC and promptly crossed it off my list. Still chasing that elusive perfect crankbait rod for deeper baits in my arsenal though I will add that if I could have only one blank as a rod it would be a the MHF elite.
  3. I stand cast out of a Eugene Jensen racing canoe that most people get freaked sitting in....but years of rock climbing and watersports make it a wee bit easier. Pedaling is a new one though
  4. Yelled for a reason. Exactly what is needed the most.
  5. I really appreciate the camaradarie and insight. I will do anything to make this better for him!
  6. Hoping it stays that way. Exposure was Tue, but + already.
  7. Antibody infusion? No...but we only tested because he had a close contact note from the soccer team and were going to be with elderly relatives. Was shocked he was positive as he has no symptoms. He is pretty calm. We had that conversation and have been on video conferencing for a few hours today.
  8. No symptoms yet. He plays soccer 5+ days a week and is 5' and 70lbs and hasn't missed a day of school for being sick since kindergarten. Still no symptoms either. Of course I still want to do everything I possibly can to make sure I have no regrets in my care for him.
  9. Thanks. He is my tough and stubborn one. Not showing any symptoms, but obviously is bummed he has to isolate. Super social little boy. Hurts me that I can't hold and soothe him.
  10. Got a wonderful Thanksgiving present. My 10 year old is positive with Covid. Had a note from school about exposure on Tuesday and tested to be sure before seeing grandparents and are glad we did. Having a wee one isolate is really hard. Wondering if there is any wisdom on the forum to help get through it.
  11. Spinnerbaits, Heavier TRig, Jigs and if I ever fish a CRig it would be good for that too, but it isn't a technique I really like. I'd use it for more, but at 7'10" it takes pitching, skipping, and close combat techniques away.
  12. I have a pair of SC elite sticks, but the MHF are 7'10" and the MF 7'6". The MH is in between the 843 and 844 in tip but seems to have the power the 44 has. Absolutely love that rod. The MF is my TRig rod. Usually tossing a 3/16" or so and it is amazing for that. I like them both enough I didn't have anything built on an 843. The MH is my favorite all around bass blank.
  13. You now have me all concerned about storing mine in the garage, lol. I've been out fishing below freezing, but can't store my stuff below
  14. Good garage doors and insulation? No idea, but when we are above -10F it doesn't freeze. If we have lots of days in a row at that it can, but it isn't common. What happens to rods/reels below freezing?
  15. Not heated, but it gets below freezing about 6 days of the year. Long term plan is to heat it though, but for this winter it won't. Considering there is no water on the reels and only oil/grease is temperature really a concern? By next year, it will be heated to 40F but not for this winter. I've been storing them on the wall on some old rod holders in the basement since I moved in the house, but next spring I will remodel that space and lose it which is when they have to live full time in the garage. Partly also building it above the boat as I have too many rods to fit in the boat at once. This will allow me to hop in the boat pre-trip and put whatever I want on deck or in the lockers rapidly. Thanks for all the ideas guys! So far a poplar piece drilled/routed sounds like the choice. It is in a bin on a shelf in the garage
  16. Always wondered when they shrunk the store and fly gear from the previous location. They've always given me a good break off retail, but I've spent more than 10x what you witness on ski gear there albeit over a few different days.
  17. Any regrets? Curious what spacing you chose? Hole saw and a jig saw to finish the holes or did you find a cleaner way of cutting the straights? My wife is well aware. Her level of shoes however is insane.
  18. I added a new garage stall this year to keep the Ranger warm and comfy all year. Long term I plan some dust proof-ish cabinets in the garage, but need a temporary solution. I have 11.5' ceilings so I'd like to use the verticality of the garage and hang my rods above the boat. This would also allow me to swap them quickly while prepping the boat for a trip as I can reach them while standing on the boat. I've done some research here and on the web and here are some of the options I've seen. Wondering if anyone has better ideas or experience with any of these that would recommend modifications or any other method? I can edit afterwards. If there is anything here I shouldn't have posted please let me know. ( I fixed the links, needed to make some of them Https and http links don't work)
  19. I'd be looking at FB Marketplace and CL. I have a KVD Quantum CB rod....and hate it. Frickin' boat anchor and the handle is way too small.
  20. Wayzata, Grays, Carsons are still open. I didn't drive past anything else today. That being said, I pulled my rods and gear to get the boat winterized up for storage today. Fat lady has sang for me.
  21. I use fresh cab, dryer sheets and moth balls and it has been fine stored in a barn.
  22. I keep some in the house and then just grab cotton balls and put them anywhere I think there might be intruders and they are gone usually overnight.
  23. I make my own ant poison with borax, sugar and water. It is NUTS to watch it work. Got the sugar ants so excited there was literally a 20' long train of ants going to the poison. Right in a super small crack in my front door and to the living room where one of my boys had left them a treat. I saw 6 eating and put one cotton ball down. Needless to say it was a one and done treatment.
  24. My favorite are like this one, but hold 8. Great for hopping on the neighbors boat. That one holds 6 and is $17
  25. I have a variety of different utility carriers that hold either 4/8 3700's with no extra pockets. Super cheap and easy to grab what I want. A lot like this: https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/plano-weekend-series-speedbag-tackle-bag ...but with an open top or easy flip top.
