  1. I was trying to justify it in my head somehow, like if my wife really loved fishing and we went out nearly every weekend but even then I cant imagine what a 100+k boat will do that a 50-70k boat would do just as well. A boat for just myself currently and occasionally a joy ride with my wife and daughter....no, I'm more the 30-40k used market at BEST 😅. As everyone else said the 100K towards a house that could bring in more income would be more worth it. Now if you had 1 or 2 of those already then 100+K boat might not be out of the financial question but still...why that much when plenty of other boats provide the same for much less.
  2. been trying to get back to my cart for checkout for the past 5 minutes. Checkout isnt happening. Constant 404 File Not Found. Stay strong fellas (and ladies) And done...25 minutes to checkout. At least I can finally test out some Tatsu now.
  3. optimistically confused always trying to figure it out but looking forward to learning from both right and wrong guesses.
  4. Depends on what you mean by "Cheap". If $100 normal pricing (no discounts/sales) is "cheap" then Id say buy a cheap $100 reel and spring for a better rod. Any cheaper than $100 on a reel and I'm not having a good time. $85 Lews Speed Spool (you can find them often at this price) and a $130 ARK Tharp rod and I wouldnt feel the slightest bit handicap going up against anything else I own.
  5. I think the Merc 75 and 115 is similar. The 75 just needs a tune if I remember right. If you can boost the 60 with something similar please someone fill me in!
  6. yup...because I just bought a different reel because I didnt want to fork over mgl 70 money In the future I'll let you all know when I'm buying something...a sale is sure to follow within 3-5 business days.
  7. My personal opinion is anyone who can learn about ecology, fish habits, etc. you can fish. There is nothing else you do that cant be easily learned and the proof is all of the 8yr olds out casting me on youtube. It's honestly amazing there havent been more prominent women in fishing. Its even more amazing that given todays climate of empowering women, no organization has spotlighted any women that I've seen. You'd think they want the "brownie points" for doing that. Leaving personal opinions out about that strategy, I'd have thought that would have happened by now. @WaskaCrank12 had no idea she does freshwater tournaments! I've been following her on IG for a long time and have seen maybe a handful of bass from her. She definitely earns the recognition, pretty unique what she does, her outlook and the fact shes a Captain at such a young age. If I'm not mistaken I think she JUST finished college?
  8. @BayouSlide I go straight to 100, but I've sighted in more rifles than I care to admit. You absolutely can do it inside your house though if you have a shot from end to end, the more distance the better. Level on the stock/chassis/scope rail, level on top of the turret and a plumb bob hung at whatever distance you can get (i do this part in the house). I start with getting both levels level with each other, get behind the rifle and level the stock again and then fine tune the scopes cross hair with the plumb bob. Turrets arent always square to the reticle. If the scope level and plumb bob are too far out from eachother either you are holding the rifle wrong or you have a really messed up scope that should go back to the manufacturer.
  9. I bout my 2013 tracker 175 new and have been fishing from it ever since. Hasnt skipped a beat. Just about every year I consider trading "up" but its hard to justify when it does everything I want it to. You might also look into Crestliner though. While I love my tracker the Classic XL (im assuming based on price) you are looking into lacks a bit of deck space and I personally would likely step off of it on accident. The crestliner storm series gives you a full deck for about the same price.
  10. Been following Christine Fischer for a while now. Really love what she puts out and her effort. She definitely earns every spot she gets. Will be interesting seeing her in a boat that she keeps hinting at. Another one is a bit less about fishing but Chasten Whitfield hosts Their Life My Lens. She takes kids/people with certain disabilities out fishing. Young girl but if you follow her on any social media she seems like she really does the fishing duties all on her own.
  11. @Pat Brown I see the show got you too....lol.
  12. @A-Jay Thanks for the recommendation. That line was actually on my list to test at one point but the Armilo worked so well I never do. The Ultragreen and a Suffix offering or 2 are on my list if Armilo goes away. By the way....where do I get some of that Infinity # test Big Game????
  13. set the rifle up, pull the bolt and look down the barrel from the breach end. Center the target in the bore and without moving the rifle adjust the turrets so the reticle or sights align with the center. In less than 5 minutes I can have a rifle hitting within a few clicks of where it should be. Free, easy and you can do it at home too by picking an object outside and doing the same process.
  14. The Wilderness Recon 120 I had I could practically dance in. It was a bear to drag around though. Bonafide RS117 was also stable but not as much as the Recon.
  15. A bit over your listed budget but I just picked up a Lews Speel Spool for $85 shipped. At $100 its already a fantastic buy, at $85 I should have bought 2. I can fish with a less sensitive rod but a reel that performs like crap and I'll enjoy fishing a lot less...I'd save a few more dollars and get the Lews.
  16. I hope it stays...slowly been converting my bottom contact rods to all armilo. Going to have to start the search again if not.
  17. @padlin yea I'm only on 100mg and sticking to a mostly Mediterranean diet with red meat maybe 1-2 times every other week. No attacks since. From what I understand there's no need to "come down" from the med slowly so only thing you may be at risk at is a flare up. All of this is cleared with my doc though, coming off it isn't an option currently. She gave me 3 options to either stay and deal with it, try the Feb medication or a 3rd option that's out of the question because it puts my heart at risk. @VolFan I drink minimum 3L of water a day and I controlled the gout with just diet for about 8 months but even basically just eating salad and pasta I started getting really bad attacks and here we are. It's incredible the pain it can cause...I think only my kidney stone topped it. I'm not sure how they put you on Allopurinol but my doc put me on colchicine at the same time during start up for the first few months. She said when you are getting adjusted to the Allopurinol it can actually cause gout flare ups on its own and the colchicine prevents that. You eventually come off the colchicine and should have no issues with the Allopurinol.... might have been you situation and thought it didn't work?
  18. Hey all. With my declining kidneys from a hereditary kidney disease I developed gout not long ago. I was put on a low dose of Allopurinol back in October-ish and havent had and attack since (thank God). I did get hit with one of the side effects, tinnitus, which I had to a hardly noticeable level prior to the meds. On the meds though its gotten worse where its noticeable constantly unless there is at least talking level noise going on around me. Trying to sleep has been fun... A few questions for anyone on Allopurinol -Anyone get off Allopurinol and the tinnitus go away? I wouldnt mind it if I knew it would go away once off the meds (kidney transplant in the distant future). -They are looking at switching me to Febuxostat which also has a potential side effect of tinnitus but I'm hoping for whatever reason the different med will react more favorably for me. If you did make the switch did tinnitus go away? Feel free to PM me since I know not everyone is as open with their personal stuff. I would love and appreciate to hear any input on similar situations though.

