  1. Congratulations Clayton!!! Awesome write up on a dominating performance!!! Heck of a year!!!
  2. Nice way to start a day. Nearly full moon lighting the way.
  3. That he did. They sure are tasty that way though!!! Zatarain's blackening seasoning is the bomb.
  4. Nah. He always said Cajuns call that burnt. 😂 At any rate, blackened is one of my favorite ways to eat fish.
  5. That's a jumbo in my local waters @TnRiver46. Congrats on catching a tasty dinner. On that note, I've been blackening all my fish dinners lately. I found I can do it in the oven without smoking up the house. Just brush some clarified butter on the fillets, coat with seasoning and bake at 450 for a few. 😋
  6. 👆This. Keep those legs nice and warm too. If you keep the rest of yourself toasty warm, your hands and feet will fair much better.
  7. Fish are really scattered right now, but here in about 4-6 weeks I'll be looking for these beasts around acre or more size shad schools.
  8. Always great to see Lynn doing well!!! Congrats on a great day on the water together.
  9. Praying for a successful surgery and a fast full recovery.
  10. This mornings major was a major major. 😁 The moon was directly under foot at 06:48. We boated four muskie and lost another between 06:30 and 07:30, then the bite shut off like a switch. We had another window between 09:30 and 10:30, boating two, losing two, and moving four more, then it shut off cold again. No big's. All between 32" and 35", but it was a busy boat this morning. 6 for 9 with four more follows in 5.5hrs is a fine morning of muskie fishing even if it was a dinkfest. 👍
  11. I used 1/8" aluminum to build the deck and floor in my 16' jon boat and Seadek eva floor covering. The deck will never rot and the Seadek is holding up great 4 years in.
  12. Good to hear @A-Jay!!! I love being Tammy's net man.
  13. I'm still catching them good so far, but I'm not a fan of the technology at all. That's not fishing IMO, and it's definitely not a good thing for the fisheries, especially on small waters like we have here in OH.
  14. Good job @IcatchDinks!!!
  15. Good luck brother!!! I'm with ya. I'll be rolling a bucktail over shallow submerged weeds as dark gives way to the first light of dawn. #QUESTFOR100
  16. The moon, Venus and a star lined up the other morning.
  17. @Bluebasser86, I was wondering about the color of your skinny muskie as I read your post. Every super skinny OH muskie I've caught has been a gold/bronze color. Yours looks similar. I think it's a genetic thing. Here's a super scrawny 46.5" I caught last year. And a 38" the wife caught this year.
  18. Not just bass. I had a roughly 40" muskie rocket up and eat a spinner just under the surface about 10' from the boat this morning. Immediately after the hookset and those initial big head shakes, it launched about 4' into the air, bounced off my trolling motor, circled back around the bow, and launched again, doing a backflip on about 5' of line. It came unbuttoned mid backflip and swam off. It would have been nice to net it, but I'm grateful for that awesome bite and short but exhilarating fight.
  19. Seems like I've seen that before...... Oh yeah, now I remember...
  20. Congrats to @FryDog62 and @TnRiver46 on some dandies!!!
  21. I'm with @Team9nine. It's a type of Chara. They call it skunk weed and musk grass for a reason.
  22. Solid year all around. #Blessed.
  23. Yep. We have them in our local rivers and streams. ODNR lists them as endangered, but I used to see them pretty often when I waded a lot.
