  1. Anyone have one of these? I was thinking about getting one for finesse fishing. Drop shot and maybe some split shott'n. The spinning rod looks nice although only 6ft 4in. How sensitive are they compared to other rods in their class?
  2. I fish a small reservoir maybe 2 miles around. Mostly known for Trout and Catfish, but there are some bass in it. Recently a handful of people have been using live bait, and catching a ton of good sized bass, from what I've heard 2lbs and up to 5 or 6lbs. They're keeping them all. I wish they had a 12inch-18inch rule, but they don't. Anything over 12inches can be kept. I'm worried that this will really screw with the reservoir and soon there will be even fewer bass then before. Is there anything that I can do, or is it a lost cause?
  3. I agreed. I have been saying 34-17, so very close.
  4. Of course, that's no problem. $350 rod breaks, and I pay $50 to replace it. Not a problem.
  5. Sweet. Thank you very much.
  6. Some of the pictures you can tell your arms are stretched out. The 2lb bass look around 3lbs in the picture. The other ones were much easier to tell.
  7. I've been looking online, and can't get a real answer for my question. If my loomis rod breaks, do I need any receipt / information in order to call them and do the xpeditor service? From my understanding, they ship you a rod, and then you ship your broken rod back into the tube you received the new rod in. Shimano you have to register your reels to get the warranty, is there any registration or anything that I need to do. I'd hate my rod to break, and call them, and not have what I need to get a new rod.
  8. I use a 1/0. #2 is too small.
  9. I'm thinking about ordering one, but I want to know more. How does the rod feel with different baits. Robert, what type of techniques would you recommend this rod for.. I want a Drop Shot rod, and maybe another jig rod, but from the sound of it, it isn't the ideal rod for either... Maybe I'm wrong?
  10. Spook Spook Spook Super Spook!
  11. Nice fish! It's been too long sense I've had a nice jig fish like that. Congrats man!
  12. I have an old charger. I put it on 10 until it's almost fully charged, then switch it to 2.
  13. Agreed. The simple bark of a dog can do a lot. i'm sorry to hear about this, and hopefully he gets caught.
  14. Those are just underspins. I throw those a lot with my Basstrix paddle tails and other swimbaits. I don't think you're going to find a head made for shaky head or anything like that with an blade. It wouldn't make much sense unless you're swimming the worm or something.
  15. Most fishing stores sell the proper hooks, but also the hooks depend on the type of mold you get. Barlows has some of the molds, and on the mold it will tell you the type of hook recommended and size for each mold. You want a football head or just a plain round jig head? Barlows has a lot of different types of skirts and some very nice colors as well. Not sure about books and videos though.
  16. I just very lightly twitch my rod tip, and do a bit of dragging with my shaky head. If I were to use the blade, it wouldn't do anything but get in the way.
  17. Most productive: Shaky Head Favorite: Jig
  18. The paddle tails aren't worth $20 a pack, but are easily worth the price of $12 for a pack of 5 or 3 depending on size. They swim like no other partly because of how soft they are, and also because they have the hollow body. The paddle tail plays a huge role, but I do believe that as of yet, they're in a league of their own.
  19. Still alive for AT LEAST 5 minutes as it took us 3 minutes or so to get over to it, then watched it open its mouth, move its eyes looking at us. I felt sorry , it was sorta sad to see. I wish the sealion just ate the whole thing and put it out of its misery.
  20. Sea lion attacking a nice sized catfish in the water. Smart sea lion only ate the back off to keep himself from getting hurt by the 3 spikes from the catty. The catfish was still alive well after the attack.
  21. No, seriously. Rod needs to be able to handle a 8-10lb bass. I think i'm going to get the Loomis DS Rod, a friend has it and has taken in some 7 and 8lb bass on it.
  22. If that's the place in Oroville, they only have them in stock for 20 minutes daily. From 10-10:20am. Goodluck gettin through!
  23. I need something that can handle a 10lb bass not 5.
  24. I already have a gblanks rod.
  25. Tell me about it! I'm getting FRUSTRATED!
