  1. Save up some money a make a larger order. It's not worth it ordering just one lure. Exactly. The problem for me is, I want one thing, but use it as an excuse to order 20 other things. Instead of paying $10 I pay $100.. Grrrr!
  2. That's what fishing is all about. Good to see!
  3. I was going to say, you didn't leave enough behind the reel, I knew that would be a big problem. I tried doing this to a cheap rod, and screwed up a bit, BUT in doing so found an easy way to do this. Buy a kit, they're $24.99, remove the current cork, and just sand it down properly so the whole blank is exposed, and slide this guy on (of course with glue or some adhesive you pick). Much better look, and easier.
  4. There's no BPS or Cabelas within 1,000 miles of me. =\
  5. I don't fish too many heavy cover situations, but who knows in the future. I'd hate to get an expensive rod then a year later be fishing heavier cover. Is there a reason why having the 783 would be better in some situations? Is it any more sensitive or ...? Both look great..

Evolution jigs Skinny Bear Jigs MicroMunch (I've heard great things and just placed an order, Great guy from BR makes them) I haven't tried Jig X yet but just about to order some. T-Rig has been schooling me on some jigs that i haven't tried but i'll let him post the ones he likes. I think every jig fisherman has his or her own beliefs, and confidence jigs / trailers. The most important thing obviously is the hook, and the skirt.
  7. Dang, thank you Burley, is that a sale, or is always that price?
  8. Thank you guys for the help. I already have the Citica so maybe a Curado or SX? choices =\
  9. I was thinking about the Revo STX although it's $200 and that leaves me $200 for a rod, and after looking at the loomis rods, Looks like I'm going to spend around $250 on the rod, unless there's better places to buy them from then BPS. So maybe the Revo SX? It's a possibility, but without a shimano reel, I may feel lost :
  10. Wacky rigging a senko is idiot proof. With the hook already exposed, it doesn't take much of a hook set, or even you realizing there's a fish on to catch one. I don't use O-rings although i'm sure they'd save me money in the end.

Actually I'm still a juinor in highschool. WOAH! Didn't see that one coming.
  12. My birthday is coming up in a tad bit, and there's not much that I can think of to ask for, aside from some fishing stuff! I want a Gloomis rod , no exceptions, I'm finally able to get one, but I don't know much about them to make a decision. As for a reel, I'm really up in the air about what to get. I figure a better rod is more important so $220 or so for a rod and maybe a $150 reel would be good. I want this rod to be perfect for jigs. My other rod I got for jigs, is nice, but I am having fun throwing heavier plastics on it, and some other fun rigs. Suggestions please.

Man, you are knocking the hell out of the CA waters!! I hate seeing your posts, because it just makes me feel even more desperate to get a boat!!!!!!! By the way, where are you going to college?
  14. If you can afford it, definitely go with the Stradic!
  15. would still be a jew, but not a broke one!!!! ;D b (sorry, had to) Hahaha! That made me giggle. So when are you going to be making these basstrix paddle tails brent?! I'm waiting!
  16. If you're going to get a combo from bps, get a combo with the Extreme rod. The Bionic Blade is good, but after having both, I prefer the Extreme rod, I even sent my Bionic blade back and got a combo with the extreme. If you have $170 the Citica/Extreme is a good combo ,I know that's a bit more then you wanted to spend. I fish from shore and prefer my 7ft and 6'10 MH over my 6'6.
  17. I wish I had a mom like you!
  18. I still have a few packs around, and just ordered a few more. Maybe I'll put them on Ebay :
  19. I catch tons of fish on a wacky senko from shore. My go to bait from shore aside from a jig.
  20. Nice fish like usual, you are truly blessed with great fishing holes!
  21. Maybe he meant, 20lbs 6 oz?
  22. Should start makin some custom rods, that split grip is pretty cute!
  23. The more and more I see these threads, the more the bait monkey beats me over the head with a baseball bat. I tell myself no, and then I see another thread, and I'm that much closer to ordering one.. Mhmmm..
