  1. I've thrown a spinnerbait maybe 3 times in my entire life. So No ;D i only like to throw rips and traps when it's windy, and it was pretty calm, with very intermittent wind. I threw my hand tied jigs all day. how deep were them jig fish? by the looks of them pics they couldn't have been deeper than 15-20' I've never fished lafayette deeper then 20! No fish finder, I'd be completely lost on that reservoir fishing that deep. I think most of the fish are deep, but without a fish finder, I'm stuck at the shallows. I found one spot about 15ft where I pulled that 5lber, not sure why there were 4 good fish there on Monday all 2-3lbs and that one 5lber, all caught within 1 hour at the same spot. Pretty random spot too.
  2. I fish a heavy pressured, small bass population reservoir that SUCKS. I want a bass boat so I can fish the real California lakes more often! ;D
  3. Didn't know about that ... I've always just called, ordered $100 of basstrix and that was it....

  5. By the way, all the fish monday including that 5lber, and all the fish today, were caught on my Gblanks rod. I have a GLX Loomis rod for jigs, and was throwing the SAME color jigs with both rods, and caught all my fish on the Gblanks rod. Mhmmm!?
  6. the flashtrix are pretty easy to get, the paddle tails are hard to get. The 4" I use on a ball jig head. Something that small, no need to Trig it. .
  7. Lucky! I stupidly asked for today off without looking at the weather for today and tomorrow. It's going to rain tomorrow for me too, I'm PIST. Saturday , Sunday, Monday (I have off), and it's clear skies all 3 days. tomorrows the only rain.
  8. Got work off today, wanted it to rain, but I got a blue bird sky. Only 3 keepers on the day, and about 10 dinks
  9. There's quite a few guys on this sight that fish near you, there was another thread of about someone fishing DVL. Get some videos, and read up as much as you can on this site, it will help a lot. The past few months have been tough fishing EVERYWHERE so don't get too down. Goodluck, p.s. Catch and Release ;D
  10. If you need convincing, maybe you shouldn't get it. The casting rod has a parabolic action, somewhat limited in what it should be used for. The spinning is only 6'7" , I like 7'. What do you need the rod for?
  11. I've used it once. I wanted to get one for jigs, but actually prefer doing all the work myself. You have more control and more feel. I realized the way I fish jigs it's not needed, and may take away from my jig fishing.
  12. Not sure if my walmart sells it. I'm going to run my battery all day tomorrow and see how much I can really push it. I lasted 7 hours last trip. I think at 7hour mark i'll fish fairly close to the boat dock just in case. I'm going to check out walmart if it dies within 8 hours tomorrow. Thanks again.
  13. Tough call, if it's 10lbs+ I'd take that FOR SURE!
  14. Definitely not the two batches I've purchased. #8 and #6 both had a decent amount of memory. Suffix Elite is now on my spinning reels.
  15. 105ah for $60? I paid $110 for a 90ah. d**n I'm going to wal mart!!! I'd have no problem paying that for a 105ah battery. Jeezus. It's on a 12ft aluminum boat.
  16. Ok guys, not sure if this would work or not, but I hate to spend another $100 for a back up battery . I have a 55lb thrust minn kota, and a 90 ah battery. It's about 3/4 drained after 5-6 hours. I want to be able to be out there for 8 hours or so without worrying. Can I use my car battery as a second battery, or is that a terrible idea? Any cheap batteries I can use for 2-3 hours?
  17. Yo Zuri Hybrid isn't a fluorocarbon line to my knowledge. Also, Yo Zuri Hybrid is much worse when it comes to tangles, memory, and all the stuff you explained. Yo Zuri Ultra Soft is a bit better, well actually much better, but still I've had some problems with it too. Always better to have the line spooled on the proper way too, less line twist.

The basstrix are much better then any knock off that has come out thus far. Avid, if you don't find any in the near future and still want them, shoot me a PM I can send you a couple 4" holo shad. I get them somewhat frequently but I usually sell them first or second day. Goodluck on your search bud.
  19. I know, right!? I really thought I was going to pull a 6lber at the delta. The last 3 hours of that trip, I kept saying, "Come on David, T-Rig predicted a 6lb fish, that means you are going to catch one, for sure". Didn't turn out that way. But I'll take a 5lber and bass palm any day.
  20. Looks like the forehead of a dolphin.

I too thought this for a while, until I was fishing with a bud at the delta. Nailed a 4lber and a couple 2 1/2 -3's on a 6 inch robo worm. Made me a believer.
  22. That's their retail price not some special price. Go to their website. I only wish they had a few more options on the rods. Length and action and such. I might go get that spinning rod though, I'd have no use for the casting rod.
  23. I didn't go to auto mechanics school, but I got to do better, and skip it, and go directly into the field. It's less then pleasing, to say the least and am itching to go back to school and make something better of my life.
  24. Family Guy Flavor of Love I love New york 2 Fresh Prince of Bel Air Sports Center House of Payne There's too many shows.
  25. I'd say, it's safe to say your personal best is 6lbs. Go get yourself a scale. The Berkley tournament scale is $30 at ***. Digital scale and so far has been very accurate.
