  1. Depends on the year/time I am shopping. My collection is solely based on perceived performance and quality at the time of purchase and that means one year it could be Shimano for baitcasting and Daiwa for spinning or pretty much any other permutation of brands depending on who released what. Had a first year Revo...haven't bought an Abu since. Even for non-brand loyal bad experiences can color things.
  2. Having big Muskies makes up for it.
  3. I run my bike a 2 psi ...in the winter. Flattens the big 5.5" wide suckers out good and floats right over the snow.
  4. I like to use as light as I am patient enough to handle
  5. My T rig rod is a power lower than my pitching rod. Of course if I need a really heavy T rig for some reason I step up to my pitching or flipping stick. If I need more weight on the T rig it is because of heavy cover. Around heavy cover I want a line that will take the environment I put it in. I go straight to braid for that, but used to use 20-25lb mono.
  6. They only list max because they have no insight on what trailer you are putting it on. Run them like car tires. Proper inflation is key to long life and the right ride. The goal is to get them to wear uniformly. Then you have the right pressure for the weight you are putting on them. If you constantly wear out the middle it is too much pressure and if it is the outside then not enough. Erring on the side of too much is better than too little, but don't err too far.
  7. I'd MUCH rather drink a Hamm's than a light anything at least it tastes like beer....not good beer mind you, but beer. I'm classically more of a high test sort of guy though.
  8. The bigger reason is Covid. Time of year is also terrible (at least in the Great White North). If you want a boat this year you are going to over pay....but you get a boat which has a ton of value IMO.
  9. It has no problem with a normal Zara spook and those are 3/4'ish. I wouldn't whip it with the rod, but it is a dream to walk it with it.
  10. A rod tip is a few bucks and worth it to check. It will definitely change the action and probably lop some off the lower end of what you could cast, but it isn't expensive or hard to do. Can just use hot glue to put the tip on. Make sure to use a real caliper to measure the diameter of the rod where you will put it on and line it up carefully.
  11. I don't understand. To me cost is very simple. Buying price + repairs - selling price. That is what I have to determine if I can stomach. Boats classically lose 50% or more of their value in 7 years after that the rate GREATLY reduces. The repair cost of course can go up, but more than time use is what causes the needs for repairs.
  12. Wouldn't mind a pike dinner actually...but once the water warms I'll change my mind. Opener is coming too late this year (always).
  13. I think we are related Keith.
  14. I have insurance to cover my crap if it gets destroyed, an umbrella because I know if I hit someone they will be a prima donna who drives a bentley on land, and mechanical coverage. Travelers insurance covers the motor along with the boat really cheaply. The deductible isn't little, but if I pop my high hour motor I can get it fixed pronto.
  15. Sorry for the misinfo, I tried to configure one and couldn't figure out how to buy without. Caused me to stop looking at them. A removable one works!
  16. Thanks. Since the beginning of Covid I have used over 300lbs of flour. It is just 4 of us. We never eat out though and make everything from scratch pretty much. Grow a lot of our own greens hydroponically in the house as well. We LOVE to eat.
  17. Electric's aren't really much better than a hose. I have one of these that I bought 18mo ago for $280 and it isn't even really strong enough at 3300psi and 2.5gpm. More flow would help. It cleans the wheeler okay, but true power washing tasks it could use more sauce. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007QDYQEK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. The lack of a single console option is what killed it for me. I abhor a 2nd pod on a boat. Waste of good space IMO.
  19. Ha, almost as boring as a drop shot. If I wanted to be a walleye fisherman I would fish for walleye.
  20. You are pulling reverse tension on that bait fundamentally pulling it right out of his mouth. You have to keep positive tension on him. Also fishing a worm on light spinning tackle is a recipe for losing fish unless you are using a much thinner hook. Need to use the right tool for what you are doing.
  21. You are losing tension in the excitement. That is first and foremost what you have to not do.
  22. I buy 00, 14.2%, 11.7% all in 50lb bags. The more exotic grains and such I buy in much smaller quantities. Have a full on restaurant supply in my kitchen though. Used the 00 to make some Chicken Parm tonight at the request of my 9 year old. He loves homemade noodles.
  23. My tackle box also shrinks over time. Things that don't work or I don't want to use shouldn't be in the box. I still carry around more than 20 3700's, but it used to be a lot more.
