  1. Roll Tide!
  2. I like to stretch my line with a big bass on the other end. ?
  3. One of my all time favorites. Would love to find reruns of this show somewhere.
  4. Not all will agree but i use Norman Speed Clips on many of my casting rods so I can change quickly without retying. The only things I tie direct are worm rigs, jigs, and spinnerbaits.
  5. I jokingly call them today’s “false prophets” but, truly, I think most of them do the best they can with the information at hand. There is only One who really knows what the weather will do and He isn’t found on TV. And I don’t mean Jim Cantorre. ?
  6. Good job. The only thing better than catching a fish is watching your offspring do it.
  7. Sometimes I do. But there have been times when I have inadvertently tripped the thumb bar when doing so.
  8. Sexy shad crankbait and blue chrome lipless for me.
  9. Assuming double shot is sonar and DI, I'd spend more on a bigger screen double shot for the bow and put the triple in the console. I use my DI with the Reveal feature enabled to ID fish. I cannot swear that it's helped me catch more fish but I can see them as well as the bottom structure. Make sure whatever you buy supports mounting the transducer on the trolling motor. The triple shot hook reveal 7 I bought was actually designed for the transducer to be on the transom. But, clearly, I'm no electronics expert.
  10. I’m not aware of such a setting on my my unit. I must research. Thanks.
  11. I put a tripleshot on my bow. I rarely use the SI because for it to be most effective, as I understand it, your boat has to be moving at a minimum speed that my TM cannot reach. Had I known that, I would have bought something different. My long range plan is to put livescope at the bow and move the tripleshot to the console.
  12. I was stationed at Camp Hovey, which is on the backside of Camp Casey. I did most my drinking in Tong-Du-Chuan, which is outside of the gates from Casey, at a place called the American Club (Owner Ms. Kim...nice lady). Often we'd do a thunder run through To-Ko-Ri, catch a cab to TDC, and thunder run our way back to the main Casey gate. Needless to say, we weren't walking very straight by then. My first experience with Soju was in something they called Kettles. I'm sure your roommate knows them well. They are a lot like Hurricanes in that they're a fruity little drink served in a Kettle. I had a few glasses and wondered what all the hubbub was about. It was like drinking koolaid. Till I stood up to go to the bathroom, whereupon the room began to spin as I stumbled my way to the bathroom entry and proceed to ram my head into the top of the doorframe (Koreans are typically much shorter than Americans) and wound up on my backside. By the time the night was over, I couldn't stand.
  13. Stationed in Korea for a year and never knew they had bass. Guess I should have come out of the bar more.
  14. I run both my finders off the same battery and am not aware of any issues.
  15. I usually grab them with the hand I need to use to take pics ? Seriously, like many others, I am right handed so I typically grab them initially with my left.
  16. I've only caught one bass on a DS. I'd pretty much given up on it but, watching this video, I realize I'm making 10 of the 7 mistakes ? I'm inspired to go pickup some 6 lb test copoly and give this another go using the techniques described. @Glenn, thanks for posting these.
  17. No smallies in south MS. May be spots, but I don't recall seeing one. Maybe I missed them because I assumed they were bream ?
  18. That's the method I tried first. However, after tying the two half hitch knots, when I go to pull on the braid to tighten the coils, rather than tighten down and cut grooves in the leader, the leader just seems to slide through the braid until it comes completely out. What's odd is, the first time I tried it, it was perfect. But it's not worked since. I'll have to practice some more.
  19. I find that bluegill will grab the tail of my work and yank on it like they're all that. They frequently grab and run in the opposite direction. I've learned not to set the hook on those type of "hits" as it usually results in no fish and a damaged (or lost) worm. I could be missing a few bass this way but, I'd wager that 90% of bass that hit like this are dinks.
  20. Actually, I wear the same hat every time. It might be time for a new hat based on recent successes ?
  21. That could have made for a crappie day.
  22. I tried it as well using 15# fluorocarbon as the leader. As @desmobob stated, unless your leader is sufficiently stiff, this just doesn't play well. So, for now, I'll stick with the crazy alberto.
  23. I’ve never used a trailer hook but I’ve read they’re what the doctor ordered for short strikes on a spinner bait.