We actually have a specific season called Urban Archery down here and it has to be in a City that allows it and within city limits. I'm not sure if you are the same but its more than just in a more developed area for this specific season. Agreed on the deer movement though. Whats odd is the deer seem to disappear only in the urban areas that allow urban archery 😅. The equestrian center we hunt in another city is jam packed with deer. Right next door I'm lucky to see a squirrel after December. I'm not sure if its practical for you but you might want to try a quickly packable ground blind and try a few areas in one day. I'd try the same but our approved urban areas are so small I'd have to load up in the truck and drive to another city.

Yup, I'm hoping something comes across with antlers otherwise I'm not risking it. Historically though Urban Archery season has been extremely slow for me in terms of deer movement so I'm not holding my breath for anything.

Anyone hitting urban archery season? I think ours ends Feb 12th in the area I'll be in. I waited too long in the normal season for a good deer and I'm left meatless so far. Going to be even harder now just going for bucks. After November wont shoot a doe and certainly not in Jan/Feb. Not interested in gutting a partially developed fetus. Personal choice, no judgement otherwise.
  22. Hitting a fishing show this Friday so I'll likely grab a pointer and a provoke. Just saw 6th sense released a Provoke 97x (110 JR equivalent) that I might have to buy to compare if any are there. Doubtful...but I really am interested.
  23. After trying a few reels I think I've got it down to 3. SLX 70 mgl: lighter lures and pitching. Spools extremely freely and handles lighter lures well. Lews Speel Spool: general use reel. Does well with just about everything. Tatula SV: I havent tried anything more expensive but this reel is fantastic for skipping any lure and handles average to heavier lures perfectly. Its not as free spooling as the SLX above but I have yet to have a single birds next with this reel.
  24. Wow I missed a lot. Could have swore I signed up for notifications on this thread. Battling nutria at my work's pond right now as well. Burrowed huge holes next to the inlet drain pipes. Seems like you got past the issue for now but I'll talk to our trapper when he comes out next time and pass on any tips I hear.
