Help me pick a trolling motor!!
Haha, yah, this boat is actually quite heavy, much heavier then other inflatables I was looking at. None the less, I hate to go above 55lbs and need a 24v as opposed to 12v.

Help me pick a trolling motor!!
So I just got my Zodiac boat. 12ft boat, very sturdy, and not the worlds lightest inflatable, but it's still not too heavy. How will this due? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&partNumber=1192 I don't have the money for an outboard at this time, so I will be using this to travel a bit, I'm not going to fish rough waters, or attempt to travel 20 miles by any means, but will it push the boat and for how many hours on one battery? I'm planning on getting two batteries.

500 to spend on new rod/reel
Good to see you got a GLX rod, sounds like a good choice. Next rod and reel, get a Baitcaster and give them a shot, I loved spinning until I made the switch and BCs are just more fun. AS for reels. I don't know much about the Stella, but I have a Stradic and absolutely love it. They're smooth as hell, and just plain awesome.

Finally got my boat!
Hey guys, I've bothered several of you for suggestions on a boat, and I finally made my purchase. I needed something that could fit in a car or car top-able because some places i fish are no trailers. I got a Brand new, never used 12ft zodiac type boat. Takes up to 30hp outboard, holds up to 1500lbs / 5-6 people Came with a wooden floorboard insert, but I'm going to make my own that fits the entire bottom of the boat instead of just sections. Finally I'll be able to enjoy fishing even more! I'll post pictures once I inflate it and fish with it sometime this week.

What Weight Do You Use?
DON'T USE A WEIGHT. Stick baits are by far the most productive weightless. For me, even more productive when rigged wacky rigged. I haven't T-riged a stick bait in 3 months or so.

Daiwa Viento?
In most cases, I would understand, you don't use the bar. For my case, I would use the bar much more often then most people do. This rod will just be for jigs, and it would make fishing for 10 hours easier when it comes to fishing a jig. Much less arm work! I'm probably going to just go with the Curado as all my reels are shimano, and they haven't let me down yet. I looked on ebay and couldn't find any vientos for $135! Lucky!

Anyone have a Porta-Bote?
I decided to go with a 12ft Zodiac type inflatable boat. inflatable Vhull, Hard wood floor inserts, up to 30hp outboard, etc. Thanks for the help guys. All and all, the PortaBote just scared me a bit, and I heard they take a LONG time to fold and unfold. Inflating and deflating probably wont' be much quicker, but oh well!

Daiwa Viento?
How many people have these, and what do you guys think? I was thinking about putting it on a Gloomis GLX 844C, strictly using it for 3/8oz and 1/2oz jigs. Figured it might be cool being able to hop the jig with just the push of a button... I was going to get the Curado for this rod, but figured I'd ask about the Viento before I made my decision.

What is the point?
Rod and Reels make more of a difference then braided line, in my opinion. Carp and Catfish are totally different styles of fishing, and that fishing, you can get away with a cheaper rod and reel as long as it wont' break on you. The reason people spend more money on bass rods, is light weight and sensitivity. The more you pay, the more sensitive the rod is. The more you pay on a reel, the better it performs. To me, I'd rather have a really expensive rod and a moderately expensive reel. The rod is more important to me. But that's just me, some disagree.

Anyone have a Porta-Bote?
They can take outboard motors, and yah, I think that it'd be nice to have, but as long as you're smart about it. I wouldn't fish places with a current at all without an outboard.

Anyone have a Porta-Bote?
I fish with a partner, and I HATE sitting while fishing. so it's a zodiac or portabote :-/

Anyone have a Porta-Bote?
Lafayette reservoir! - No trailer policy. I'd also fish just the lower lake of Clear Lake with it most likely (Near Redbud and what not).

Anyone have a Porta-Bote?
There's gotta be a way that it can't fold up while fishing. :-/ I've seen a few guys fishing from them before, and they don't seem too bad. I was set on getting a 10ft Zodiac with wooden floorboards, but the thought of a hole in it sounds more common then the portabote folding up. And as for the price, I've found some local for $700 or so. I can't find a decent priced zodiac under $1000 that's bigger then 9ft and that'd be tough to fish with two people.

First Cavity
I just got back from the dentist. Took 40 Minutes, 4 shots, and a lot of drilling. He said it was much deeper then he had though, and that the xray had show. Just my luck! I got laughing gas though, so I was pretty careless to anything around me, and listened to music, making it not too bad at all.

First Cavity
I thought maybe I could go my entire life without one, but now just before turning 20, I have my first cavity. I hate needles, I hate people working on my teeth and being in my mouth, and I hate the noise of all the tools. What do I do!?! Any good advice to making having a cavity filled, at least bearable?

Help me pick a trolling motor!!
I'm looking for a trolling motor to power a 9-11ft Zodiac. I may also use it from time to time on an aluminum boat, but 99% of the time will be on a zodiac. I'd like to spend below $250 if that would even be possible? Thanks ! I was looking in the Bass Resource catalog, saw a Minn Kota Endura 55 (55lb thrust) for $244.99 or $239.99 (One is 36" and one is 42") Would these be sufficient in pushing a zodiac ? If so what's the dis/adv of the 36vs 42

G. Loomis, fragile?
Someone answer my question ;D What kind of warranty do the GLX rods have, and does the IMX warranty differ from the GLX? Thanks ;D I'm going to be ordering a GLX within the next few days but after seeing this thread I want to know about the warranty. thanks

G. Loomis, fragile?
What is the warranty like on the Loomis rods. I was just about to order a GLX MBR844 and wanted to know what it was before I get such an expensive rod.

SKUNKED!
Better get back out there and catch at least a 10in bass before the day is over!!!!! If I know there's only 1 hour left to fish, and I haven't caught anything, I'll throw out a wiggle rig or a plain drop shot and hook a few 10inch bass just to catch something!

Upgrading My Gear
Get the curado, if that's what you like, get it. If you want to save money, the Citica is a step down but still a great reel as well.
