I just noticed that @scaleface mentioned he was having a complicated surgery this coming Monday morning. I just wanted to wish him good luck & a successful outcome.

 I'm going through Esophagus cancer right now. Monday they are removing the esophagus, splitting the stomach , creating a tube  making a new esophagus. It will be a lengthly recovery.

My step father had this surgery and it was successful, it gave him 16 additional years when the prognosis wasn’t positive. 

I'll definitely keep him in my prayers.

Actually, had mid-plan CT scan yesterday, and it's already showing shrinkage of both the lung and adrenal gland 'invaders'....two more rounds of Chemo then I get a PET scan to really see what's going on.

I hope everything goes well @Dwight Hottle and @scaleface during your respective procedures and wish you both a speedy recovery.

Just got home , doing well. The procedure didnt go smoothly. My lungs were straning to hard so they had to pause the operation five times to give them time to rest. Next day My O2 Sats were low and they couldnet bring them up. They had to place me on a ventilator for two days. When they took me off the Sats were stable then they turned the corner I recovered quickly. I'm home now with much relief. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Good to hear!  Glad it was successful.  Now you have to keep moving around, even when you don't want to, or think you can't.

My brother-in-law passed a few months ago due to a post-surgery blood clot.  He didn't get up and walk around like he should have.  It's no joke.  Get up and move!
