I'll have to try on it then.

Kistler Rods
Received my first one last week. Its the 7'3" HMH XF model rated 1/4 - 1 oz. In testing it seems true to rating. The cork is comparable thickness to my Dobyns rods. It is very light and extremely sensitive. The action seems true to advertising. Mine is an XF and the tip is noticeably faster than my Dobyns XF. For $257 which is the same sale I purchased mine in, it feels like a no brainer.

T rig rod question
Received my Helium last week and finally got it out over the weekend. I am floored. Many times more sensitive than anything else in my collection. It feels equally as good with my planned t rigs as it did with a jig throwing it around. I'm not sure I'd be on board @ $400 but at their sales prices I will definitely pick up another. Thanks for the help.

Jig Setup
17# Invisx on my normal Jig rod. I'll switch out to my frog reel with 65# braid to 20# leader if its nasty.

Braid to fluorocarbon connection knot question
Alberto knot whether I'm going from 65# braid to 25lb FC or 10# braid to 6lb FC leader. No issues.

Berkley power worm
This. It feels like it is the correct way so I fish it with more confidence. All that matters.

Summer baits for larger fish
Jigs and 10" worms.

T rig rod question
Thanks. Realistically 3/16 and 1/4 are most of my use so that sounds perfect. Looking forward to the step up in sensitivity.

T rig rod question
Just placed the order for the Helium 7'3" HMHXF. A couple days and we'll see. Thanks for all the insights.

T rig rod question
This and the 7’3” model are what I keep coming back to. These Heliums seem to be universally well thought of. Might just b time to pull the trigger.

T rig rod question
Thanks I appreciate some new options. Nothing like adding to the analysis paralysis. The suggestion about used makes sense too. It sounds like a lot of guys here buy and try until they find the right rod so the aftermarket might be a place to look.

T rig rod question
In the Kistler Helium line, is there much difference in say the MH models with different lengths? It looks like the 7' and 7'3" are same specs but is it just a different length or some change to the actual action. I'm primarily a Kayak guy so I like to stay at 7'3" or shorter. In addition, in you experience with the weights I'm using would I be better served from the MHF 1/4-3/4 or HMHXF 1/4-1?

T rig rod question
I'm looking for a dedicated T rig rod. I'm currently using Dobyns Fury 703c and 734c for these. I'd like to step into the world of higher sensitivity and repurpose my current setups. I have a couple rods that I've been looking at and was hoping for some real world feedback. I'll be using 15-17# FC and 99% of the time using a 3/16 - 3/8 weight with a soft plastic in moderate cover. A friend suggested the ALX Zolo Deputy. He has one and it feels good but have also been suggested the G. Loomis GCX 853 or 854 JWR. I'm looking in the $200-300 range for the rod and am open to other options if there are better ones our there. Also I'd prefer cork grip. Would any of these fit what I am looking for in particular or is something else like a MBR be a better option? Thanks for any input.

Fury 704 casting rod
I use my 703 for weightless Senko's. Just about perfect.

Baitcaster - Over or under spooled reel?
That’s about how I fill mine.

Recreational and Fishing Kayak
I can’t speak for the others but I have been using the 12.5 Moken V2 for a season now. Primary for fishing but have done some non fishing paddling with my wife. It is not a fast as her sit in Kayak but keeps up and has been great for pond and river fishing.

Proper Way to weigh a bass?
I added a plastic mini grip to the scale instead of the hook so I just grab them with that like a fish grip instead of the hook.

Single Hook Replacements for Whopper Plopper Lure
This is big in the SW catch and release crowd especially with the Striped Bass group. When I first changed some plugs over I noticed less hook ups. What I found is even though it looks funny at first, upsize the size of the replacement inline single. For instance, if you are replacing a 1/0 treble, replace it with a 2/0 or 3/0 inline single. The gap makes the difference in hookups.

Dobyns 733C / 743C questions for Northern Smallies
I have the 703 and 734. I like the 3 power for 3/16 and 1/4 oz T rigs and anything heavier I prefer on the 734. I use braid to FC leader on both.

Is this deep enough for a smallmouth landing net?
I use a Ego S1 wade net in my Kayak. I’m pretty sure the handle is about 11” long. There are a couple hoop sizes and mine is plenty deep enough for bass. It is this one https://www.egofishing.com/products/wade/kryptek-medium-rubber-net/. And it has rubberized nets so good with hooks. Very happy with it.
