Bass Pro Shops® XPS Pro Wraps for Fishing Rods
I was curious about that too, looks like the same stuff, but isn't it just about the same price ? And I will have the same problem there, is black going to get really hot?

Bass Pro Shops® XPS Pro Wraps for Fishing Rods
I was wondering how many people use these. Seems like a great idea, makes holding the rod more comfortable. I was about to order a few in black, when I realized how hot the handles may get from the rods being in the sun. I don't like red or blue, but I'd hate holding a really hot handle, like a steering wheel when your car has been parking in the sun. Do you think this would be a problem?

Looking to get one more rod without a reel, help !
So right now my current rod/reel lineup is: Shimano Stradic 2500 / Extreme XPS Medium 6'6 rod Shimano Citica / Extreme XPS Mediume Heavy 7ft Rod I'm looking for something to throw mostly swimbaits under 1 1/2 oz and frogs with. I'm going to use a BPS Pro Qualifier reel but need a rod under $100. Right now I'm using the Citica / Extreme for Jigs and stuff, but I would be willing to use the Extreme 7ft MH for frogs and swimbaits and get a better rod for jigs.. if that makes more sense I could put the Qualifier on the Extreme rod for swimbait/frogs, but then I need a decent jig/worm rod for my citica. I'm just looking for a good rod to help me be more versatile and able to throw more. so any suggestions would be great!

First "Tournament" / New PB
I guess I under estimate sizes, that's a rare thing in fishing these days ;D I'd rather guess lower then higher and be disappointed. When it first came out though, I swore it was 8lbs+ but none the less, my new PB. thanks guys.

Best way to weigh a fish?
Of course, but the bag is the best way. Stick the hook part through the gill area resting it on the gill plate, DO NOT hook it through an actual gill. Sharpen the hook part on your scale, and just pop it through the bottom lip...

First "Tournament" / New PB
Yah man, she had a cut on her back. Looked fairly fresh too from up close, but I'm not too sure what it was from. I got her in clean so It was nothing from me, so who knows! and Bryant, jeezus man what day did you fish? It was a full moon or very close Saturday night maybe that changed it if you didn't fish sunday? Morning time at 6:30 we lost 3 fish in 10 minutes on smaller swimbaits 5" and so. I threw a suspending jerkbait and hit 3 in the boat in the following hour, and after 8am the bite just disappeared. We stayed fairly close to the Redbud launching ramp. You had an AMAZING day compared to everyone in the bass club tourny. Biggest bag was 19.6 Or so, 2nd was 18 something and we had 3rd 17.8. If it wasn't for my 7 we'd have had a miserable bag. Hahaha.

Big fish in the new boat.
Congrats man, I wish I had done that well on Clear Lake this weekend!

First "Tournament" / New PB
Clear Lake. I was very disappointed with the bite Sunday morning. We fished 6-am-1pm. I saw you fished Clear Lake, what were you using and where'd you fish upper or lower lake?

First "Tournament" / New PB
Here's the pic. No belly, but nice size none the less. The picture looks so much smaller, I'm a bit disappointed. Finally get a fish weighed on a reel scale, and the pics look small, just my luck.

First "Tournament" / New PB
So I fished my first tournament, although it was only a club tourny. It was the first time I've EVER fished from a bass boat, and the first time I fished a real lake from a boat, period. Bite was tough, I put the first 3 fish in the boat, 1.11, 2.6, 2.14. Partner then put two in, one just shy of 4lb and another just under 2. With 15 minutes left to fish, I hook into a nice fish that starts taking drag and heading for weeds. Pulled it out, went 7lb 2oz (My new PB / Big fish of the tourny). It was a good way to start this new bass club I joined, and I had a great time. I'll post pics once I get them sent to me hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

Zodiac type inflatable boats...
Yes it has wood floor boards. Thank you very much for the help!!!

Stradic 2500 users
P-Line CXX is too stiff for me. P-Line CX is VERY good. Right now I'm using Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft #6 but have mixed feelings about it, it's soft, but does have memory and some spots in the line just feel rough... Maybe I got a bad batch, I will for sure buy 2-3 more 275yd packs of it to give it a fair shot. But for now P-Line CX and YZ Ultra Soft are my two most liked. I put braid on my Stradic to start, and didn't like it. Then again, I don't like braid at all, so maybe braid is fine.

...so the color red
Wouldn't you want a hook to not be seen? If red does disappear, isn't that a good thing? Red hooks would mean no visible hooks ;D

Zodiac type inflatable boats...
Hey guys, just trying to get a few more opinions on inflatable boats with wood floor inserts and such.. I fish at a local reservoir that has a NO TRAILER policy, you can car top it and such, but no trailers, thus making it much easier to get an inflatable boat. BUT, I also fish Clear Lake, The Delta, and other places, so it needs to be able to hold up in those places. The one below is one local to me and is $450. My obvious concern is holes, especially when using it for fishing, hooks, pliers, etc... How easy / hard is it to pierce a hole in the boat and if I do, is there some type of device that can fix it while on the water so the boat doesn't sink and by by fishing rods and gear...

Welcome Back!!
I had some serious withdrawal issues this past week. I had to keep bothering LBH about when the site would be back up. Sorry LBH, and thank you Glenn for getting it back up! It's like Christmas all over again!

A little help with my son plz
Ok, well I have ADHD and was on meds for years, but fishing is the one thing that has helped me calm down and relax my nerves and really even me out. Bass fishing works for me because you're ALWAYS doing something, casting and reeling. I CANNOT bait fish, have never been able to, maybe for an hour, but that's it. It's strange that he cannot bass fish, because to me, that was the only type of fishing I could do. I do remember when I was 15 though, I would only want to go for a few hours, now I'm totally ready to take on a 14 hour day if I'm able to. (I'm 19 now). Wait a few more years, he'll have more patience and enjoy bassing fishing more, if he already likes fishing as it is. Goodluck.

Gary Yamamoto Swimbaits?
Yah, that other thread convinced me to go get a few bags of the swimming senko. I've been throwing the super grubs and catching nice solid 3-4lb bass and tons of 2lb bass and smaller, figured the swimming senko maybe will get bass the next size up!

Now I'ma go dig in my garage and try and find something like that so I can get a free swimbait! Will you accept a real mouse? Haha, joke. But dang, sounds like that lure would be tons of fun to throw.

Trimming Jig weed guards
Roger, I'm not sure if you wrote the thing that I read, or if you just do it the same way, but last night I was reading these EXACT steps. I thank you very much, I'm going to go lay down in front of the tv, relax, and trim my jigs!!
