  1. Suffolk Park ranger can ticket for parking but can’t enforce fishing regs I believe. Yes the old Bavarian inn area is now county owned and the area between victory and parsnips was always county owned. I rarely fish that lake anymore from shore anyways. The Facebook crowd ruined posting photos
  2. Interesting. Park ranger or DEC?
  3. Monitoring Facebook pages? Lol I’ve been fishing LI waters for 30 years and have never been hassled. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve even seen a DEC officer. Most of the officers I’ve come across are not knowledgeable at all and don’t even know the difference between certain species. I snagged a bunker and he said “nice bluefish”. From what I understand they are severely understaffed and there’s like 2-3 officers for all of LI. The enforcement around here is a joke. They’re going to give you a fine for fishing “bass baits” for walleye. Why can’t I fish a large swimbait for walleye? Because bass season is closed? What a joke. Maybe they should start cracking down on the people who keep every single thing they catch who are the ones destroying our small ponds and lakes.
  4. Daiwa bg is a spinning reel
  5. Did you ever solve this issue? My two do the exact same thing you describe. I don’t think it’s the line roller
  6. I disagree. I would say the 703 is your average “medium powered” spinning rod
  7. There is no reason to set your drag with a scale for bass. Tuna yes, bass no. Set your drag by feel. It’s that simple
  8. Line visibility is the least of my concerns. when I do use a leader it is for the ease of breaking off and abrasion resistance. In my experience, I have caught just as many fish on straight braid as I have with braid to leader. When I do use a leader it is always mono. Better abrasion resistance and higher knot strength than fluorocarbon. One of my largest fish ever came on straight 30lb braid
  9. Don’t think it matters. I only back mine off at the end of the season when I’m done fishing
  10. More people fishing and less fish. Enjoy Maine some great fishing there
  11. Pre covid orders always shipped out the same day or next regardless of standard shipping or two day. Now orders take much longer unless you pay for the two day or next day which is worth it especially if you spend over $50
  12. I like the shimano Sahara and shimano nasci in that price range
  13. I’ve never done it and never had issues
  14. A Texas rigged worm is the most versatile in my opinion
  15. I use 15lb braid with 3-4’ of 8lb mono leader
  16. Dobyns fury rods and shimano sienna spinning reels
  17. Hard to judge weight through a photo but that fish doesn’t look close to 12lbs. Nice fish though
  18. Use Berkley big game mono as your leader. If you insist on using fluoro i would use seaguar blue label
  19. Use the smallest size size spro barrel swivel. Size 10 35lb
  20. Good luck with the move
  21. Where are you living now. I’m in suffolk
  22. I use 30 and 50 with no problems
  23. Are you using a leader? If so, the knot could be catching the guide causing you to break off
  24. I like shimano’s 2500 reels. I don’t like the “t-handle”
