  1. Yah, I use LH on Spinning, and my first BC I got I got a LH retrieve but for some reason it felt weird.. So I use RH for BC now.

Haha, yah I heard you're going to be out here in September. Best of luck! Are you going to be fishing Clear Lake too, or just the Delta? File Mob: I didn't get to throw last night, I was tired and it was dark.

The sooner I find a cheapo jon boat or inflatable boat and outboard, the sooner i'll be fishing the delta. That will become my new go to spot that I fish once or twice a week. Finally I'll be able to cut the Reservoir out of my routine!!

Haha, yah it's a tough reservoir to fish, but it's the only place near me, so after fishing it every week, I've learned a thing or two. Only thing about the res is, haven't seen many fished over 7 out of there in a while... One day (hopefully soon) I'll be able to fish Clear Lake and the Delta and finally be able to nail some bigger fish.

Only got to go out for a few hours again, and I finally got some new jigs in the mail this week that I had been waiting to try. Only caught one fish, and had about 5 other taps, but all and all had a good few hours on the water. Especially cause the past 3 trips out, I've caught nothing over 3 1/2 lbs. 4lbs 6oz
  7. I just ordered 3 bags from Brad, hopefully I'll have them sometime this week. I haven't been this excited to try a bait sense the Senko! Rw, you haven't let me down yet with advice, I pray the streak continues!
  8. Man, I love how Trig always posts photos, but right now, I'm not happy about it one bit. Now I really want some of those jigs!! TRIG, is that the Haze color that you posted a picture of?
  9. Why not powell rods? They're pretty awesome! Follow what RW says though, he's always given me good advice on rods, hasn't done me wrong yet!
  10. There's thousands of lures between those weights, find some things you like, Jigs / Plastics are both fun to fish, and 3/8oz and 1/2 jigs are the most popular and both in your weight class.
  11. Anything between those weights. ;D
  12. I started out fishing Ugly Sticks, that was the first rod I used, and I'll tell you now, you miss out on a LOT fishing with them. The sensitivity of other rods over the ugly stick is a night and day difference. Not to mention, the hook up rate sense I switched is also night and day. If you really want to start bass fishing, you don't have to spend too much to get a BIG step up from an ugly stick. I still have my ugly stick, but I use it for the rare occasion of fishing for other species when I bait fish.
  13. Maybe you're not fishing them right? They're much different then a Horny Toad. Many people have GREAT success with them. My worst bait would have to be... anything on television, EXCLUDING the banjo minnow.
  14. The cavitrons are great! I caught my first bass on a buzzbait last week, and it was on a Cavitron. I'm going to use it again tonight. Anyone looking for a good buzzbait, try these puppies out.
  15. No rod for $30 is going to be good for throwing large swimbaits and heavy stuff. Like I said before, save up your money, and get something that can cast up to 5 or 6 oz baits as well. Although you're throwing things under 2oz now, who knows in 6 months you may want to throw a hud or other large 5 and 6oz baits, this way you'll already be able to. The okuma rod is a great rod that Burley posted. Save up, get that, and you're set.
  16. d**n you got me wanting to take that trip now, I've never fished for Pike either. It's a shame there's only 3 weeks left. If you have an incredible time I may have to go up there this weekend. Best of luck man.
  17. The berkley tournament one is $30 at *** and is very accurate.
  18. Def make sure you get a rod before you get anymore big baits. Why not get something rated for a bit more then 2oz as you've shown interest in baits like the hud and other large baits. If you're gonna spend the money for a rod to throw big baits, might as well get one that can throw even larger ones as well. Just a thought.
  19. I want to try those Sabertail 3" baits as a trailer, they look awesome, and flap on the fall. Anyone tried them?
  20. 90% of the time I use Uncle Josh's Phantom Craw trailer, but lately I've been experimenting with Hula Grubs, beaver craws, and all that good stuff. So far, I have more confidence with pork, and have caught more fish, but only time will tell.
  21. Man oh man, got me wanting to try a spinnerbait now! Most people I know will only throw a spinnerbait in the wind.
  22. This is the man to listen to! Texan, I'm going to try some of your color schemes, I've come up with a few of my own that work, but some of those I haven't tried yet. Thanks again bud!
  23. I prefer to use different colors. Black skirt, I use a blue trailer, blue skirt I use a black trailer. Green skirt I use a lighter green trailer. Just experiment, I've caught fish both ways. I'm still new to throwing jigs, but having tons of fun just experimenting.
  24. Cabela's online is the only place I know of.
