  1. It really depends on the lake I fish. One reservoir 1 1/2 is about average, although those pesky 8inch bass never stop biting so that would throw my average off a bit. But average keeper would be 2-3lbs with a few in the 5's and 6's. If I fish Clear Lake or the Delta, 2-3lbs is a pretty easy average to hit on a normal day. Fish Chris average prediction: 13lbs 4oz
  2. My SJR722 in IMX retails for $215, while the GLX is $100 more. I'm not sure where you're getting just $50 from. I don't have any regrets about my IMX. Sure, a GLX would be nice, but my IMX is the nicest rod I've ever owned. Ebay and Reeds. Ebay you can find GLXs for $290 shipped. And reeds always gives around $20 or $30 off from retail price and I believe free shipping? I got my MBR844C for $290 shipped to my door, and oh lordy I love it. (Thanks to RW)
  3. if you're going to pay $250 for a IMX , just spend $50 more and get the GLX. Then there's no regret, or in 6 months wanting to step it up to the GLX. Just spend the money and don't think what if ;D
  4. Baitcaster. For heavier baits, I like BC. It's easier the throw lighter baits on a rod suited for heavy baits, then throwing a heavy bait on a rod suited for very light baits.

Any day that you can catch 13 bass over 2lbs is a great day in my books.
  6. If you like the way your reel looks, it gives you confidence, confidence catches fish. I care what my rods/reels look like too! Not stupid at all.
  7. There are easily 5 different swimbaits that are rigged like this.
  8. You have the weed guard on the jig as it is. No need to rig the trailer weedless too.
  9. If I had a bit more then $500 I'd get a GLX Loomis rod with Chronarch. I've always wanted a Chronarch but I pay more for my rods and less on my reels. Get a Loomis GLX though over the IMX, and spend a bit less on the reel. If you can wait, Reedssports always has good deals online with Loomis rods. and sometimes you can luck on on ebay. I got my GLX 844C for $290 shipped to my door. Curados are nice, I like my curado a lot , the 100 D fits my hand perfectly. And they're $165 at Delos. I understand the satisfaction of buying the rod and reel in the store, and if I could, I probably would too. But you'll have to pay full price.
  10. It's been too many months sense I had a day like that. I'm jealous :'( Congrats though man, sounds like you made a good return!
  11. Honestly, I never keep fish. When I was 12 I used to keep trout BUT not anymore. I haven't kept a fish for the past 5-7 years. I feel too bad for the poor fish.
  12. Sure, just like metal is metal- no matter if it's lead, iron, stainless, titanium or gold, right, it's all the same? Beyond the "metal", blank design, taper, wall thickness, scrim and the actual manufacturing processes all play a significant part in the finished blank. One more thing- Loomis is no more expensive (relatively speaking) than it has always been- there are just way more other quality rods on the market now and since many of them are lesser priced, Loomis "looks" more expensive in comparison. The fact that you can buy a 'good' rod for less money, only means that you can buy a good rod for less money- it's independent of the Loomis... but eager to compare. If you don't want to buy a Loomis, don't. But if you don't buy one, how can you tell people that X or Y rods are just as good? I think it's funny that about 95% of Loomis users say they are a GREAT value and about 95% of non-loomis owners think they couldn't be that good. ...lol I had never owned a loomis rod, and just got one about 2 weeks ago. I was one of those Non loomis owners, and always said, they can't be that good. Never thought a rod would be worth $300 and never imagined it could be much better then a $100 rod. I went out and got a GLX and absolutely love it. Although I won't sell all my other rods and will still buy other rods from other companies, GLXs are awesome. They are well worth the price, and if money wasn't a factor, I would only own Loomis rods. Being 19, money is an issue, so for now, it's one GLX .
  13. I like my Curado better then my Revo. If I could have done it all over again, I woulda got 2 Curados. But the more I get used to the Revo, the better it feels. Hopefully bps will give you your money back, and let you get a shimano. Sorry to hear you had a bad week, I feel your pain man.
  14. I loved my Citica, until I got a Curado. Both felt just as smooth and casted roughly the same, BUT, Size wise, I liked the 100D. To me, a rod is MUCH more important, and seems like a few others agree.
  15. Spend $200 on the rod an $100 on the reel. Can get a Citica or Stradic depending if you want spinning or BC for $100 and then have $200 for a nice rod.
  16. The Extremes are now on sale for $65.
  17. I just got my revo last week. Took a little time getting used to, as I've only fished Shimano reels before. Now that I'm used to it, I love it.
  18. I LOVE Orange, so for me, I am praying it's a good rod.
  19. Redlinerobert just ordered his last week. He's going to post a review about what he thinks after a few uses I guess. If it's good, I'm ordering one. $150 for a orange rod, wow!
  20. He posted about it when he got back. Go search for it. I believe he only caught one, but met a nice lady !
  21. I have one and love it, plan on getting a few more!
  22. Tis a true Giant. That is a GREAT picture to go by when guessing weights. There is no way that "12lb bass" looks remotely near the size of bizzles. Bizzles fish could inhale that thing in an instant.
  23. There's been 1,000 threads at least about Avids on sale. Go search. In the $100 range? Do you mean $100 max, or up to $199 ?
  24. I would, but I've only got to use it once at my local Reservoir .. I'll catch a beauty sometime soon.
