  1. Love you too brother. You've been in my prayers since your diagnosis and will continue to be.
  2. Heartbreaking. Prayers for everyone down there.
  3. Council gave a bunch of rednecks permission to launch all the fireworks they want for three days IN TOWN and only one house was burned down? I don't know whether to be proud of 'em or disappointed in 'em. Just to be clear, I don't use the term redneck in a derogatory manner, as I'm 100% hillbilly, and the only difference between a hillbilly and a redneck is the altitude at which we reside. 😂😉
  4. I worked a 12hr shift. Double time and a half. Made enough extra to buy a new telecaster. Rock on America!!!
  5. Awesome day!!! Congrats!!!
  6. PB LM was pre-spawn. #2 LM was December, #3 LM was an August fish. PB SM was caught in Sept. #2 & #3 SM were late fall fish. The best time for catching big's for me has been when the water temp starts with a 4 or 5. The exception to that is night fishing.
  7. Congrats @gim. I wish we had tigers here. Such gorgeous fish.
  8. I used to be that way, but over the years things have come full circle. I just roll with a handful of proven techniques and baits that I enjoy using these days.
  9. Ya gotta admire this little fellas ambition. Not only did it try to eat a double 10, but it T-boned it and got the front hook. 😂 Crazy fish!!! A little later I picked up a 24" eye on a 5" Tuff Shad. It'll be served blackened, with fried potatoes and coleslaw tomorrow evening. Couldn't get a muskie to eat those muskie baits though. They've been pretty uncooperative lately.
  10. The gill plates are worse than the teeth. That back edge is like a knife blade.
  11. Prayers for successful surgery and fast healing @Swamp Girl. On the upside, you've already had what most of us would consider an outstanding year of fishing, so congrats on that.
  12. Flippin rig + 50# braid + thickest cover you can find = success.
  13. Purty fancy word for a hillbilly. 😉 It's ok for me to say that cuz I are one too. 😂
  14. @Jonny15678 didn't say they were consecutive days. Nice fish Jonny.
  15. They're somewhat effective. My wife still uses them. IME the deer tend to stop and look at your vehicle. Less chance deer on the shoulder will bolt out in front of you, but doesn't help with deer that are already in the road, or on the run.
  16. That's possible? 😂 Good to hear. It gives me hope for the day when my back says we ain't doing this anymore.
  17. Same here, then again, that's what I say pretty much anytime I'm bass fishing when that big ball of light is up in the sky. 😂 If they ain't in the laydowns, they're in the weeds. Dropping a worm or a beaver on their heads will usually generate at least a few bites.
  18. If you have the time to hit it, blowing the horn usually gets 'em moving.
  19. Given the limited amount of bass fishing I do these days, I'm nearly always reaching for my 7'11" XH F flippin stick, or my 7'4" H MF bladed jig rod. Wrestling them out of the jungle in the daylight and working weeds and rock structure at night with a bladed jig are my two favorite ways to catch 'em. In both cases the rod is an Ark Invoker Pro series.
  20. Yeah.... They're pretty particular and tend to overthink things where I work. 😂🤦‍♂️
  21. I got out for a few hours of fishing in the wee hours this morning. The first hour was a hot bite on my favorite weed flat, then the moon rose and it shut off like the flick of a switch. Managed a half dozen this size and a 2# saugeye. I think I'm gonna make the hour drive down to my #2 lake tonight and see if I can get into some brown bass in the dark, then muskie after sunrise.
  22. BEST NIGHT FISHING BAIT EVER!!! 😉
  23. Welcome aboard.
  24. Time for night fishin!!!
  25. Same here. I've reached critical mass.
